Molecular mass is the term used to express the mass of normal molecules where as formula mass is the term used to express the mass of ionic compounds....

Molecular mass is used between nonmetals and formula mass is used between ionic compounds but the equation in both are Same.

Ionic Compound = metal + non-metal = Formula Mass Covalent Compound = non-metal + non-metal = Molecular Mass hope I'm right though
