Fake 64gb SD card from eBay was 5gb. The fake card looks exactly like your authentic card, right down to the serial number on back, the circuit "bump" on the back,and the brand new packaging. These things are getting better...

I just got one for $25 shipped on ebay and it is genuine. Lately you can get them from adorama for that price if you wait for a sale. On ebay you have to really be sure you know what genuine packaging looks like and it was really easy to tell the difference between the few genuine auctions and the abundant fakes on there.

I bought 2 SanDisk Ultra 32 gig off Amazon and they were both counterfeit. And they didn't work. :/

I bought 5 of these Micro SDHC Class 10 32GB Memory Cards from China sellers. I tested them all before trying to use them. They were purchased from 5 different sellers in China. ALL 5 TESTED at less than 8GB. So far I have been refunded from 4 sellers and I'm waiting for the 5th seller to refund. 4 of the 5 adapters that came with these micro cards were good but the 5th was bad. They were all sold as Class 10 but none of them performed at the speed a Class 10 should perform at. All were much slower. I did purchase an 8GB Micro Card without an adapter. After I ran the test on that one it checked GOOD.

Made in Taiwan or China either will have the lump on the back? I just bought one having a bad time with it since it looses my stored stuff and re-write slow seems fake so far and no lump made in Taiwan. I did get it of eBay. Gonna ask for a refund today.

eyeball mark 1 is a lousy way to tell real from fake SD cards. There are performance capacity tools which identify the internal labeling.

OK, so far the fakes i've bought off of ebay were always a lot less capacity than they were advertised. Are these fakes holding the correct amount? When i check the capacity and it's correct, does it really matters if it's real or not? I mean is there a huge quality difference or what else should i be concerned about? I'm asking this because if i don't have anything else to compare to, how will i know what i get if the capacity is correct?

Helpful video. I purchased a 64GB one from ebay too the past week, and mine was $42. The seller had 99.9% positive feedback, but the card had that weird color on the card like your fake card. However, mine does have the rectangular shape on the back of the card, and when I did the h2testw test, it came out as problem free. Also, on my computer, it shows SDXC thumbnail but looks very cheap looking. So, I'm wondering if mine is a counterfeit or not...

I was just watching a video on SD cards, they are all pretty much the same. The difference is how the micro-controller inside reads the sectors. Come to find out, every SD card you purchase has bad sectors on the silicone wafer. It might say 8 GB and read 8 GB, however, you probably only have 2-4 GB of good sectors. The way they compensate for this, is by using ECC(complex algorithms) to compensate. It does a really good job, but it's still not actually storing all of your data, just an approximation of your data that the ECC corrects....

I bought 30 64GB and 10 128GB Sandisk MicroSD from a Chinese supplier. I sold through ebay. Some customers informed me their cards were fake as those had only 7GB!! I never had idea about fake cards. I bought many SD cards for my personal use at cheap price and I have been using those for more than 5 years. I refunded them. I checked by few software and all tools showed that those cards are fake! I contacted my supplier about it. And now they do not reply. I am really screwed up.

Who ever it is that sold it to you most likely knew it was fake especially if they are selling other items that are generic or low quality. People like that will try to pass these things off as being better than they really are. In your case, it seems you did get only a 2 gigabyte card that was carefully reprinted. There are cases when a fake item can even be dangerous. There are a lot of inexpensive flashlights that come with Ultrafire batteries and a charger for JUST a few dollars. The flashlight is the only thing I keep when I buy that sort of thing because there are so many fake Ultrafire batteries and these are lithium ion. Not only are the Ultrafires GROSSLY overrated as to the capacity on the label of many of them but some of them explode and when they do they will often badly hurt someone. That can be made less likely to happen by using good cells and being careful who you buy from. Anyone can sell a fake item even people who are usually very careful not to keep fakes in their inventory and that is because some of them are faked so well.

Just got hosed on ebay myself 64gb card turned out to be 4gb. The packaging and printing on the card are almost dead on the only physical red flag was no "lump" on the back of the card. Ran it threw H2testw twice. Now im hoping seller will cough up my refund with no problems. Guess ive got to bite the bullet and buy from one of the overpriced electronics stores in my area.

Dude, I feel the same. I just got in the mail a 32GB micro SD with an adapter for my PSP from eBay yet whenever it the PSP loads something, the PSP freezes then shuts off. There goes my $20...
