SCH has massive heal potency buff due to changes in their barrier potencies. Im sure alot of healers who hate SCH will continue to complain about them being weak healers but after the changes more people will feel confident playing SCH. Its not perfect but its a much better shield healer than before.

From my experience leveling all the healers last year (no sage yet), I think WHM is the most boring healer until you get your Lily spells, which I think the first one might be around 52. From 1-50 it's the least fun healer to play and I think it has the worst tool kit until 50+. Astro and Scholar both were more fun to level at lower level, there was more to do and more ways to save a bad pull or a bad PF run. Once you get your full WHM tool kit, it becomes more fun to play but you wait such a long, long time to get every thing. But once you DO get everything it becomes borderline invincible because even if you fuck right up, you can recover very, very well. It's my go to "I have no clue wtf happens in this dungeon / trial " blind healer.

The 1.5 second cast time is better for keyboard players but a major gimp for console players. Now its a spamfest for healers to dps. Its fine for pc players. They can spam all day. For console players it will take alot to adjust while having even more button bloat with more and more skills to macro every single expansion on forward.

Legit what I have planned

Uh every current MMO out there has healers that have regen. What you state makes no sense. Pure healer and nonpure healer BS is all made up from your post. As far as FF XIV there are two types of healers but all healers get at least a skill of regen or shield just more or less EW took away skill potency making it not as effective to spam or rely on it unless the healer fits the FF XIV archetype class of healer as either shields or regens. Both types are capable of healing without neither. However it would be harder or not as mana effective. A regen healer stores mana effectiveness in over time heal with lower potency but passive small heals as backup for larger spammable gcds and ogcds. A shield healer does the opposite of regen healer. Their shields are massive potency but massive mana inefficient heal with more than 100% or even in SCH case up to 3x the healing if the healing potency of the heals with built in kits to critical heal and shield creating massive group wide tank buster saving barriers that would make regen mana efficiency seem a joke in comparison.

You are a little bit overthinking. Potency changes doesnt change the Playstyle. As long as sthe skills doesnt get significant changes you can compare the Jobs really good. But sure everything is still subject to change. But in the Past the skills itself didnt get that much changes between Media Tour Builds and the Final Release.

Fast forward 2 weeks. Everything is pretty much accurate. I just wish Sage was a bit stronger. Their healing kit is okayish. They are basically Scholar without fairy heals. For me healing as Scholar is underwhelming. Yet at least fairy and Seraph made up for it. Sage without fairy is even worst. They do make up for it with 20 seconds gauge instead of 3 charge every minute. However Scholars can save energy drain for 6 stacks. Sage cant do that. Sage has no answer for Scholar Dissipation which give Scholar total of 9 stacks which is insane amount of ogcd heals.

@superduperkid Sch is weak compared to whm or ast. What can Sch do that whm can as Bene, regen, medica 2, medica, thin air, cure 2, cure 3? Sure theyre now regen vs shield types but its always been. Only ast got nerfed to lose nocturnal for diurnal. Regen is fairy but better. Medica 2 is succor but better. I give Sch for shields. But whm potencies with cure 3 and medica blows succor out of the waters. Cure 2 is adlo for less mana. Crit Adlo with and without recitation is nice. But divine benison serves similar purpose. Lustrate is 9 stacks mana free lily heals vs white mage 3 stacks. I give Sch that. Whm plays better though in almost all case compares to Sch. Lily system is every 20 seconds. Need mana? Thin air for days. Holy spam locks down dungeons for days. I like ruin 2 and art of war instant dps. Thats one thing Sch and Sage does well is instant dps. But their heals sucks in comparison.

You still have Lucid Dreaming. Youre right that this is a really big MP Nerf but when i look back to ShB i didnt really need Thin Air that much. Maybe E12s and TEA.

@@DantoriusD thin air had it's specific very handy use when you just got revived in a battle, and you need to fling out a shit ton of heavy heals and revives to the whole raid party while on literally 0 mp (with lucid dreaming turned on for extra efficiency)

@serpenking uh no its not shyt ton of heal and res. Res takes 8 sec so max you can do is one res and one more res or two heal. Lol. Also its 15 sec so max 5 heals and no res. Thin air is now 2 charges. So you can res same as before with 2 charges. If you res and heal you get ONE less heal. If all you did after death is heal then MAYBE you will not get 5 heals. But if you heal 5 x vs 2 thats a raid wipe or your raid group sucks anyway. Also you got shyt ton of ogcd heals. Learn to use them lol. What a noob.

Youre be sorely disappointed. Lol. Ast got the nerf stick with removal of nocturnal sect. Theyre basically a weaker version of whm now without nocturnal. Except now you get to play with carpy cards with tons of button bloat. Everything that Ast learn later on as healer a whm learn much earlier. Only thing Ast has is group dps buff and ogcds that arent tied to lillies. Other than that whm is far better healer. Prenerf Ast was unique shield caster. Now theyre a whm clone but with cards. SE screw Ast hard.

@@zlonewolf Eh, tbh Nocturnal sect is shit anyway. Astrologian has the best mp economy of all other healers, because you basically get 2 lucid dreaming. Their healing spells also has less mp than White Mage despite having the same potency, and also cast a bit faster too. Divination no longer needs 3 seals and Earthly Star is basically a giant sized heal bomb now. AST is a bit OP now. WHM has the worst mp economy of all healers with the Thin Air nerf. Its ok when you have Lucid Dreaming and Assize, but if you get KO'd, what's gonna save you? Unless you have Tetra, Assize and Bene, all of your lilies are going to disappear with nothing to save you and other party members. Also Lilies are on gcd and blood lily is supposed to be the thing to make up for that lost dmg, but with the Glare buff it kind of makes it a dps loss.

@@zlonewolf lmao what. The loss of nocturnal means nothing to ast due to Neutral Sect's existence alone. And ast is even stronger than Whm currently thanks to Macrocosmos. While I agree on the slight button bloat ( drawing lord/lady and playing it should be the same button) cards are central to astro's identity. Hell, you don't even need to fish for 3 seals, 2 is fine. The only problem currently is astro's burst during div windows as you can't heal for around 12 sec due to the amount of card playing you need to do to align buffs.
