Changing tubular battery electrolyte works just fine. Done that so many times, it give good performance like a brand new one. Nice one

To be clear, you are suggesting that the once every seven months maintenance where he mentioned that one should add distilled water instead electrolyte can be added and it won't affect (by reducing) the lifespan of the battery?

@@ekeretteekpo3004 no, what I meant is, I would prefer after 2-3years of usage and topping with distilled water, discharge every liquid, wash clean it and add 100% electrolyte. It works very well with excellent performance

So, to be clear again, you are suggesting the regular maintenance of topping up with distilled water for as long as that will last the battery's expected performance and, when the performance is noticeably dwindled, to replace the electrolyte and distilled water - basically start from scratch. Is that it?

Thank you for the video, as usual. 😁 I was actually hoping that you will mention what to do to remedy a situation where the tubular battery gets tilted and the liquid spills. What would be the correct thing to do to remedy the situation? Or, does one just go ahead to use the battery in spite of the liquid having spilled and as long as the level remains above the plates? Or should one top-up and with what should one top it up?

Do you recommend rain water carefully and freshly collected from the rain in place of commercial distilled water? It is in abundance during rainy season. This could be handy when one wants to clean the battery and change electrolyte.

No. The rain water contains enormous compounds and chemical elements that will be detrimental to the health of the battery.

The shelf life of a lead acid battery without charge is between 5 to 7 months , SLA and SMF battery essentially discharges 3% every month so if it stays longer that 7 months it might start sulfating.
