There was a huge difference though.The elite had a completely overhauled Chip that was way less affected by the red ring and overheating. Also it consumed less power as far as I remember. The arcade was just the new version without a harddrive, but I think it again got a better chip than the pro and elite

The Xbox 360 E is Microsoft's latest revision to the 360. It's basically an updated Xbox 360 Slim. The Xbox 360 E will be sold along side the Xbox One.

Plus when the Elite came out originally, it was the only one with an HDMI. The Core and Pro were sold for a good 2-3 years before they replaced the core with arcade

I remember getting a xbox arcade for christmas back in 2006.. When there was legit no game with it except for the silly arcade disc.. and the dashboard was so simple.. my friend had a xbox pro and i was really confused how he got such a better dashboard.. (Also i wasn't able to play online since our Modem didn't had enough Cable slots) Then i sold it and 4 years later bought a xbox elite and at that time we had better modem etc which allowed me to have online on the xbox which made it SO MUCH better..

Yes an Xbox Arcade should be just right for you! And if you ever need more space later you can always add an HDD! :D

the hard rives are not the only differences the power supplies are also different each model has a different plug design. but a universal plug can be obtained to solve the problem. may send red ring if you do not have the correct wattage to the machine also.

core systems are far more likely to red ring, especially as the 360 keeps on getting older. if you want to get one to play on, try to find a jasper motherboard (late 2008 and newer), as the older versions (xenon, zephyr, falcon, opus) are substantially more prone to red ring

Even though the Arcade version was only $199.99 at retail, it really was the most expensive variant out of all of them, because you had to buy the HDD, the headset, and other accessories separately just to get the full Xbox experience. In total you'd spend more than $350 for all of it. Might as well go for the other version.

I believe the original lineup of xboxes was an xbox simply called "Xbox 360" with 20gb and no hdmi and the Xbox 360 Core with no harddrive and no hdmi. Then the Black Elite was released with 120gb and HDMI. Soon after the two old ones were replaced by Xbox 360 Pro with 60gb and HDMI and the Xbox360 Arcade with 256 memory card (later to be replaced by 256mb internal memory)

my nephew got the 360 elite he bought it in 2007 and its still going strong. with an average of 10 to 14 hours a week game play. he,s on cod ghosts and gta 5 now .

Don't forget the power plug is 6 terminal before that 2 barrel style came around. Mine is, "2008" with a hard drive on top...

You say nothing is different, you're in fact wrong. The slim 360 has the GPU and CPU built together for cost purposes which makes it a little bit slower and also the colors aren't as good on the slim consoles. Not to mention there are different models of the original 360 example: Jasper, Falcon, Xenon, etc. They had different DVD drives and chips on the motherboards. Jasper is the most reliable but is slower than a Falcon because they changed some of the components for cost and also it has only 4 ram chips on the top of the motherboard when the others had 8 chips, 4 on the top and 4 on the bottom. All though they still add up to the same amount of storage with the 8 chips on the older xbox's it performed better because that's how it was originally optimized and the ram was configured better. Also the Jasper's have either a cheap BenQ or a Lit-On Disc drive which are notorious for failure and have average Read/Wright speeds. All though the differences are very slight with each console they should still be noted because not every 360 model is the exact same. Personally if you wanted to get the best out of an Xbox 360 I'd get a 2007 falcon for the best performance all around, it has the fastest and most reliable disc drive (a Hitatchi) and also it's the quickest 360 model I've ever owned. Also since 2007 is after the whole RROD problems it's unlikely that any from the 2007 era will have the RROD if you properly maintain it and put new thermal paste on the chips every 7 or so years.

For HDMI port it doesn't matter is it Arcade or Elite, Pro or Core Core is first generation of entry-level Xboxes and it's got a Xenon borard (without HDMI) or Zephyr (with HDMI) In 2nd generation they changed name Core to Arcade and like Pro and Elite they've got new boards Opus(without HDMI) and Falcon (with HDMI) In 3rd generation there is a new board, Jasper and they all have HDMI slot. P.S Xbox 360 S and E consoles have got GPU and CPU in one chip and it is manufactured in 45nm process by GlobalFounderies in Singapore 2010. and it's called the XCGPU

The original white XBOX 360 has a small hard drive. (I think around 20-40 GB). But there were bigger ones available later. (Equal to that of the Elite) But here's another difference. The original white box, did not have HDMI capabilities. It was HD through RED, Green, and Blue cables, and 5.1 through an optical Toslink cord.

You're all forgetting about the ammount of USB ports on the back. I actually find them quite useful over the years in case I have multiple wired controllers or one port goes out

I've opened arcade 360 and slimmer one. I've got to say that arcade (or white ones) are easy to open and repair and etc. Currently I own Arcade one. And still works

Also they use different power supplies, that's why they made the "power supply port" on your xbox different so you can't put new power supplies on newer xbox 360 on let's say a core model xbox because they become more efficient as they make newer models (:

This video was made around 2 years before the Xbox one, The difference is that my elite never had a red ring. You could drop it or suddenly turn the power off and it would never break. I had a friend with a normal Xbox 360 who had the red ring problem twice. My cousin got through four. Don't know how true this is and it is just my own observation.

Hey Adrian, I like your video. However, please don't make the same mistake many people your age do by thinking that "CD" stands for "disc". If someone wants to buy a 4 GB Xbox 360 because not interested in downloading games, then most probably is interested in playing "disc" based games (as I am sure you'll agree, there actually are no "cd games" for Xbox 360, they are "dvd roms"). Many people even go as far as calling blurays "CDs". The only way to never go wrong is to refer to them as discs, since they all have the same shape, even though DVDs, CDs, and Blurays are three very different things. Keep it up!

elite xbox you can move it around no laser burn and ive had it for 7 years the only thing that stopped was the disc drive but i opened it up and noticed dirt had stoped the laser mechanism easily cleaned

yes you do need more space especially if your playing online and the latest version of Xbox 360 had a combined CPU and GPU while the others are separate

If you haven't bought him yet I would really recommend getting The Xbox 360 slim 250 gb because it got an extra usb port and an AV port because there isn't one in the E,The E isn't faster or anything,It has the same hardware and software it even has xbox 360 slim on his hard drive in the system written.It's cheaper for MS to produce the E. So go with the slim.

The RROD is caused by the Xbox overheating. So you would have a less chance of getting it if you shut it down when not playing.

And the slim has a touch pad for the power and disc tray and the slim has a hdmi plug not the other one.

I don’t know why the hell game companies do that stupid shit so you make a system with no hard drive just so you can go out here and buy an hard drive, when in all actuality you can just get a system that has a hard, it’s like with the PS five they made the fat version and then made the slim version. What was the sense in that?

I always like buying those 320 GB and 500 GB Detachable Hard Drives off Amazon for my Xbox 360 Arcade since it came with no Hard Drive and for my Xbox 360 Elite as well since 120 GBs is too small for me to use. I have Skyrim 360 Edition on my 500 GB and all the DLCs, whole Digital Game and all my Saves take over 30 GigaBytes on that 500 GB Hard Drive. I love Skyrim and I also love Fallout 3 + New Vegas. Morrowind, I am glad to finally play it Digitally on my Xbox 360 Elite using the 120 GB Hard Drive. :) I love how Microsoft is releasing those old Xbox Original Star Wars games so I can finally put my 120 GB Hard Drive to use by storing those old Xbox Original games on it.

All the launch 360s didnt have hdmi they added it when they did a hardware revision.

The fans, are different from the arcade and newer models they had problems over heating is why they got discontinued I have a pro and a slim

I have the Xbox 360 Elite.I would get the Slim or the E version but they were way to expensive and then i found a used Xbox 360 Elite but hopefully it's in good condition.

Ahhhhh, I had a core and it was only used to pull the optical drive to transplant into an Elite that had a faulty optical drive. This requires removing the mainboard from the faulty optical drive and soldering it into the optical drive from the Core. This is so the machine still recognizes the optical drive as the one that was originally in it. If one swaps the drives w/o changing the boards it won't play discs properly and you won't be able to complete any updates from games. Tl:Dr?? Then tough shit, take the 1-3 minutes to get the whole story! :-P

They are manufactured in different factories, w/slightly different grades of components. I hoped this would have details.

You missed one thing there is a difference on the power supply they're not interchangeable

on The slim one there were 2 versions . the 1st one was a glossy one with chrome trim (only released with 250gb and 4gb) and 2nd one was matte (released 4gb,250gb,320gb)

The Core model was the one that was plagued by the RROD

The arcade was garbage. Playing games in that vs the pro had a HUGE difference. I remember playing left 4 dead 2 on the arcade and the bodies were dissapearing as i was shooting them. Same with F.E.A.R, the gore wasnt as good and the blood would pretty quickly dissapear from whatever surface it was on and graphically it just didnt look as good

You do know that the easiest way to fix the rrod is right when the rrod appears on the Xbox yank the power cable out then plug it back in, works almost every time
