Everyone shows you how to use xlights but they don't show what to do after your done with your sequence, like how to send it to your player and how to start your show and set it up to play on a schedule, also how to set up multiple sequences on your show player. If you can show how to do this i would really appreciate it thanks

I'll definitely add this video to my ideas list! I do have separate videos that talk about different parts of this process, but never thought to make a video dedicated to just how to upload the sequences and setup a schedule. I do have some other videos I'm making first, so it may be a little while till I can get around to this idea. If you need to know how to do it now, I'd recommend checking out my FPP tutorial here kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ptB6gNOoxr6rhIU.html It is a little outdated, but around 22:45 into that video I talk about uploading the sequences and scheduling them. Hope this helps!

Pretty much all of the Kulp controllers can do this and unlike the Falcon controllers, they are FPP based so not only can they be in stand alone mode, they can also act as the show player and can operate other controllers so in this case, it IS expandable. I believe that the Falcon controllers can do this as well but they don't have the FPP features or easy setup.

Thank you so much for the info! I'll make sure to bring this up in the video specifically about standalone mode.

Do you have to have a SD card for any of the connection methods for the pixel controller or just the last method.
@How2Pixel
@How2Pixel 4 ай бұрын
You only need an SD card for devices running in master and remote mode, or standalone mode. For the rest of the methods, data is being sent to the controller from another device, so you don't need an SD card since there's nothing to store.

Can we run a light show off a router that is not connected to the internet? I'm trying to think why we would really need internet to run a show? This would aviod having to run a giant cat cable from main home router to the light show router. Right!? I'm no expert. Just asking....

No you are definitely 100% correct, in fact I was planning on making a video about this topic at some point for the series. You can run your light show without internet to the router, but there are just a few problems with that. The first is the raspberry Pi or whatever your show player is won't have anyway to get the time. The raspberry Pi uses the internet to find the time so it knows when to start the show. You can fix this by getting an RTC chip or just setting the time manually, and never shutting off the Pi. If it does shut off, it will lose the time and date. Second thing which isn't a huge problem, more of an inconvenience, you can't access your controllers or computers from your main network and you would have to switch every time to the light show network to access them. Finally is if you did have any plugins like remote falcon or something of that nature where it gets data/commands from anywhere outside the light show network, that wouldn't be possible. Now I did have an idea, what would happen if we connected let's say a raspberry Pi with wifi to our home network, then the ethernet side to our light show network's router? Would it allow the entire light show network to have internet and also devices on our home network to reach the light show network? This is something I want to test soon, but at that point it might just be easier to use the bridge method. But your question is definitely valid and you can technically go without internet in the light show network!

@@How2Pixel I looking forward to seeing your test results. My first show ever will be on its own router/network (fpp and quinled controllers(5)/espixelstick). Nothing is hard wired all wifi. I need to get the date to the fpp and its not practical to run a wire from my show router to my home (internet) router.

@@joemoffo9706curious about this. Still trying to do my first light show and bought a dig uno and dig quad. I have a ethernet and external antenna…. But im concerned that my show will be limited to only the dig quad via ethernet adapter, if I can’t use the dig uno to grab data with the external antenna.
