This is the reason why people are always trying different systems, every system has a different experience.

For my new build with 6 15s I built my own subs this time. Had to wait on parts to get them finished so I went ahead and built a series 6th order for them. I just didn't glue the baffle in place in case i needed to make any changes after getting the tsp's for the subs. I got my subs finished and installed to break them in before running the tsp's and it wasn't even close to what I expected it to do. Turned out that they needed a 4th order instead. Switched up the enclosure and it's one of the best sounding 4ths I've ever heard. Bandwidth from 20-60 and has peaks just like a 6th at about 26 and 42. Plays pretty flat through the whole Bandwidth tho. Also really windy like a 6th. So I think it all has a lot to do with the subs being used as to how it's going to perform. This is the 1st 4th order I've ever built and I love it with these subs.

It is interesting that it has two peaks like a 6th. Did you design it for bandwidth originally?

I was just listening to my epic sealed set up in the house ( 4 cerwin vega 12s i put 2 separate towers) while listening to metal thinking NO way a ported setup could do this. So tight fast and sharp impact!!! TOTALLY different feeling hearing a very high power sealed system that has same dbs as a ported
@caraudiolab10 ай бұрын
Completely agree! Sealed is one of my favorite setups!

@@caraudiolab you have to pay a little extra for it but it's worth it to me!! Rock on woo

4th order if you want that sealed punchiness on kick drums and low end bass down to 20hz, just gotta have the right rear and front chamber size and the right sub

@@Antonnn1111 yeah that's what I like I just hate that overhang of ported

I wish u would of added a over sized sealed box. I'm curious

I can always map an over-sized box with the software, but experiencing it is very different. I have heard small systems like this in person, and they loose a bit of their punch, but gain some low end. However, I have never heard a 150+ db system with over-sized sealed boxes. So, it is a little hard to compare for me. I guess you could consider it close to an infinite baffle setup though.

Idk about this man. I sat in Chris Lees 4th order build and Steve Dunkin’s 6th order build and both were painful. Those guys are over 160 db easily. I’ve also sat in a 160db ported wall build and I remember it not being as painful as the the other builds. Imo the db determines a lot more of how u feel than the types of boxes.

That is awesome! In a way, that proves my point! Different builds/enclosures are different experiences! However, I have experienced many flat walls and dual 6th order band passes. In my experience they were very different than your experience! I created my video after experiencing dozens of each and gathering my evidence from others who have experienced both! However, I can completely understand someone who had found a different experience! Also, I have to say that each build is very different! Different vehicles, builds, subs, powers, etc, create a very unique experience. Thanks for your feedback!

@@caraudiolab you are absolutely correct there’s so many variables in car audio which can definitely create different experiences!

@@scottbe1 I have found the biggest difference is the tuning. Something tuned high can make me tap out quick! I have never tapped out from low bass, even at 170 db! Although I was close! :)

Chris Lee did a 180+ this year. Few were ago I believe. But that's not an enjoyable experience. Thats also not a drive around bumping vehicle either but this video build will be very drivable

@@Pittsburgh-412 yes he did at sundown I was there the morning he was breaking the new ZV6s in. Didn’t tap in that build but definitely painful

My friend may I ask you again, which sounds better musically between the u and the vxf? Which one pushes the most air? You said you had both. Ive got a lotof mixed reviews comparing these two subs. Will the u be worth the $100 more in sound quality and performance? The vxf seems really hard to beat for the price but will the coil last? Thank you for your time again.

The U will be louder, probably not to noticeable, but it will be. Personally, I prefer the sound of the U, but noticing those subtle differences can be difficult for most people. The U will definitely take a little bit more abuse and is easy to get a recone for. It is really up to you in the end. If it were me, I would spend the extra $100.
