Most often when customers are choosing between the disc or barrel cleaner it comes down to personal preference, as well as how they plan on loading the cleaner. The barrel cleaner should be used with a conveyor, as the opening where you feed the wood is not large enough for a grapple. The disc cleaner has the hopper style design so you can load more into it at a time from the top. The Disc Cleaner is a bit more aggressive with how it jostles the firewood, but the barrel cleaner is more affordable, so there are pros and cons to each.

We haven’t had any complaints on the barrel tumbler. The barrel cleaner needs to have the belt tensioned once in a while. The disc cleaner is a bit more versatile. Maintenance is pretty low but it does have a whole host of grease fittings as there are pillow block bearings on the ends of each tine shaft.

We are partial to the disc cleaner. By adjusting the angle of the chamber and increasing the tine speed, the wood spends a lot more time in it and the tines are more aggressive with dislodging bark and debris.
