I had a teacher in 8th grade he was really chill but one day he was just a little to comfortable and made some out of pocket sexual joke or innuendo that I understood as soon as he said something along the lines of “size is a preference” and his face when he realized I knew what he said was priceless😂😂 I wasn’t the only one who he had those conversations with that day.

The only scenario where a rambler isn’t ok is in a math class, I had a rambler in algebra as a freshman and it made life 10x worse cause we 100% had time to do our homework in class if she didn’t ramble

Actually even as a kid you can still walk on out of your class if the teacher says that, there is no law saying that you HAVE to stay after the bell, however if it's an emergency or a medical problem, they're allowed to keep you, otherwise, walk on out

I had the rambler in Biology in 9th grade, and he would ramble about biology, but he was actually interested in the subject, and he was fun to talk to. Then in 11th grade I walked into my OnRamps Geo class, and he was back! He spent the entire first half of class talking about his previous job working at a particle accelerator. Also I had an English teacher that I skipped the entire last term after he spent an entire day talking about the first page of Julius Caesar, and I still passed his class with a low B because he never graded or checked attendance. I think I only ever got one absence for the entire term I skipped.

My new teacher this semester is super strict with all these rules and crap, such as "I dismiss you, not the bell" and "to get up, you need my permission" and also rambles on about stuff to the point where we are done with attendance half-way through class. Or basically, the rambler and "the bell does not dismiss you, I do" mixed with maybe a bit of the hardass too.

The teacher that assigns work but doesn’t grade it was spot on. Oh boy. One time I had a teacher and he was super chill, he gave a ton of assignments for homework or class work or whatever. And since he never graded it for the first semester I was like, hell yeah! I’m doing perfect in a subject that I’m not good in! Then 1 week before the marking period He graded EVERY FUCKING ASSIGNMENT IN ONE NIGHT. All I could do is sit there and watch my grade go down, and down, and down into the low 70s. I was never caught lacking again

Here's one I had: The teacher who likes to pick on the other teacher right next door. I had a science teacher who liked to pick on my US History teacher a lot. I can't remember the jokes my science teacher said directly to her, but I remember a time when my science teacher was teaching us about a state of matter called "solid with plasticity", which is a material can be walked on like a solid surface yet can also be poured like a fluid. He showed us an example and said "I threw this at Mrs.(US History teacher)."

I'm a teacher assistant at a shelter and I am that teacher who doesn't care when I have to cover. I tend to just teach what I have to teach and don't really care if you're listening, as long as you're not disrupting the other students who are listening. The rambler in my experience is a W teacher. Not because the subject matter is interesting but because since we don't spend enough time in class covering the topic, she'll postpone the test. Except she does this every test meaning we take less/easier tests. This class is an elective so it's not like we need to learn a certain amount of information in order to not fail next year.

Very interesting to see the students perspective of the teacher. From my standpoint it makes a lot of sense why the younger generation is without hope of competing in the real world. School is there to teach you, to grow strong to face your future with confidence in whatever it is you choose to do. We all might get a laugh about an odd teacher, but to put their idiosyncrasies above your own potential education is madness. Good job, you’re superficial nature just duped you out of a potential leg up in an always uncertain world.

School is not effective now. Not in America, at least. Grades mean nothing, as they are only numbers on a paper. School teaches us now to value status over impact, which is despicable. It’s sickening that we are taught that “good grades = good life” (which is completely false) and bad grades apparently mean you are a bad kid. Why not actually teach us how to be useful to society? That’s all school is good for, really, is to create the next generations workers. We are taught to “sit down” and “be quiet”. We have to raise our hands to ask questions, ask to use the bathroom. We are taught to be submissive. To be weak. I’m sick of it. As a student myself, I have learned nothing of value. Finances? Learn it on your own. Social skills? You’ll never have any in this society. Mental health? Like hell you do, being assigned work every day and being scalded for not doing it! Don’t mistake this comment for ignorance. I believe education is so incredibly important, and fun to be fair. But the stuff we are taught in the modern day is not important whatsoever. There is no mental health class. We are never taught how to be productive in our lives. Never taught how to be successful, or happy. Just work and work, do what you’re told, be a rule follower, and you’ll be fine. I hope this is a good perspective for you, as I feel it is very important to build perspective. Education can be so much more than just assignments and memorizing random things for tests. It can be so much more than a number on a paper.

@@crimson7147 very well spoken. I tend to agree. Great changes are upon this country. There seems to be a dark force trying to dumb everyone down, to fill them with hate and rage, to confuse them. Could you imagine a school that doesn’t try to force you to fit the machine and teaches you who you are? That the path to success isn’t to become a mindless noob at a job you hate just to put food on the table- but to learn to find your passion whatever it may be, and thrive with strength and freedom in pursuing that. In the long run, our country crashing right now, will show itself to be a good thing imho. Once we weed out these dark speed bumps that end up enslaving people that is

@@oooof6861 thanks for your reply. I agree that this country is in a very dark place. Hopefully we can pick ourselves up and turn around before it’s too late. I’ve noticed that people are very weak now, especially men. 100 years ago or even 1000 years ago we had tribes, or groups where we all lifted each other up in the face of hardships. We lack any sense of community now, as there is no time to make friends, or to even think for yourself, as social media has overtaken all the kids at my school. I wish things were different, but I’m glad to see somebody agrees with me on this. Keep on keeping on my friend 💪

2/3 of our class work hasnt been graded by my teacher and we still haven't even presented an entire class project that was due on the last week of october yet my teacher always complains about how we aren't getting anything done this year and how we keep on talking even though she spends max 5 minutes of the whole school day telling us to be quiet and how we're always the problem or something. Even when we got a chill sub for 2 whole weeks and didn't have homework because if that we still got more work done than spending an entire month with my regular teacher lol

our teacher back in elementery school was kind of a rambler. Me and da bois we're such geniuses that we said something to skip the learning part of the class. (we we're dum as shit and realized later that listening to the teacher was boring no matter the thing) EDIT: We also realized it was illegal here in Finland (best country), since 45 out of 60 minutes has to be learning stuffz. its in the law
