Each morning I look forward to that pleasant, "Hey guys, how's it going?" as I settle in to take a (virtual)stroll through a now familiar & favorite garden! How amazing is it that we can gather from all across this country & countries around the world to enjoy this together😁 No matter where we're from, the size of our garden, our different backgrounds, or finances, or ethnicities, or anything else used to separate us - none of that matters! We come together almost every day in anticipation of a new project or plant Laura is introducing, or to chuckle at Aaron & Laura's delightful banter, to see Benjamin grow and play and learn to garden, or perhaps to catch a glimpse of Samantha Grace ...and always the antics of the Russell show😄 Thank you Aaron for nudging Laura to get in front of the camera! Thank you Laura for stepping out of your comfort zone in a desire to help your husband with his passion! We've enjoyed watching you become more confident & relaxed as you've allowed us to follow along on your gardening journey! I imagine you had no idea the community you were helping to gather together... a community that spans the globe, that you've inspired, to make this world a more beautiful place💙

That's exactly what I was thinking. Her soil is loose & workable. It's not that easy when you have clay soil or hard compacted soil or very wet soil. We get so much rain in the spring that my soil is heavy, saturated and muddy. Transplanting hosta's is a hard job for me where I live.

I believe I am so successful because of this channel! Even though I am fairly new at gardening I feel like a professional because of all the knowledge I have retained from Laura. I am so thankful for all the hard work you and Aaron do daily to provide such helpful views for us!

I live in CT in a completely different climate than you have in Oregon. Many years ago I moved a hosta from my mother’s house in NJ to my house in the back seat of my car. It did not like the trip and was all wilted when we arrived here 3 hours later. I separated the huge mass into individual plants and they all survived, We have given many away but we still have some from my mother’s house.

I cannot waste plants either. In fact, I was at my Dad's house once and found where my step mom had threw out her sanseverieria bare root in July, in the drive, I took it home (not that I needed another house plant lol) put it in a bucket of water to stay a couple of days, in a shady spot and potted it, it has thrived ever since, even bloomed last summer.

I’m in the same position. I’m scrambling to get Hosta dug out, some divided and transplanted due to tree removal. The problem in my area of SW Ohio is rain in combination with clay soil and pine tree roots. If I have one I have at least 50 Hosta. I’ve lost track. Hosta are incredibly tough plants. Some of mine are well over 20 years old. When they begin to get too crowded I just dig part of it out and they keep going. Great plants.

Good morning and Happy planting!🌱 I'll be getting out in my yard this weekend for the first time this year😯☺ Oh boy do I have my work cut out for me.. But I had to work up the time and energy for it🌻🌺🌷 I'll need to check on my hostas too..🌱🐌slugs are something I deal with every year,😵 hopefully I can get a handle on it early enough to prevent them from showing up too much! Thanks for the tips.. Enjoy!!😉

It's surprising how much some random person on a youtube channel can change your life. I know that sounds weird but it's hard to find someone who has such a similar gardening style. I always liked gardening but until I started watching, just after you moved, I hadn't truly appreciated how much peace and fulfillment a garden could bring. Thanks to you and you're beautiful family.

Oh, I have a few hosts I need to move...34!!! Honestly I don’t know how you keep up. And to do it all in one day, you just amaze me. Good grief that is awesome you can keep them all. Have a great weekend. 👏🏻💕👏🏻

Thank you for teaching me that when I plant something it’s not final. I used to be paralyzed about planting perennials, trees and bushes, etc because I was so worried it wouldn’t be just the right thing in just the right place. Watching you rip things out and move them around willy nilly has greatly increased my confidence and my yard/garden is looking so much better. ❤️🌸

Thank you for showing us this can be done at this time of year. Would love to see how you dig the hydrangeas! I was so scared to move mine who wasn’t performing in its space and I kept saying “Laura says it is okay, it’s better to move it than let it be unhappy in its current space.” We appreciate your knowledge and input. I would love tips on how to make sure the move is as smooth as possible? How far down to dig, how far to the sides, chopping roots….etc. 😩 It is very scary to do!

I love hostas, too. My now 32-year-old son used to help me watch for them to come up when we lived in Georgia. One day he came running into the house when he was about 4 yelling, " Mom, your hostages are up!" I may have watched too many police shows when he was a kid.

I can soooo relate to getting frustrated with the talk-to-text feature! Most of the time I'm just shocked by what I thinks I said. "Gravy? No I didn't say anything close to gravy!" That's me.

I know! When talk/text was new to me on my first smart phone I was texting my business partner. It came out reading . I love you, I’ll pick up the bread🤷‍♀️🤣 It is how we had a stray (looks like Russell) cat named. I sent a pic of him on our deck to hubs saying look at him...came out as Cinnamon...it’s his name to this day.😊

😂 I have 3 dogs and a cat. I have 2 golden doodles (1 mini and 1 standard) the other is a wiener dog. The doodles are Oliver & Abigail they are always in the garden with me…either helping me dig or running off with my pots, my cat (Alayna) is constantly brushing up against me for attention …and she demands it-she will start to head but me in the face if I don’t stop to pet her for at least 30 minutes! The wiener (Maggie Mae) wants no part of any of it and just prefers to lay on the lawn and people watch or guard watch 😂 and bark up a storm when people are dog walking….even if the folks are clear across the street she will start telling them off. Little Miss Bossy! Makes gardening entertaining and enjoyable and my pets look forward to trampling throughout the flower beds😂 “Cheddar on screen within 2 seconds” pets just have this strong bond to their pet parents..they want to be wherever their pet parent(s) are. I love it and love seeing how Laura’s cats are in all her videos 😊

My day just can't get started until I get to have my coffee with Garden Answer! So glad that the Hosta's have a safe new home! Timing is everything and thank Goodness - you've been given some extra time! Hey Laura - Totally off subject but wanted to share a tip with you. I have some gravel paths through some formal gardens and sitting areas and I use rock salt for a weed free summer - the wind doesn't move it and the rain just melts it slowly so it doesn't bleed into areas I don't want it to. Thought you may want to give it a try.

Good morning Garden Answer world! I love going through this journey with you and Aaron. Do you ever use plant tags in your flower garden? Being a newbie I CAN NOT keep up with all of the plant names, let alone all of the varieties. You seem to just rip them out like the ABC's. I do know you have been in the industry for quite a while, but do you have any suggestions on how to remember names and varieties? Thanks ☺
