@arirupabeda91203 ай бұрын
@@ODST_Republic Yep, technically, the sound from your turntable is produced through an analog mechanism, but what we hear is a "fake analog" because it comes from a digital recording. The case is the same as when you copy an mp3/hi-res file to a cassette tape, then play it. There is only sound colorizing. I think it's a wasteful to copy a digital music onto vinyl as to copy it to cassette tape. Try looking for vinyl produced from under the 70s (where there was no pcm encoder/digital recording yet), you will know the difference.

Analog playback even on a digital recording is going to be different and in my opinion better. Because a stylus and cartridge is more like a natural instrument with internal vibrations all lending to a more natural sound. Think of a guitar string vibrating in 3 dimensions instead of 2.

1. KZfaq compression will ruin the comparison regardless. To really compare this, you'd have to record it directly into your computer's line in jack and provide WAV files in the description. 2. Your ATLP60X is playing too fast. Re-adjust the 33 1/3 RPM speed and then compare again. 3. Modern music is made from a DAW, so the audio quality is only gonna be as good as the master audio file outputted by that DAW. Still, I wouldn't doubt that a record would sound miles better than Spotify's free streaming or even KZfaq. Trust me, I've been into music and audio since I was 10, I know what I'm talking about.

The vinyl is being played at a noticeably louder volume. KZfaq videos also have pretty high compression, I can noticeably tell the difference between a song on KZfaq and even Spotify. Those two things combined result in the vinyl sounding better. To properly test this, you’d need to match the volume for both inputs, and ideally use a CD to get a true analog vs vinyl comparison.

If anything, you only proved that it depends on the input source on which sounds better. All audio through KZfaq will be digital, there is no way possible to reproduce an analog sound with KZfaq, as all things on the internet are digital. All of us listing to this are listing to a digital version of it, where only the input source changed. This means that if the exact same input source was used to record the record, a CD, or an MP3 then all 3 would be nearly indistinguishable.

@joelfrombethlehem - either a MC or MM is capable of being quieter. In some cases, the needle is shaped in a way that can go deeper into the vinyl groove, thus further down past the “surface noise” where a lot of pops and crackling happens. Going deeper in the groove also retrieves more sonic information.

(Hendrix is what I knew in my bones) So I hyper focused on that being that I’ve even heard Band of Gypsy’s on reel-to-reel. My conclusion = Vintage vinyl much to my shock actually sounds better than Mod…. But the BS that comes with it is NOT worth the tiny difference unless you are obsessive AF and have more money than brains. Mod vinyl sounds better than CD….. But again, unless you just enjoy the ritual… not really worth it. I’m not sure what’s happening with the world today, perhaps life is so complicated we are reverting back to simpler times “VHS, Laser Disk, vintage video games… all coming back again !?!” vinyl is a great option for not only ritualistic endeavors, but also a great outlet for inner-self-expression. However, at the end of the day unless you are talking about ultra-complex sounds (No offense, Eminem would be a super shitty example compared to say…Frédéric Chopin, or even Rush) It is from a logical stand point a huge waste of time and money in regards to “sounds better” unless you are into nostalgia for nostalgias sake I’d suggest playing it safe and getting your music in the least-pain-in-the-ass-way as possible. In these trying times…. Nothing really sounds better than saving money where you can.
