The Death Stranding Director's Cut has appeared on PC, effectively delivering a carbon copy port of the existing PlayStation 5 rendition of the game. In addition to new content, PS5 brought with it minor graphics enhancements and 60fps modes - something that PC already did. So in a sense, this isn't as huge an upgrade - but it is a chance to take a look at how a PS5 cross-gen game scales up against a range of PC GPUs... so that's what Alex did!
PLEASE NOTE that while the PS5 vs GPU comparisons are fun, we would recommend RTX users utilise DLSS, which has image quality improvements over native rendering along with a big performance increase.

The PS5 is a price to performance monster. These consoles are sooo much better compared to current hardware than the last gen consoles were at the time its not even funny.

Those loading time clearly show why DirectStorage is required on PC in order to take full advantage of those NVMe drives. Also, it's nice to see PS5 performing pretty close to an RTX 3060 Ti.

I always preferred the trails on the tardigrades... honestly i thought that was how it was supposed to be until I learned it was a bug lol

If nothing else, this video does serve as a reminder that, in purely gaming terms, the PS5 offers a very nice value proposition.

It’s crazy how the PS5 in this game is as good as an rtx 2080 super. Very impressive.

The price per performance of the ps5 is unreal never would imagine the distortion would get this high due to the PC parts and GPU price gouging but even before this happened the price performance ratio heavily favours the consoles

Would have loved to have seen at least 1 current gen GPU from Nvidia and AMD tested like the 3060 or 6600 to see how their newer architectures perform in this title vs last gen.

I feel like this consoles of this generation are the closest to matching the generation's PCs in performance better than any previous generation of consoles so far, the performance of the PS5 and Series X are finally at a level where I would actually consider a console over a PC for gaming purposes.

This one of those unexpected games that I never thought I’d love so much, from the lore the characters and the soundtrack…. It’s much more than a UPS/ FedEx simulator lol

I really like playing this with the haptic feedback controller on PS5. You can feel the weight from the cargo you carry :)

Tflops aren't a good measurement of performance. If that were the case then an rtx 3060 would beat an rtx 2080. But the 2080 is any where from 10-20% faster in 1440p
