I would not say that, I was born and raised in Italy and I suspect that even italians don't eat real italian food anymore. Let me be clear...most of the best italian dishes are quite elaborate and are based on some local ingredients that can be very hard to find outside their original region. So even if I grew up thinking I knew everything about italian food I come to understand that if you want to taste the "real" pizza you must eat one in Naples, if you want to taste a delicious "pesto" you must eat it in Liguria, "pasta con le sarde" in Palermo, "ragú e tortellini" in Bologna and so on. Nowadays even italians don't have time to cook as required by our tradition...so...yeah... McDonald's for everybody.

No? Esatto...quello che stavo dicendo.

It was all perfect until the lasagna, I don’t know why people keep thinking there’s cheese in it, the real lasagna has what we call BESCIAMELLA which is not properly a cheese, it’s a mixture of flour butter and milk. A side that I’m really impressed on how every dish was pretty much looking like the real Italian dish, GREAT JOB 👍🏻

Oh yeah and believe me, for having a lot of friends in Korea and hanging out with them quiet often, I can tell you that Koreans (including ladies) has a lot of separate stomachs lol It's actually impressive, I've never saw anything like them in my entire life, they can go to three different restaurants in the same evening and ask you if you still have some space for a dessert. I'm a good eater, I really am but I can't beat any Korean I know at this game. And the best part, they don't gain weight in the process. One of my Korean friend told me that they have a dark hole for stomach, I think I believe her lol

Makes me realize how lucky I am to have an uncle who’s a first generation immigrant from Sicily. Came here with no English skills, now 3 years later, he and I are like best friends lol. His family makes lasagnas and homemade noodles, and uncle makes tiramisu and limoncello. And in return, I make them cocktails and teach them English via Scrabble (lmao). I’ve started asking him if he’d make tiramisu for my birthday and he does like every other year. I didn’t even know it could come in cake form. He put it in jars one year, then in a massive baking tin, and now he puts them in tin and plastic hotdog containers. And every year is better than the last. Miss that guy now. The "pasta Alfredo" is simply a "pasta al burro" (pasta with butter) that the Americans call like that because it had been made famous among the tourists by the Roman restaurant "Alfredo alla Scrofa". Any restaurant does it if you ask it. Simply Italians usually don't go to the restaurant to eat what they do at home if they have no other ingredients left.

I was working ina restaurant (italian) but everything they did was koreanized , so almost no salt because as soon as you put some "its so salty" Their carbonara was basically tasteless :/ But its nice to know that somewhere they're starting to accept different taste and expand their culinary horizons. Digitalsoju TV No, not one of the best, it’s the best. You know why ? Take all the good stuff cooked in the video, every single one. In italy, they would be better by 20 miles. Remember also we have more than 500 hundreds types of bread, best wine in the world, over 100 different types of “ salumi “, and I could keep going forever. The fact is simple, there so many dishes and variations even an italian could not know them all. It’s impossible. I have seen pretty much all the countries out there, no country could be compared to Italy when it comes down to food. Not a single one.

Dude, Italian food is great. But so is Indian, Chinese, Greek, Korean (BBQ). It's really ignorant to call a certain country's food the best. Apparently the country with the most Michelin stars is....Japan. So on paper, one could argue Japan has the world's best food - though raw fish might not be for everyone. This concept might be tough for you to comprehend..

Interesting video. A lot of “Italian restaurants” abroad are indeed serving something which doesn’t exist in Italy, or which is so far from the traditional version that it wouldn’t be named as an Italian dish (that doesn’t mean it can’t be tasty, obviously! 😀) Funny how all the videos showing the great variety of regional cuisines in Italy have the same Sicilian or Neapolitan soundtrack, even for dishes of central and northern regions 🤣

tricky dick Pizze tonde or basso are common in Rome, but are not from Rome, nor are they unique to Rome. They’re common all around the country. Their only difference is that they use olive oil on the dough to make it crispy. In contrast, rectangular pizza that’s sold at room temperature, cut with scissors and sold by weight is from Rome and is unique.

I think it's important to say that the Koreanized versions of things aren't necessarily "wrong". But the reason that we Italians get so up in arms about our cuisine is exactly because of the reactions in this video. When you have the real, authentic version, it's often better than the adulterated version; there's a reason many of these recipes haven't changed for decades or centuries. But if you like your carbonara with cream, you can make and eat it that way if you like it better. As long as you're at least aware of the original way.
