Dignity of Risk is an important concept that staff should be aware of and support. We encounter risk throughout our lives and just because someone reaches a certain age or requires some degree of support in their day to day life doesn't mean they can no longer choose to participate in activities or make choices that bring with them some inherent risk. But we also have to balance this against our duty of care to the person.
