let me know please... why diffusion pump needed backing pump at furnace machine... and what happen if the diffsion pump start without the backing pump? and after roots pump run and sogevac run, the oil in the backing pump go inside to diffusion pump and exhaust the backing pump have suction...

Dear Roy, A diffusion pump can technically not compress against atmospheric pressure. It is a real “high vacuum” pump and always needs a “fore-vacuum” pump-system to operate. The exhaust pressure of a diffusion pump should typically not exceed 0,1 mbar during constant operation to enable the best high vacuum performance. A diffusion pump can’t start without a backing pump as it needs to be pre-evacuated. The size of the fore-vacuum pump system depends on the throughput of the diffusion pump. If this works at rough inlet pressure and transports a high mass-flow of gases, the fore-vacuum system must be bigger as if the diffusion pump works at very low high-vacuum only. For warming up the pump a small 2-stage rotary vane pump (e.g. TRIVAC B) is therefore sufficient as the diffusion pump works with zero throughput at lowest pressure against a closed inlet valve. When roughing a furnace into high vacuum, such small TRIVAC is too small to handle all gases. For this reason the standard fore-vacuum system (typically 1-stage rotary vane pump (SOGEVAC) combined with one Roots stage (RUVAC)) is then put in line with the diffusion pump. Regarding the oil-transfer in between the diffusion pump and the fore-vacuum system: During normal operation there is a certain oil vapor loss of the diffusion pump into direction of the fore-vacuum system, minimized by the water-cooled fore-line baffle at the diffusion pump exhaust. An oil transfer from the fore-vacuum pump into the diffusion pump is negligible under normal operation.

3:25 What I've never understood about diffusion pumps is this: once the oil vapor condenses and flows down the sides of the pump, how does it get back in to the boiler? After all, the vapor produced in the boiler has to have enough pressure to force its way out of the jets at supersonic speed, so that same pressure would be working against any liquid oil trying to get back into the boiler, right? So how does that work??!

the external tubing in the pump is used for cooling the walls of the pump. the oil vapor condenses when it touches the cool walls of the pump. the condensed vapor is now liquid, sticks to the walls and has enough weight to pass through the jets.

you need to discribe what's hapeninng hier! from where comes the molecules and why? is it cathed all of kind of molecules? how interacted the oil molecules? so how its working? you can't do a kind of animation without any of discrebtion, it's totally amateur.(don't care how awesome the animation effects andt the music, by the way both of which are crappy)
