I heard in an occasion Rafi Sb & Dilip Kumar was present. Audiences came to meet Rafi Sb 1st & was eager to see him.. which Dilip Kumar didn't like. It is evident from Amitabh Bachchan statement that when he was superstar & was part of a charity show with Shashi Kapoor. They invited Rafi Sb to sing for day 1 but on day 2nd other singer didn't arrive. Amitabh went airport & to the plane to request Rafi Sb to sing for 2nd day & he agreed. Amitabh was himself a very big star & still Rafi Sb was above of all.. Rafi Sb had huge public craze wherever he use to go.

गाने में महेंदर कपूर भी रफी साहब के बराबर हीं थे वो 0 % लोअ पिच से 100% हाई पिच तक आवाज़ में गाने की हिम्मत रखते थे .लेकिन किसी भी ऐक्टर पर उनकी आवाज फिट नहीं होती थी जैसे रफी साहिब हर ऐक्टर की आवाज़ में गाने का तजुरबा रखते थे . सिर्फ महेंदर कपूर की बात नहीं रफी साहिब के अलावा जितने भी प्लेबैक सिंगर हुए हैं उनके गीत में ऐक्टर ढूंढना मुश्किल हो जाता था और रफी जी के गीतों में गायक ढूंढना मुश्किल हो जाता है लगता है कि ऐक्टर खुद हीं गा रहा है . रफी साहब ने किसी दस बीस पचास साठ लोगों के लिए नहीं गाया लिस्ट बहुत लंबी है तकरीबन 540 के उपर लोगों को अपनी आवाज दी है

I am one of the biggest fan of Rafi sahib and so of Dilip and Naushad sahib but you people some time in your blind love for Rafi Sahib forget that Dilip and Rafi sahibaan were totally belong to different fields and together they both compliment each other's overall performance but unavailability of one wouldn't effect the other's performance or success in any way negatively, Dilip kumar was equally successful with Talat Mehmood or Mukesh or even with C,Ramchand (1955 azaad) and Rafi would equally successful with Shammi kappor, Rajendra kumar or Dermindra. Now if u guys still stick to your stupid thoughts then carry on, calling day a night would never make it night.

Lot of information is missing. DK always preferred Talat Sahab compared to Rafi Sahab. Regarding the episode there is a slight correction. Initially Naushad ji had invited Rafi Sahab to his home so that both could go to program together but while Rafi Sahab was at Naushad, DK called Naushad saying they would like to go together. Naushad should have told DK that Rafi was also invited by him and all 3 will go together as Rafi Sahab was already arrived; but Naushad ji kept quiet and DK knowing Rafi Sahab at Naushad purposely neglected him and went with Naushad and Rafi Sahab went alone later. DK had even insulted Jonny walker at his home before Jonny walker died. DK's last popular movie was only Ram Aur Shyam there after none of his movies were hit and popular. In whole career DK had hardly 10 movies which were popular where as Rafi Sahab was monopoly from 1950 till 1970. DK also got test of his own medicine. During Sagina when Kishor sung Sala Mein to Sahab, DK had gone to Kishor to meet him since it was his first song with Kishor. Those days Kishor was harassed by some person who used to ask money so Kishor told his watchman not to allow anyone inside gate and Kishor had gone out. When DK came to Kishor the watchman did not know about DK and did not allowed him to go in till Kishor returns. So DK was waiting outside the bungalow of Kishor. When Kishor came and saw DK he immediately scolded watchman and taken DK inside. Those were the days when Kishor was No 1 and in demand.

I think something like that happen to Rajendra kumar too.
