Anybody else notice how Chris Pennie buries the beater for the first phrase, then plays the kick open for the second, then buries again for 3 and 4? That attention to detail is why he's probably was one of the best drummers on Earth

0:57 isn't out of tune. It's just that the harmony is in consecutive 4ths and it isn't something we hear a lot in pop music. There are other bits that aren't perfect but hey. I love it and I love Greg's voice.
@FSBeehol5 жыл бұрын
Annie Samuel That harmony is actually in the original song, it’s not something Greg or Dillinger added... lol.

It's not out of tune, but the harmony track he laid down definitely didn't stay on pitch, which can completely ruin the harmony aspect of it. It's not perfect, but it sounds like something they did mostly just for fun

Don't much care for Timberlake (although that Super Bowl Beyonce shit was maximum trollage, and I respect that). But it'd be damn cool to hear him return the favor to DEP. Chinese Whispers would have a bitching old rockabilly feel if all the 8th notes were swung rather than straight.
@alexfreakdaxer927 Жыл бұрын
Chinese Whispers is too hard, i think than Timberlake can't sing something like that.

@MrWiggerdale123 By the way, I am a musician, and I have been transcribing music for about 10 years. For example, the full score for the original Justin version. (If anyone wants it, just ask.) So I can tell the difference between singing in and out of key.

he would've, the man is a mad genius. still, the concept of the album was to perform identical and 100% faithful recreations of the original songs. from what i understand, the song was first played live when mike patton was doing vocals for the group. as every member of the band actually likes justin timberlake (there's really no reason not to like him), they planned on doing just that for the album, copying it down perfectly with little to no divergence of the original.
@Ryank190811 жыл бұрын
I really like this version. Maybe Gregs vocals aren't quite up to Timberlake's, but, his voice still works for this song. You don't have to be a great singer to have a voice that works with music. Though I do wish Pennie went a bit more overboard for this. He could have had so much fun with that beat.

@MrWiggerdale123 Well, English is not my mother tongue, but if you're looking for the term out of key, here it is. No sorry, it was not to offend the song or the band. It was actually a pretty serious comment - not to be taken for any ridiculous hating. And no, I'm not suggesting, I can do any better job, but I just thought such a technical band like DEP could.

The Plagiarism album is an album of covers. The band's just having fun with words. This current sentence is a "clever" & "biting" insult of something you hold dear, as per KZfaq protocol.

no. you have to listen to something before you can form an opinion. and you have the right to have a negative opinion as well. and you're free to express it. this should be common sense. unfortunately, some people are way too simple to grasp this concept.

I'm a fan on Timberlake and Dillinger. i gotta admit that this is a poor cover, mostly from Puciato's part.. The vocals are weak.
@DavidDuwaer11 жыл бұрын
No. "Dissonant" means in tune, but notes that are not considered to be a nice interval playing at the same time or in succession. This is just out of tune. And it's incredible I get so many negative votes just because I am using my ears. It's not so strange Dillinger didn't do the harmonies well there.. Harmonies are not so hard, but you need to do them more often to master them. And Dillinger never does vocal harmonies. They just don't use it on their songs.
@JonSebastianF13 жыл бұрын
Seriously, this must be joke, right? The only musician who can keep up with the original here is the drummer? And DEP are usually terrifyingly good musicians? I mean, the 2nd vocal at 0:57 isn't even in tune. Why did they just attempt to copy the original instead of doing an actual interpretation of it (aka. "a cover")? - My opinion. ...Really, IS it joke?
