He is an absolute virtuoso.. never liked the dillinger drummers that came after him quite as much. he was the perfect fit for the band, same with dimitri. his single and double strokes were flawless

@@reyntime1950 nah Gorguts was always Gorguts. They were traditional death metal on their 1st 2 albums, and quite good at that, but on their 3rd album "Obscura" they completely lost their minds. Must hear if you haven't. Nothing quite like it.

First time I saw these guys in Syracuse NY (around this time, maybe a late 90s Hellfest?) they had a guy on stage feverishly drawing while they played. All of it was very new. This kind of technical hardcore/Metal wasn't a thing. Deadguy was older and a few others like Creation is Crucifixion had maybe started but not like this. It was great.

Lucky I saw them with Dimi in Europe late 90's. Calculating just came out then. Sickest live energy you'll ever get to witness + they had a flamethrower on stage with them on one song lmao 🤣 brilliant! Latest news they'll be back with Dimi playing live 25th anniversary Calculating Infinity shows on West Coast this summer. Greg's touring UK solo this month with backing band weird enough. Exciting times holy fuck!!

The first time i saw them was when they open for........(Pennie's drum roll).......Candiria and Meshuggah at Coney Island High in the east village which it think it was like $10 or $15 to get in hahaha!

@@lukerogers151 I went to Coachella 2010 when I was 19...mostly for Faith No More, but I really wanted to see DEP, and they were my first metal show. Patton was there for FNM, and Pennie for Coheed...I thought there might be some crazy crossover lol. I wish Chris's playing was more exciting in Coheed, they are boring to me. Glad he's back doing stuff with Greg.

everyone seemed to be pivoting towards more melody at that time. when miss machine came out, i was so excited for it because i knew DEP wasn’t gonna follow that pattern. and then they did. i understand now that bands have to grow, they can’t make the same record over and over again, but at the time? i was pissed. it’s still not my cup of tea, calculating infinity will forever be a massive achievement in aggressive music. converge, cave in, coalesce, botch and DEP. every single one of them have made records that are untouchable.

Jeff Wood of THE SHAT. Adam was already wheelchair bound by this point. His accident happened just before they were gonna record Calculating. Brian was still in Converge at that point, this was likely one of his first shows with them.
