Dim Sum and Tea is the perfect duo! Some of my favorite foods too!

It was pretty good!

I ate at Orchids Gardens recently and the prices and quality was even worse. The egg tarts were $6.38 and you get 3 pieces but they were tiny like bit sized pieces. That was the most expensive out of all the places in town that I've eaten at. I also ordered the Beef Cheung Fun rice noodle rolls and the noodle part were hard and stale and not soft. You could tell it was sitting on the cart for a while because the noodle part was all dried out haha. Rainbow Kitchen we ate at probably about 6 months ago and they were busy on the weekend and we had to wait for a seat. They were also very expensive but we didn't think the food tasted that good so we haven't been back since then haha. Hong Kong Gardens and New Asian BBQ are my favorites as well. I remember when Hong Kong Gardens used to be called Cathay House back in the day and we've been going there since I was a little kid(I'm an ABC haha) You are exactly right about some of those foods being acquired tastes and too intense for some people to handle if you don't grow up eating them!

Yes, I'm Chinese and I've eaten at almost all the dim sum restaurants in Vegas! You are absolutely right, there are definitely some places that are better than others. I ate dinner at Ping Pang Pong last week and the chef specially prepared for me chicken curry that wasn't on the menu and that was really good. Sometimes if they have the ingredients they might be able to prepare a dish for you that isn't on the menu. I actually made a spreadsheet of all the dim sum places comparing the prices and service, but that is probably out of date by now. Inflation has the raised the prices of everything. KJ Dim Sum in the RIO is another place I like to eat at. The service there is pretty good and the prices seem to be lower than Ping Pang Pong as well. That Rainbow Road is definitely a growing area with lots of Asian restaurants! A couple places I like to eat there are Taste and Win Kee BBQ and Noodle. There's also Rainbow Kitchen that serves dim sum, but I found that place to be overpriced compared to the other dim sum places in town and the flavors was pretty average. I plan to make videos of each of these places eventually.

@@bansandoesvegas been going to Vegas once or twice a year since the early 90's. i watched Vegas chinatown grow . back then the hot place for chinses was joyful house. now there are so many more to choose from. i always prefer a chinese restaurant with a balance of food and service, but i always told my kids to not expect service at a chinese rest and as long as they don't spit in your food or throw dishes at you then its all good. seeing that there is such a growing Chinese population in Summerlin i thought sooner or later another chinatown will pop up in that area. very common in a large metro area to have another chinatown in the burbs the Chinese food prices in Vegas are comparable these days to Seattle. can't find a chow fun dish for under $10 these days. keep up the great videos .

I have eaten there! Its definitely the most convenient for me being in the Summerlin area and the prices are some of the cheapest as well. While the gold coast casino charged $5.88 and you only get 2 eggtarts, the last time I was at Dim Sum Cafe they charged me $3.85 for 3 eggtarts. So its basically half the price at Dim Sum Cafe, but its been a while since I've eaten there so I don't know if the prices have gone up. One of the reasons we like going to the Gold Coast is because we gamble there and can get our food comped sometimes.

@@bansandoesvegas The prices have definitely gone up since Covid. I can understand going to ping pong because of comps.

They must have switched chefs because I agree it doesn't taste as good as it used to. I wouldn't say it tasted awful but probably about average. I think KJ dim sum in the RIO across the street tasted better and is cheaper too. I plan to make a video of each dim sum restaurant in town eventually.
