This is the Japanese version and there is a Chinese version called Autumn Strong. It is a story of love and loss. A beautiful woman born in China, but of Japanese heritage, becomes a famous movie star in China. When at the end of WWII, it is divulged that she is Japanese, she is deported to Japan, never to see China again. He was only 23 at the time of this Bastau (‘beginning’) concert in his home country, and had recently returned from China, where he had become an overnight success on a popular tv contest for professional singers. His mother tongue is Kazakh, but he sings in many languages and many genres, and has many original compositions as well as covers. He is Kazakh and sings in 12-14 languages and also has a reported 7.2 octave range. Yes, he sings Opera as well as pop, rock, folk, classical and he has been known to rap also! He really is amazing and also the most humble and down-to-earth, lovely person. I could see your face with some of his pronunciations, but he had been learning Chinese and English together around this time. He is now 29 years old (I think he was about 22-23 in this video) and his voice has just gotten better and better. He is also a multi-instrumentalist and composer and, yes he has worked hard to perfect his craft, and continues to train with teachers and rehearse every day. I hope you do continue on your Dimash journey and i would suggest you look at SOS, Stranger, Olimpico and Sinful Passion to begin with. Lazy, He was so good here, but just a portion of his many register and him being very powerful in all of them. We think we know his octave range is 7 octaves and 2 semitones but he has hit notes outside of this range including one note above the highest note on the piano a D8 which might be a frequency and not a note at all. A good reaction from his channel: SOS from the digital concert show in 2021 a French song but turn the English translation on. This is dimashs signature song that he has been singing since he was 15 yrs old and has great meaning for him. We fans of dimash are called “Dears” as he so named as we are as close as his own family he says. Thank you for your wonderful reaction. Dimash is a rabbit whole not to be regretted and is considered the best vocalist not only living but in a hundred years.
