He is singing in Russian. Dimash is from Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan is one of 16 countries/republics given their national freedom by the USSR in 1991. Dimash was born in May of 1994. His family like many Kazak families thought it best to bring up their children speaking both Kazak and Russian so they are both "mother tongues" to him. Kazakhstan is over 80% Muslim and Dimash and his family is not exception to that. Their Islam seems quite different from Middle Eastern Islam. When you heard him singing "goat trills or rapid melisma's," that is an Islamic prayer for the dead to RIP. The band playing for him here had lost a band member and they wrote this song in remembrance. Dimash, like many Kazakhs is Eurasian. He is 6'3" tall. Kind, loving, he is often seen toting around a child, sometimes of a fan or of his band or backup singers. He is athletic, but is quite busy these days. He is now Dr. Dimash Qudaibergen as he now has his PhD in music. Lat I heard, he was living temporarily living in L.A. He was/is working on a degree in film directing from the L.A. campus of the New York School of Fine Arts. He has also been doing concerts all over the world. Yes, it is a Russian language. He does sing in several different languages and can speak to his "dears" wherever he goes. The "chant" is a native, tribal, melody from his native Kazakhstan, Sir. Now he is 29 years old. Btw His real name is Dinmukhammed (shortform Dimash) Qanatuly Qudaibergen (in Kazakh). The K is only written in Russian as there is no Q in the kyrillic alphabet. Also, the suffix -ov only exists in Russian. So Dimash Qudaibergen. These middle easter sound (melisma) he does in one or another song. It’s really awesome. The thing with the flowers has something to do with respect for the artist. It's a cultural thing. The audience listens to a performance without yelling or screaming that the artist can no longer be heard. No sound may be missing. In return, they then shower Dimash with flowers and gifts. That's the norm there. He then always donates the flowers to hospitals, retirement homes or similar institutions. Russian audiences are more reserved, but that doesn't mean they don't love Dimash. This video Dimash was about 25yrs old. He just turned 29yrs old in May 2023. This is my 1st time commenting like this but Dimash deserves it. He has so many songs. Some he composed himself some from other compossers. I have been following Dimash sinse he was 21 yrs old. There is nobody better or will be. Not in our lifetime. Im 60 yrs old. Im a Metal rocker , bands like Judas Priest, Metallica, Rob Halford, Robert Plant, 2 of many great singers. To many to mention, but Dimash is above and beyond. You dont even have to love Dimash's type of music, but the talent and years of work he has applied in the short time he has been on this earth, is remarkable. The gentleman in the audience is Igor Krutoy. He was a retired billionaire composer, pianist, and writer, who after this performance, asked Dimash and his father if they would allow him to compose music for Dimash. The are several videos where you will see Igor accompany Dimash to songs that he, Igor, composed for him. The song Your Love was written by Igor and Lara Fabian (lyrics) expressly for Dimash. If you continue on this musical journey of Dimash, please let the next ones be All By Myself, Adagio, Ikanaide, and Unforgettable Day. These four were performed when Dimash was 22 and first appeared internationally on the show "The Singer 2017." He was invited as the first foreigner and the youngest performer in the show's history. Aloha! There is no one like Dimash! He can cover songs and make them Into his own masterpieces but no one is blue to cover most of his songs. Welcome into the dears rabbit hole! If you like Dimash, you will certainly be entertained by a Chinese artist called Hua Chenyu. He is more the rock-rapper but he is more theatrical. Dimash sings many different genres, often in the song. Try Stranger from New Wave 2021. It’s very Game of Thrones style and is in English. I’ve travelled to three different countries to see Dimash in concert, and I am 78 from U.K. It is an unforgettable experience. He is truly a special person. Loving and respectful.

The song is in Russian. It was a *Russian* guy pronouncing the *Russian* version of Dimash's *Kazakh* name. While it's a good first guide to pronouncing his name, don't take it as the *right* way to pronounce his name, just the right *Russian* way. For example, the Russian guy starts with a "K" sound, which isn't precisely the same as the actual "Q" of the actual Kazakh name, and adds an "ov" at the end to emphasize he's a guy, which doesn't belong in pronouncing the name in Kazakh. He's just barely what I'd call a polyglot. He's *fluent* in Russian and Kazakh. And he's getting pretty good at English too, albeit with a heavy accent, but I think it'll be another year or two before he's approaching fluency in English. And I've heard he knows a little Mandarin and seen some Chinese videos where he's getting by. But in general he can't engage in conversations in other languages than those four, even poorly. He's pretty much just learning the phonetics of particular songs so he can sing them, and likewise an odd poem or a sentence or two to use in a speech. Don't get me wrong; it's all incredibly impressive. I think he can converse, to a degree, in 3 or 4 languages, and he's learned, phonetically, at least one song in each of approaching 20 languages, and has impressed native speakers in most of those languages. But that's typical Dimash. He's bloody good at everything he focuses on!

Great reaction. Sinful Passion is an old song by A Studio. The piano player is an original member of the band. This was in Russian and Dimash put his own spin on it as he always does. By the way Dimash never entered The Voice the announcer meant The Singer competition in China which Dimash was entered as a wild card and placed second due to rules of the event that only Chinese competitors could take 1st place. The rules were changed in 2018 the year after and Jessie J (English) took out first place. Our Dimash could sing the phone book and still make it phenomenal ♥️❤️💕🕊️

Dee Mawsh - Koo Die Berg N. He's 29 years old this year, and he has been studying/singing music for 24 years. The band named A'Studio that accompanies Dimash, is the same one that composed the song minus the lead singer named Batyrkhan Shukenov, who died of a heart attack in 2015. The song was originally performed in 1998 and the lyrics are by the poet Ilia Reznik together with Baigaly Serkebayev, (the keyboardist with long hair, which we see in the video accompanying Dimash.) The tones in the middle are oriental Arab technique (or traditional Qazaq singing, called Joqtaw. It is a lament to the deceased singer). The last run is 24 seconds on 1 breath. The man in the white shirt giving a standing ovation at the end is Igor Krutoy. This is the first time he heard Dimash. He came out of retirement after seeing this competition to begin his collaboration with Dimash.

There is so many songs you will need to see by Dimash. Maybe try Omir which Dimash composed as a show of gratitude for his fans. He released it on his birthday for his fans and it goes over his life. There are no real vocal acrobatics ( well at least as we think of Dimash being able to do) but it is incredibly beautiful and it shows his humble and sincere attitude. He does a version of Ave Maria also, composed just for him, no lyrics. Just his voice. I have seen many grown men tear up to the song because it is beautiful.

Wow, asking for suggestions regarding Dimash you are brave. Lol I am a 71 year old Dear, widowed. Also in the last 2 years I have lost 2 of my grandchildren, vehicle fatalities and my older sister. I will honestly say that without the voice, music of Dimash I don't know if I could have kept going. If you continue down the rabbit hole I would like to suggest the fan made video by LiLaSi, to Dimash's song The Meaning Of Eternity. And on a different note Golden. Samaltau is heart wrenching if you put on the English subtitles and when you are or if you are ready for full immersion into the soul of Dimash and his wish for peace then his MV, Requiem, The Story Of One Sky. It’s Russian which Dimash speaks fluently, since he was educated in Russian.

You will see Dears giving him flowers after he sings. This is normal for him. Another is what Americans might call yodeling. It isn’t. It is a technique taught to Kazakh and other middle eastern singers. He sings in 14-16 languages and is fluent in at least four. Dimash is currently pursuing his PhD in musicology. I could be wrong, but I believe that vocalization he did without words is done by manipulating his vocal chords. Glottal?? Not sure.
