that fast yodel is called caprino, or tremolo, and he does that on purpose here, also in The Story of One Sky.

23 seconds in one breath with riffs and runs. Unbelievable. He sang this song on the New Wave in Sochi, Russia in 2018. This is an international contest for young performers founded by Igor Krutoy in 2002. Dimash sang here as a guest. This song was in Russian, a language he speaks fluently. The gentleman at the end you see standing and clapping is the famous Russian/Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter Igor Krutoy. He has come out of retirement to work with Dimash. True masterpieces were created. He writes songs that only Dimash could sing with his vocal range, such as Olimpico, Stranger or Ave Maria. You’ll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. The two have no contract. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. It’s more like a father/son relationship. If possible, always watch the videos to the end. Very often there are interesting things to learn. Either there’s something to laugh about, or he’s talking to his audience. He always thanks his musicians. He is incredibly humble and never acts like a star. When he is praised, he constantly says that it is thanks to his teachers and his parents, who made it all possible for him. He’s just incredible. In this case he thanked the band A-Studio. It’s a Kazakh band who wrote this song. However, Dimash sang it differently. And in my opinion, much better 😄. If you like some really great fancam versions then I recommend the one from the Moscow concert: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/q958m9qXq6y5gac.html Or another one from the Arnau concert: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/j7B1n6p5l87Vpas.html They are all a bit different Next please react to Olimpico from his Arnau concert in 2019. In this song he sings in Italian. You can find it on Igor Krutoy‘s Channel. Olimpico is another masterpiece that Igor Krutoy wrote especially for Dimash’s vocal skills. It was written for the 2nd European Games in Minsk, Belarus 2019. And that’s why the lyrics are also very motivating. This song and this performance from this Arnau concert is my absolute favourite🥰 I think this version is the best, because his performance is so intense and breathtaking. The light show, the background dancers. Everything. With this song in this version I always get breathlessness. The way he represents himself on stage, the hand movements. I think he has incredibly beautiful hands🤭(and apparently many cameramen think so too, since many of the camera shots during his performances very often only show his hands. Sometimes it seems as if he is conducting himself. This is really fascinating). And the facial expression, the look. There he looks so commanding😱. In my opinion, this version of Olimpico is one of the most impressive performances ever. If you don't know what the song is about, you'd think he was going to war and is calling his army to a lost battle 😅! It’s absolutely stunning. And I don't even mean the vocal part, but also his stage presence. The whole package. Oh wow I’m starting to rave again…🤤 Sorry but I can’t help it🥺. I swear it is mind-blowing 🤯 kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mtGAhpmlnZrVl2g.html Greetings and love from Germany👋❤️

I would strongly recommend you listen to Unforgettable Day at Gakku when Dimash hits the D8 as it's the best way to demonstrate when Dimash hits whistle register instead of head voice.

Good reaction! It wasn't effects on what you called a yodel. It's a middle eastern version of singing. Kind of a back trill. He does a version of that vocal technique again in Stranger (New wave, 2021).

That was trill, or trillo! Sort of the bottom half of a yodeling session. It used to be done in western music, but nowadays you only see it in Turkic and middle eastern folk music and they all have different names for it.

The band named A'Studio that accompanies Dimash, is the same one that composed the song minus the lead singer named Batyrkhan Shukenov, who died of a heart attack in 2015. The song was originally performed in 1998 and the lyrics are by the poet Ilia Reznik together with Baigaly Serkebayev, (the keyboardist with long hair, which we see in the video accompanying Dimash.) The tones in the middle are oriental Arab technique (or traditional Qazaq singing, called Joqtaw. It is a lament to the deceased singer). The last run is 24 seconds on 1 breath. The man in the white shirt giving a standing ovation at the end is Igor Krutoy. This is the first time he heard Dimash. He came out of retirement after seeing this competition to begin his collaboration with Dimash.

❤❤❤👍👏👍👏 Great comments! About that “yodel” effect, it was the microphone. It was Dimash. He does that in several songs, notably the recent Story of One Sky. To me, the most astounding part here is that final series of vocal acrobatic s lasting 22 seconds done in k e single breath!!!

@@grego2280 Like I said originally, it was all him. No microphone effects. There is also a video of him rehearsing earlier that day. And before you ask if he was rehearsing or recording to play it back for the audience, the practice and the live performance was different in some places so it couldn't be recorded to play back while he was there during the live performance or it would be identical to earlier. 👱‍♀👱‍♀👗👗👠👠❤❤

@@shanialover yeah there's also a high quality live performance of this song where he's wearing totally different clothes on a different stage and he does the same effect, but the end of the song is even better IMO.

@@Tcheera I am not familiar with another time Dimash sang Sinful Passion. If you have a link for another time he sang this, other than the rehearsal earlier that day, please let me know as this song and Opera 2 are the 2 songs I have only seen performed once in front of a live audience. This was a special performance with the band that sang this originally to honor the member that passed away. The drummer/percussionist from this band, A-Studio has worked and travelled with Dimash ever since this performance. And the tall man in the front of the audience with the white shirt that stood and clapped is Billionaire composer Igor Krutoy. He also joined Dimash after coming out of retirement in order to compose songs for Dimash and to rework existing songs to fit his abilities! He also usually plays the piano for the songs he comes up with. 🎶🎶👱‍♀👱‍♀👗👗👠👠❤❤

@@shanialover If you search youtube for "sinful passion moscow" or "sinful passion live moscow" it has a lot of non-english characters in the HQ edit, but now I even found another very low sub channel with a good recording as well! He's dressed in all sparkles, it's hard to miss once you find it and SO GOOD (but what can I say he always is!)

Y know there are many great singers, but most are very CONVENTIONAL,and only Dimash is young man of a generation,he can sing from OPERA,TO RAP,dind me a top world class singer, that can do.No that is no mike,i am an experienced manin the art of musicality,he is an olda soul,he came on a mission,he is revolusionaizing everything on music. One great Vocal coach saYS CORRECTLY THAT IS LEONARDO DE VINCI OF MUSIC,nothing is relative, everything is real, like a theory of conspitaacy tommorow is very real, that is proved every single day,he does a male voice, female voice,an ANGEL VOICE AND ANY OTHER VOICE THAT NO ONE EVER TRIED AND WILL NOT ,BUT dIMASH IS A PHISICS OF THE ART OF MUSIC,I HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING HIM FOR 7YRSi have heard it all,and nothing comes near this young man,if i said young it is because i could be your grandfather, played many yrs,had a very high voice, also, but never in my mind someone could arrive on the planet and present the beauty ,flawless, angelic.on pitch beautiful voice,I am not taking the merit of great young and old vocalists that have beautiful voices,if he takes a cover he does never copy it ,but he makes it his own,and the original singer ,better forget it,i believe he has stopped doing cover,he might in the future do a few and surprise the human on this planet,THAT IS FACTUAL,THE REST IS BALLONY,YES A LOT EGOS,JEALOUSY,ENVY,but he such an humble human ,he is unbeatable at the moment,if y listen to all,and there ia a huge playlist of Dimash ,high, lowsand everything elase he does ,and he is his own man1

This is a cover of Sinful Passion originally by A´Studio. The bass and the piano players were part of that band and the second was one of the songwiters. 4:17 the greeting/farewell to the spirits inherited from Turkic/Tengrenist traditions in certain muslim tribes in the ancient Turan to pay homage to the ancestors and spirits of nature. In Spanish I know it as "hammering vibrato" or "glottal vibrato". In Iran I heard they call it "che-che". It is not yodeling but an ethnic technique relative to yodeling but needs more control on the notes you sing than in yodeling. 3:50 SO DIFFICULT songs that make the singers cry - 2 (ENG SUBS) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rpl1iqWVkpe3ZZ8.html

Whistle register is different for each individual singer (if it's even available to them). Dimash's whistle register doesn't start until about F#6 (where he has to change his vocal placement to whistle to reach the note). When he is utilizing whistle, he can extend up to a D8.
