Ukrainian is also a beautiful language. He dedicated the song not only to his Ukrainian Dears but also to his mother in the audience. It's always very moving to see his mother crying here. I honestly do not understand at all how it is possible to say that Dimash is only "one of the best singers"?? Do you know someone who is close to his league?? I saw yesterday in one of the comments that Dimash created a genre by himself.. This "club" unfortunately/fortunately does not have another singer who can enter.. "Marigolds" is the crying unnoficial anthem of an ukranian that had to emigrate because of the Holodomor: a man-made famine in Soviet Ukraine from 1932 to 1933 that killed millions of Ukrainians. Each time he sees marigolds remembers his mother, who could not emigrate, as she planted and took care when he was a child. As he could not see her in her older age he imagines her old hands in the flowers. La madre no llora solamente de emoción por ella sino porque sabe lo que la canción significa. Y NO podríamos dedicarle esta canción a nuestras madres salvo que fueras un emigrado en situación de guerra. The Ukrainian Dears gave him a traditional Ukrainian shirt and Dimash wore it to everyone's amazement and delight at the opening of this concert. (Whole concert on Dimash's channel) Dimash learned this Ukrainian folk song overnight for his Dears and he also sings to his mama… so touching. His mom is in the audience. She is a well-known and excellent classical singer in Kazakhstan. Dimash also loves it when his Dears sing with him and everyone in Ukraine knows this song. ARNAU - that means 'Dedication' because Dimash dedicated this tour to his Dears. Unfortunately it will be interrupted for over 2 years. His first concert after the pandemic was in 2022 in Dubai. It was not part of the Arnau tour. Then Dimash canceled the Arnau concert in Belarus because Belarus supports Russia in the war against Ukraine. I respect Dimash's attitude very much. This concert in Kiev was not long before the current war.. An incredible concert, worth watching the whole thing! Also his rendition if War and Peace is very powerful and of course poignant at this time. Dimash makes his concerts very relevant to the country he is in.
