This is one of my favorite Dimash performances. I love his voice always but I also admire the baritone. His voice is so solid and rich, which serves as an anchor to Dimash’s lighter-than-air coloratura. This song, “Tu vas me détruire”, is from the musical “Notre Dame de Paris”(The Hunchback of Notre Dame), but it is not a duet in the musical. It was sung by Frollo, the archdeacon of Notre Dame, who moaned about how his lust for the beautiful gypsy Esmeralda will destroy him, but he was unable to resist the temptation. I guess they changed it into a dual scene to make it a duet, which is a fantastic idea. This is one memorable performance. So much talent for such young age!

Okay...the song is from a musical called Notre Dame de Paris. This clip is actually from a TV show in France called "this is opera" (I think) and these two singers performed it there. Dimash was never in the actual musical. Notre Dame de Paris is a musical. The picture shows a duel and the singers have a dueling pistols in their hands. They rivals for the love of Esmeralda. Dimash was special guest in the Russian show Big Opera and sang with his compatriot classical opera singer bariton Sundet Baigozhin.

This is one of my favorite Dimash performances. Riveting.

Partner, I for one love your "play by play!" It amused me because it was like they were fighting with their voices. But if you watch closely ya boy shut him down! And ol' boy shut up....like he couldn't hang! That's my urban take on it, but having lived Europe I've seen this live by other performers. Of course nothing compares to Dimash! He takes no prisoners when he sings! Loved it!

YOU FOUND IT! This is Sundet Baigojin, Dimash's fellow country, who was participating in an opera competition. He, of course, invited Dimash to sing a duet with him in one of his presentations in the competition. They created this pistol dual (hence the photo) song/scene from the opera "Hunchback of Notre Dame". "Tu Vas me Detruire" translates into "Your Love Will Kill Me" (regarding Esmeralda)

This performance's background I've heard is like this : The baritone singer is called Sundet Baigozhin (Сундет Байгожин), From Kazakhstan. At that time he is participating in this Russian opera program (competition). It is said that, In some episode he needs duet. So he invited Dimash to cooperate with him. It should be a video of 2016. The song they performed was "Tu Vas Me Détruire" (You will destroy me), From the French musical "Notre Dame de Paris" (The Hunchback of Notre-Dame). The song expresses the struggling of the Archdeacon - Claude Frollo. The original version is not a duet, This New arrange is from Sundet and Dimash. The photo is in the cue : Two men's duel. The original book is from Victor Hugo's novel in 1831. [Plot] Claude Frollo - the Archdeacon of Notre Dame. And his raised children, humpbacked Quasimodo, The person who rings the bell in Notre Dame. they have fallen in love with one Gypsy Girls : Esmeralda. I also read some more interesting explanation. They think Dimash and Sundet interpret the same person : Archbishop (Claude Vorolo) , Just, one person representing bright, one person representing the dark side of the Archdeacon's heart.

this song is from popular french musical Notre Dame de Paris. the picture is duel. it's about plot of a musical (and a book). well, the song is about "you will destroy me" which is dedicated to Esmeralda, gypsy hot girl. but in the scene it's almost like the duel between Pushkin and Dantes, famous russian poet was killed by Dantes. they were dueling about a girl too. kinda like that

Oh! I love when Dimash sing soprano! It sounds beautiful! Ps. In the picture a duel of two men. A duel on pistols was a frequent way to resolve a dispute between two men (most often a dispute over a woman) in the 17-19th centuries in Europe and the Russian Empire. As a rule, during the fight, only one pistol was loaded, and the duelists did not know which of the pistols was the bullet. The dispute was resolved by the death of one of the duelists.

My favorite is in Russian is such deep. Is written by a well known French classical writer Victor Hugo, he also wrote Le miserable. If you don't mind reacting to the Russian version.
