Well Dimash is Kazakhstan, and of course they are proud of him. They are not Russian, they are independent, and because they once were part of the Soviet Union they can speak Russian and Kazakhstan. Honestly I find myself defending Dimash too, although Dimash doesn’t need defending, there are some of his songs that ai don’t care for, but I didn’t care for them when other singers covered or originally sang them either, his talent makes what he sings look simple, but I assure you, the techniques, textures, breath and vocal control and range, with purity of tone, are Herculean difficulties, I mean major, that the majority of singers can never reach, and those with the top ten hits can not figure out, how to do, and I’m a native Southern Californian, having have waited on, and met celebs in music, sports, and actors, many, but not all, have crap attitudes. Dimash as a young independent artist, I have never heard or read of him ever criticizing other singers, nor have I seen or heard reports of him being condescending, or impatient with his fans, which is rare today. I believe he Is the most talented, and versatile artist in the world! And I know just enough about music to know what he does is once in a lifetime talent! Thank you for this reaction! Yeah some are over the top I am 6 years into Dimash and Dimash would not approve of anyone sending hate, only love. This was during the Covid peek era Dimash put on a show for his fans, Dimash is very kind, charitable and thoughful. World class guy.

A bit iffy on the wings? Well that's ok. The lyrics of course speak of wanting to be a bird, to fly high and see the world from upside down in case it was more beautiful from above. This is a character who is fighting undercover corruption, filth and cruelty in the corporate world, who has just discovered his girlfriend shot dead by the bad guys. He can't take the world anymore. He wants out. If he could fly to heaven or go to another planet he would do it, but he's stuck here in this mess of a world, in mental agony. His girlfriend has escaped through her death. He whispers 'Sleep child, sleep' to her body at the end as he kneels over her. He is alive. He has to go on. It's a song of being trapped in your body. The people who made this song famous, Daniel Belavoine and Gregory Lemarchal both died young. Daniel in a plane crash and Gregory from cystic fibrosis. They have angel wings now. So you can understand how the wings were relevant in this case. A mark of respect and the hope of escape.

Dimash is singing SOS by Luc Plamondons a Canadian lyricist which he wrote in collaboration with the French composer Michel Berger. The rock opera is called Starmania, and includes SOS about an “earthling" in distress. Regarding the wings. Dimash is Kazakh and national animal of Kazakhstan is the golden eagle, a symbol of independence, freedom and flight to the future . He often uses this motif.

“SOS d'un terrien en détresse” tells of an earthly being that is in distress and asking for help because he never felt well in his own skin, he better wants to be a bird to see the world in case it could be more beautiful when seen from above. Luc Plamondon wrote the lyrics of SOS about a very distraught young man who just lost his lover causing him extreme questioning of his own existence. Finally being by her lifeless body, he is able to let her go “in peace“ with the words ‘sleep, my child, sleep’. It is a part of an french Rock-Pop opera released in 1979: Starmania. One of the 5 most difficult songs in French language. It was recorded by Daniel Balavoine in 1979 or so and Grégory Lemarchal won of the French reality singing competition Star Academy 2004 with this song.

I'm always a little confused by everyone saying they are angel wings. Considering the lyrics, "I would rather be a bird", I would think they are bird wings.

Dimash isn't Russian, he is a proud Kazakh! He has fan clubs in more than 120 countries in the world, and this weekend he performed to a full house in Budapest. In the audience were "Dears" from 77 countries. I wonder if any other artist--independent, not signed to any label, by the way-- in the universe attracks fans from 77 countries to one concert? Anyway, he may not be a "golden god" but he sure must have somethin. Don't be offended when people disagree with your ratings--it's nothing personal, not hatred: probably just frustration when a music person doesn't "get" that he's listening to the finest vocal artist in the world, composing and interpreting songs no one else could even attempt! Ratings are always a losing proposition, unless you make it clear the rating is just for personal taste, as in "how much I liked it!" No one can argue with that! Most reactors have said the majority of Dimash fans are very polite and kind. Since he's at the very top--as in any creative field--Dimash has a number of dedicated haters who follow him around from channel to channel and do their best to make him and Dears look bad, so there's that! I don't think those are angel wings. They were probably representing the wings of the phoenix or the golden eagle, Kazakhstan's national symbol that appears on its flag! If you want to see Dimash with angel/swan wings, watch the music video for The Love of Golden Swans, or the live performance of Ave Maria at New Wave, where the wings are invisible but many viewers believe they have heard the voice of an angel on Earth! You won't catch Dimash being "pretentious." He's probably the most humble and natural artist imaginable.

I wouldn't assume that the hate comments directed to you were coming from Russia necessarily. In previous comment threads I've noted that the most sensitive to criticism of Dimash's fans are in his own country of Kazakhstan. There are actually many in Russia who don't yet know who he is, while everyone in Kazakhstan knows and adores him for the attention he has brought to their country. It's a shame that any fan from anywhere would direct hatred toward you for offering an honest reaction.

Why people want horror and choose to dance with evil, ugliness, fear and death I don't get except that they have a dark hole in their soul. I stopped by out of curiosity. Pretty predictable reaction considering your personality, flip attitude and taste in things. Yeah. .you might get some negative feedback. Dimash is the complete opposite. He is the epitome of healthy balanced goodness that is the best of humanity. He is special in that he touches peoples hearts and provides deep joy to millions. . Hes not eccentric.
