He touches his hair backstage. 😆 Dimash will also sweat through his concerts. He runs around and dances for about 3 hrs. Someone usually comes out with a towel and pats his face but he doesn't let them stay long, lol.

Stranger is an epic song with touches of medieval, Gregorian and even a march together. I love Dimash’s different voice textures specially the Middle East vibes in those riffs and runs 🎤❤️🔝🎼👏👏 Igor Krutoy said “It was Dimash’s talent that inspired me to write this song, his immense vocal abilities and his desire to sing for a large international audience. Franky, I don’t see anyone else who could perform this piece in such a way” The gentleman playing the Kobyz is master Olzhas Qurmanbeck, the best player in Kazakhstan 🎻🔝 Kobyz is an ancient tool of the people who lived in the East, including nomads. It was used in ancient times by steppe shamans-healers for various rites. Kobyzy is made from a single piece of wood. This is one of the oldest ways of making musical instruments in the history of mankind. It is not due to technical backwardness or the lack of metal devices. According to the ancient beliefs of many people, only in a single piece will the living singing soul of the tree remain, which will sound in the instrument. The open body and strings of the kobyz from a bunch of 30-60 untwisted horse hair give a very thick, overtone-rich timbre. The Kobyz is the first stringed instrument ever. Great reaction 👍👍

👍Thank you for your appreciation. Something to say about this song: Dimash loves poetry, philosophy and he is a believer, Muslim. And he loves symbols. Look at this song with more attention, both the lyrics which have a deep meaning, and the elements of the decor (look at the background images, the number of choristers, the candle lit then extinguished....) She is the 1st part of a triptych (Stranger, Fly away, and finally Ave Maria). The whole is a message about Life. Here Dimash speaks of the incarnation of the soul, the birth. This reading invites us to understand certain "invisible" things. Dimash is not only a singer, a musician, he is also a messenger, in my opinion. Greetings from France

Two more songs in which the string instrument, the Qobyz, is played by master soloist Olzhas Qurmanbek: Samaltau (Kazakh traditional for the Tokyo Jazz Festival 2020) and Qairan Elim (dramatic music video co-directed by Dimash). There you can see more details of the Qobyz in close-up shots.

It is completely out of the ordinary how Dimash Qudaibergen manages to convey extremely different emotions by singing almost exactly the same lyrics but using different dynamics, a different key, a different timbre and different sound production techniques! It begins with the shyness and doubt of a stranger who enters a territory totally alien to him (when he plays in piano mode and with sounds surrounded by encouragement), he moves on to the desire to test his strength to achieve a new beginning in music. life. (then when he achieves that magnificent passage through the entire spectrum of his vocal range using very different singing techniques in each register) and finally reaches the power of the victorious hero who not only tried, not only fought but finally defeated him (when he shows us the power of his belt and that super long high note of 20 seconds)! I only marked 3 moments, but they were more because between the choruses there were 2 slightly different moments of narration, but both in their register under the bass-baritone and there was another chorus (in total there were 4 choruses and two parts a little more of the story , all in different dynamics, different tonalities and very different vocal techniques interpreted impeccably from a technical point of view, but also with strong emotional effects in the sense of an impressive and maximum effect on the public that practically listened to the almost entire song hypnotized) ! For me it was the perfect song of the moment and it was a sublime demonstration of how far Dimash Qudaibergen can progress even though he is already far above his contemporaries. In this song he covered from C2 to F6!

Dimash, Igor Krutoy (Conductor and composer), Yerlan “Erlan” Bekchurin (arranger) and Olzhas Qurmanbeck (Master in playing the Qoobyz or “Kobyz”, which is a two-stringed, bipolyphonic instrument of Turkish-Kazakh origin, very sacred in Kazakhstan): The Magnificent Four! We also have lyrics by Sharon Vaughn (USA) and arrangements by Dimitri Kontopoulos (Greece) and Yerlan Bekchurin (Kazakhstan)!

Hello, my dear. I`m glad you could manage to post your reaction. To your questions: The music is written by Igor Krutoy, the lyrics are from Sharon Vaughn. The string instrument is a traditional kazakh instrument called kobyz, that is used especially for spiritual music. It has only two strings and is made of only one piece of wood. It`s the eldest string instrument in the world. Dimash loves to add kazakh instruments into his performances, to spread the kazakh culture. Also the sound of this instruments effects your soul and gives more depth to the song. You pointed out, that Dimash is very professional. He very rarely does a useless gesture or movement. He is very much into the music and ignores such feelings like thurst or sweat or tiredness or aches or fever or something like that... just as if he was an instrument. But he isn`t btw ;). But although he is a very admirable human being, Dimash also is music.

Nice reaction again! I think Dimash held that last note for "only" 18 or 19 seconds. In one concert, Dimash's mom came up to wipe the sweat off his face! He was very sweet to her, even though he was in the middle of a concert in front of who knows how many people! There is a cute clip of it online somewhere.

THANKS for your reactions to Dimash!!!!…..Stranger . New song performance at Sochi Russia 2021. Begin using folk arrangement like “KOBYZ“ beautiful Kazakh two cords instrument and his live singing is impeccable like always, soft, DEEP(C2/F2), powerful, crazy high voices(F6), amazing Arabic riff modulations, beauty melismas and a crazy end riff of 19.52 seconds(F#5). Music Igor Krutoy and lyrics Sharon Vaughn….greetings from a Mexican Dear! 👏🏻❤️🇲🇽🇰🇿

Glad you were able to get this great reaction up, yay! 🎉Your reactions are always fun. The instrument is Kazakh, called a Qubyz, which is considered to be the ancestor of all stringed instruments, including the violin. I think that last note was 17 seconds long, so not his longest held note, but amazing as always. The interesting thing about Dimash’s Middle Eastern/Kazakh melismas is that he learned and mastered it on his own, according to his childhood vocal coach. He uses it in some of his other performances, like Hello, Know and Jasmine (collab with Wu Tong). Speaking about commitment to a performance, you may also be interested in checking out Hua Chenyu. Most Dears also appreciate Chenyu. I consider Dimash to be the greatest singer in the world, but Chenyu is one of the greatest artists. If you ever do him, you should start with Nunchunks, then False Monk, and then go on from there. Cheers!

The instrument is the Kobyz. It's a 2 stringed instrument, with one string made up of 75 horse hairs, and the other string made from 60 horsehairs (and the curved bow which is made with 40 horse hairs). The strings aren't pushed down to a fret, but rather are played with pressure by either the fingernail, or by a pad on the finger, as well as the tones varied by the pressure of the bow.

Believe it or not, but Dimash still trains to this day. People who reach a certain level of Mastery, whether it's Vocals or Instruments, they stop or decrease in there trainings and exercises, but not Dimash. Btw the Instrument that started us out, is a Traditional Kazakh Instrument called a "Kobyz", also this song was written for Dimash by someone other than Dimash or Igor, I forgot who wrote the song.

did u know Strange is the first original song written by an American artist? Sharon Vaughn. Igor did the music. why do u think Dimash chose this song? what is he trying to tell us? is he saying he lived in the past & reincarnated? or does it feels like a dream? interesting choice, but loved it!
