Yes! He is so amazingly gifted in conveying emotions through his music. I find myself thinking of tunes without knowing the words but feeling the emotion. It's hard to say which one is my favorite performance ... It's whatever the last song I heard Dimash sing or the next one I'll hear him sing! Thanks, again, for really helping us gain more from each of his performances! Every time I hear him, it seems like a new performance, too!

Colleen, I was thinking about the same thing! In SOS there's the line 'at the great lottery of the Universe/I didn't draw the right number', and the opposite is true of Dimash: he is gifted beyond belief, and has had the utmost support from the very start to develop his gifts; he grew up surrounded by the love and devotion of his family and environment. And still, he is utterly credible when he sings that. The fact that he 'gets' the heartbreak that's there in many of the songs he chooses to sing (this one, SOS, Korlan, Daididau, Late Autumn, Daybreak, etc etc) and is able to convey it in a way that people sense it, and are even overwhelmed to the point of tears, is a testament to what it actually means to be an artist. Dimash is a true artist through and through, and he can enter into human emotions and bring them out and communicate them with intensity, even when those emotions might not arise from his life experience. You need a special kind of HEART to make great ART, and he's got it.

Mari, what you said is so true. I love your, "You need a special kind of HEART to make great ART." I am also amazed that Dimash sometimes sings in a language that is foreign to him and also foreign to about 40-50% of his fans. Still, he's still able to these convey haunting emotions or ones concerned with national pride (Tugan Zher) to those of us who don't understand a word. That's amazing. It's also Dimash's creative and skillful use of power of music that transcends any cultural barrier. He's one of the our best and strongest ambassadors for world peace today.
