I felt genuine pain when I saw this and thought that some of my brother and sister Dears have been injured and killed on all sides of conflict in so many countries. It breaks my heart. It took Dimash three years to make this video, so his concept of it came way before the current wars. Wars tend to repeat themselves around the world and throughout time. I can't wrap my head around how many innocent people have lost their lives due to hate throughout our bloody history on this Earth. It is time for it to stop. Demand peace, not death. We all live under One Sky.

This mv is the end result of 3 years work for Dimash. He wrote the story, he composed the music, he did the screenplay & he always takes an active part in the direction & production of his work. He is an advocate for peace & has been invited to forums to speak about it. The child in the video is meant to be Dimash's child & his wife is giving birth to their 2nd child. The Dictator was their friend & saved Dimash from drowning as a child. He also loved the girl but she chose Dimash. The house that Dimash went back to was his family home where he finds all his family, including his little girl, dead. He presumes his wife is also dead, so he goes to stop his old friend, the Dictator & gets killed himself as he feels he has nothing to live for, not knowing that his son was being born. His wife died giving birth & the boy grows to carry on his father's search for peace. It is Dimash's masterpiece! Thank you so much 😊🙏💕

Dimash stand-in is the long-haired boy who saves the drowning boy becomes the Dictator. The girl shot is the daughter of Dimash and the girl on the beach who became his wife. No, this isn't a film. It's a masterpiece🥰. A mini-movie. In The Story Of One Sky he composed and sang the whole soundtrack himself. The video shows once again that Dimash is an absolute genius. In composing, in singing but also as an actor and as a storyteller. The powerful message conveyed by this video is more relevanet today than ever. I think this video is mostly about the message. This message however, is for the first time more important than his vocal abilities. His voice is just the tool in this video. But simply unbelievable. His singing is indescribable and I don’t have the words to express it adequately. But it is only the mediator of what this video is about. This is so heartbreaking and sad and an awesome masterpiece. Pure goosebumps. You probably have to see it more than once to understand it. He worked on this composition for three years and also wrote the screenplay. The premiere was on September 24, 2022. As some have mentioned, this video should be seen by many people. It may be very brutal for some. But let’s not forget that for many, including children, this is everyday life in some countries. And Dimash relentlessly shows us how ugly war is. During his concerts he always tells the audience he loves all people in every country. He visited so many different counties with his concerts and he realized that there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And OMG he is such a phenomenal actor. Dimash was the little boy who was drowning in the beginning and he gave the necklace to his childhood friend (and future leader) and the girl. The girl on the beach was his future wife. She was pregnant and in the end of the video she gave birth to her and Dimashs' (character) second child. The littel girl who was shot was Dimashs and her first daughter. When he came home and saw his daughter dead on the ground, he had to assume that his wife and unborn child were also killed. Desperation and maybe revenge has led him to kill his former friend. When I first saw the video, I was shocked. I didn't think he was going to shoot his friend. But in the end that all made sense. Dimash wanted to show what revenge can do. Violence always breeds violence, and because of this, not only is the leader dead, but so is Dimash. It was so heartbreaking to see Dimash drown at the end. Dimash in the last sequence of the video was the baby that was born and now as a grown man unites people of different nationalities and religions for peace. In this video you can see how the main religions are represented mostly with his voice. Islam with the type of Arabic melisma (unfortunately I don't know the correct explanation for this type of singing), Buddhism with the monks and the enchanting "Ohm", Judaism with the shofar and the Christian church with the soprano singing, which often can be heard in churches. When I first watched this MV, it broke me, I became very emotional, it was heart wrenching, to say the least! 😢 Have you noticed that Dimash is the main solder right from the very beginning of the war scene, when he was walking under the overpass, also when he was shot in the arm, many people miss that? Dimash has worked very hard for 3 years composing the music for this song, and around 20 days to make this MV. It turned out to be his most valuable MV, in the ideological sense, ever made, a real Masterpiece! I believe that Dimash deserves THE NOBEL PEACE PRIZE for his selfless hard work and tireless efforts, not only for this MV, but for trying to bring the world together in love, peace, and harmony and through his many charities. He is a Legend in the making and will go down in History. This is my breakdown of the story, as I see it: This mini movie is full of symbolisms, it's the story of 3 youths, and the necklace which was created by the young Dimash and shared with his friends symbolizing lifelong friendship and unity. The boys both loved the same girl, but she loved Dimash, so the other boy grew resentful over time, started a war, using the symbol of the necklace given to him by his friend Dimash, as the crest on his army uniform. 1) Dimash, was the boy drowning at the beginning and at the end. 2) The Piper, is the one who saved Dimash, became the leader, and was killed by Dimash at the end. 3) The young girl, who died in childbirth, became Dimash’s future wife, had two children together; a daughter who was killed by the Piper's army; and the birth of a son who inherited the necklace from his mother…, they were all affected by the war. “People are the caravan…. Life is the way”: Dimash spoke these words in Kazakh, when he found his daughter dead. For the symbolic aspects, Dimash is showing the different cultures and religions (Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hindi, etc.), through throat singing, which is called the REQUIEM (mass for the souls of the dead), from different religions. If you think about history, changing symbols of peace to visuals of war is not new. The Tibetan peace sign was inverted and is now the Nazi symbol. So in Dimash's mini movie, his sign of friendship was filled in and used to represent the aggressors of war. This is Dimash's MV, not a movie. It took 3 years to make, from idea of the song to the completion of the MV. The screenplay was Dimash's ideas. Dimash was the boy who was drowning, the other boy was The Ruler and the girl was the wife, who gave birth.

The idea of the video belongs to Dimash. He worked on it for 3 years. They show their childhood then their adults. Dima takes out a friendship pendant and shows how a woman takes out the same and hugs a girl. This is their daughter. The dictator has an inverted sign, he is also a boy, the one who saved Dimash as a child. The girl is pregnant, she is giving birth. And the daughter was killed when she returned for a toy. Dima is experiencing mental pain from the loss of his daughter, and she is experiencing physical pain from childbirth. Dima is angry at the dictator, he personally hurt his family, his daughter was killed. And he goes in a rage to kill him even though they were friends. He's killing the dictator. The guards kill him. He remembers life dying and returns to the moment when he drowned. At the end, they show it before and the whole picture comes together. And of course Dimash died. They show how his wife's jewelry is handed over to a newborn boy. And then he leads people of different religions. This is his son. It seems to me that the boy who became a dictator was jealous of the girl for Dimash.

Director Alina Veripya spoke about creating the music video for the new song: the clip is divided into several parts. The first is about childhood. This song is a "modern" multicultural interfaith Requiem (the traditional Requiem is a song for the Mass of the Dead in the Catholic Church. The best known requiem is by Mozart I think). The Requiem usually has 2 parts: one mourning death and the other celebrating life. Dimash says in a low voice: Адам керуен, өмір жол. Man is a caravan, life is a road. (Kazakh proverb) So for me, the caravan is his (and our) inner world. Religiosity is in us, the religious man dies when a part of the soldier (Dimash) dies when he finds his daughter dead. So when he seeks revenge, there's a storm. Death follows death: Piper dies but the soldier (Dimash) dies too. Death is not the answer. And so violence is not the way (You can murder the "bad guy" but if everybody thinks that violence is an answer, another "bad guy" will appear for sure.) This is REALLY long, I get that, but it's a complete breakdown of this MV. This is by far the best explanation I have found. It was written by Heiderose Kober: This is subtitled "Requiem” but it is also a vision and a call to action. Dimash is steeped in sacred music and has a deep understanding of the mystic teachings and symbolism of the major world religions as well as Kazakh shamanism. It is not by coincidence that the first performance of this work took place on September 14, 2022, at the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Kazakhstan. The written statement at the end of the video is directly from the “Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together” signed jointly on February 4, 2019, by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmad el-Tayeb. Dimash met and spoke with both men at the September meeting. Everything Dimash does is intentional, and this piece has layers that would take a dissertation to unravel. I only touch on some of what struck me in the symbolism. The music is a dissertation all by itself. The pendant is an interesting element. It is a gnomon from a maritime compass sundial. This triangular blade is attached to the sundial, casting a shadow on the sundial while the perforated pinhole projects the image of the sun onto the dial. It was used for both timekeeping and navigation, with the gnomon oriented to True North. (Thank you, Snarky Tart for that information). In the MV, (the taller child) who later becomes the military commander, never puts on the necklace. After Dimash, (the drowning boy), gives his friend the pendant. The camera focuses on his hand and shows that his friend has bent the gnomon in anger over being rejected by the girl (later Dimash's Wife and the mother of his daughter who is killed). Thus bent, it can never be oriented to True North, and he has lost his moral compass. Later, we see a version of the gnomon as the military insignia on the uniforms of the commander and his soldiers, but distorted and without the hole that allows light to shine through rendering it useless as a compass. When we lose the original intent of a symbol by twisting it into something it is not or by just paying lip service, it no longer has any spiritual meaning. At best it becomes a useless prop, at worst it is used to mislead and manipulate people. Contemporary music is also present: With the phrase "We have passed the moment of Imagine," Dimash reminds us that we are past the sentiments evoked by the song "Imagine" by John Lennon. It is time to stop dreaming about a world of peace and harmony. If we choose life, if we wish for peace, if we want a world without war for our children and grandchildren, we must act and take up the long hard path up the mountain towards the light. It is the only way. The storyline is a very human one: we start as innocents until our hearts are broken, we fail, or our dreams are not realized. How can we rid the world of evil without becoming what we fight against? The burning sign "Waldenberg" is a reference to the end of WWII when the US Army destroyed the last of the resistance by the German Wehrmacht close to the end of the war in April 1945 in the part of Germany where I grew up. I have seen the aftermath of war as I was born a few years later when much of Germany was still in rubble. Waldenburg is only 28 miles from my hometown and was completely destroyed as you can see from the picture. Many of the dead in those bombed-out buildings were women and children. The good guys defeated evil but at what price? War is not the answer. Dimash's scream of “we’re choosing life” is that of giving birth: the old earthly consciousness of an eye for an eye has to die to make way for a new spiritual consciousness that embraces all life. His soul is breaking free to return to its natural state of love and purity as exemplified by the images of the children and the newborn baby. You did watch the "movie". Dimash took 3 year's creating this masterpiece. Dimash is the kid that drowned and got saved in the beginning. The other kid grows up to be the dictator. Dimash is fighting against the dictators army. The lady with the little girl is the girl from the beginning. She is married to Dimash and the little girl that gets killed is their daughter. Dimash comes home and sees his dead daughter and everyone that's been slaughtered by the dictators army but he doesn't know that some of his people were able to get his pregnant wife to safety and hidden while she gave birth to their son. If you listen to the lyrics at the end he says "last chance is here. Piper's lead up to the slaughter long enough..." Basically something has to be done to stop the evil the dictator (his childhood friend). So he sacrificed himself to stop him from killing anyone else. At the end Dimash is leading a group of different races, different religions peacefully into the light. I think. If I've gotten this wrong please someone correct me. Dimash said it's The Story of One Sky because we are all humans. All living under the same sky. We are not different because of the skin color, the religious beliefs, economic status. We NEED to live together Peacefully. At the end of his live performance of this song (you have to watch it). His final words are "WE NEED PEACE!". It's powerful!!
