Thank you for discovering Dimash and welcome to a beautiful world of music. Dimash is a 29-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly anyway😅). However, if you include the notes he has sung live in his concerts so far, you get almost 8 octaves (7.7 from vocal fry C1 (B0) to the whistle register D8; this note is no longer on the piano). At least that's what he's shown us so far. And this in all registers (chest, mixed and head voice up to the whistle register). The transitions from one register to the other are so fluid that they are sometimes not recognized even by vocal coaches or professional singers. His voice is the result not only of his God-given talent, but also of his almost 25 years of hard daily training. From the age of 5 he attended music school in his hometown of Aktobe. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. And at his concert in Almaty, Kazakhstan on September 23, 2022 he sang in 7 languages in one concert! And at his concert in Yerevan on April 29, 2023, he sang an Armenian folk song for the first time (it has to be about 16 or 17 languages so far). He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". The logo can be seen at the beginning of many of Dimash's videos. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how. Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, intelligent, respectful and humble person. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this. His concert in September 23, 2022 in Almaty, Kazakhstan was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize you are so wrong. He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills. He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. Not only is he perfect at singing and performing, he's also an incredibly good actor. Check out his music videos. They are amazing. You think I’m exaggerating? No, I don’t think so😄. Stranger is one of my absolute favorite songs. I get goosebumps every time I hear it. I’m a real fan of movies that have such a mystical or oriental atmosphere. And it was such a great idea by Dimash to use the Kobysz for that. The kobyz is a very old two stringed Kazakh folk instrument and it’s wide spread among Kazakhs. The man who often is playing the kobyz in Dimash’s performance (also here in Stranger) is the best on this instrument and a good friend of Dimash. His name is Olzhas Qurmanbek. You often can hear this instrument when Dimash sings in his native tongue like Samaltau, Qairan Elim or Òmir Òter. As a Kazakh he speaks Kazahk and Russian fluently. He sang Stranger for the first time at New Wave in Sochi, Russia in 2021. This is an international competition for young artists, founded in 2002 by Igor Krutoy. Dimash sang here as a guest and was also a member of the jury. Igor Krutoy, like so many other masterpieces, wrote this song specifically for Dimash and his incredible vocal range (in this song alone he sings 5 octaves F1-F6 I think). And the last note he held for 20 seconds. The way he switchs so affortlessly between the different registers and octaves in one song is so mesmerizing and unbelievable. Stranger was written by the famous Russian/Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter Igor Krutoy. He has come out of retirement to work with Dimash. True masterpieces were created. He writes songs that only Dimash could sing with his vocal range, such as Olimpico, Stranger or Ave Maria. You’ll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. If Igor Krutoy is there, the song was also written by him.The two have no contract. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. It’s more like a father/son relationship. He wrote this song and others especially for Dimash’s wide vocal range. The thing with the flowers has something to do with respect for the artist. It's a cultural thing. The audience listens to a performance without yelling or screaming that the artist can no longer be heard. No sound may be missing. In return, they then shower Dimash with flowers and gifts. That's the norm there. He then always donates the flowers to hospitals, retirement homes or similar institutions. Igor Krutoy (the gentleman at the piano) composed this version of the Ave Maria at Dimash's request. Dimash is just great, isn't he? He manages to lift people to heaven with just one vowel. He leaves me speechless every time I hear this song. And I love it when the drums come in. It's so unique. Did you know that there are more than 100 versions of the Ave Maria? Now there is one more. Usually, Ave Maria is a prayer to the Holy Virgin Mary. In this case, however, it is a prayer for all people, no matter what religion they belong to. Besides that Dimash is a Muslim and Igor Kurtoy, who often accompanies him on the piano, is Jewish. That is why this Ave Maria has no lyrics, since it is not only sung for Christians. He sang this song on the New Wave in Sochi, Russia in 2021. This is an international contest for young performers founded by Igor Krutoy in 2002. Dimash sang here as a guest and was also a member of the jury. He sang this SOS on his digital concert in January 2021 during the pandemic. He had to cancel his tour and did this concert for his Dears/fans. That’s why there was no audience to be seen or heard. SOS is a song in the rock-opera „Starmania“ from 1978. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione. SOS was the first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. Things I found to be important about Dimash: Parents are well known singers, composers, producers in Kazakhstan As a toddler. he showed an interest in music. His family nurtured his talent. From the age of 5 or 6, his education had a major focus on music. Throughout his education he learned music, composition, theory, voice, performance etc. He has a masters working toward a PHD in music. His natural talent was nurtured and encouraged.He understands the mechanics of singing. Three things are very important to him: Country and the Kazakhstan culture His faith. He is a Muslim. World Peace. He has participated in various forums and public events in peace and peace has been at the core of many of the songs he has written. He said that he decided not to become an opera singer because it did not allow for interpretation and innovation. While his neo classical repertoire is large he is also a huge fan of Michael Jackson. He has recorded pop songs and has even rapped. His latest music has a jazzy feel. His family is still very much involved in his career.

Welcome to the world of Dimash. No one in the world like him. I heard Dimash do Opera 2 for the first time in 2017. There was a video on Facebook that said, Best voice in the world. I thought sure whatever but I clicked and then I replayed it 100 more times and have been absolutely hooked since. Dimash music plays in my head 24/7 and wait until you learn about the person that he is. You will be a huge fan.

I suggest checking out 'Sinful Passion' from his D-Dynasty concert in Moscow(fancam by Dimash 48, this isn't the version most people react to, but the rawness of the sound gives it a different kind of appeal), or perhaphs a Kazakh folk song like 'Samaltau'(Tokyo Jazz Festival) or 'Dudarai'(CCTV-1 China). I also recommend "The Ultimate Dimash Guide" by LiLaSi if you're interested in knowing more about him as a person as well, it's split into 12 parts(around 10 min each, though it varies a bit depending on the topic) and very well made and easy to follow.

Discovered Dimash with Diva song (5th element) and never stop being amazed since. He's brilliant. I love SOS, one of the most beautiful and technically difficult French song. With the original singer, Dimash is only second performer who does justice to the song.

omg I’m absolutely THRILLED to watch you reacting to Dimash!! My favorite thing about him: watching old performances and following him through the years, and being able to absolutely hear from one year to the next how his range and control keep growing, when you already think they’re impossible) I agree with the comment that he doesn’t even seem human… I once heard a vocal coach reactor say that Dimash has GOT to have been born with unusual vocal cords (and then of course acknowledged that he then has spent his life working his ass off training) - I hope you’ll at some do what I love to do: just sit back with the headphones on, turn it up loud, close your eyes, and float… Warning: you’ll almost certainly cry.
