Sorry for the odd camera angle but I'm using new soft ware, and didn't want to re-record and ruin a true first time reaction. Also for the mistake in the title sequence. This is how the clip was introduced to me.
Loved this! Blown away by Dimash's scope as not just singer, but actor and director. Is there anything he can't do?

Dimash composed the music, wrote the script, is acting in it, and the sang it from his heart as an advocate for peace. Is not the director. A masterpiece.

You must see him sing this live at Almaty. Incredible piece music and his 9 minute performance is just amazing. Dimash is one for the legends himself. No one like him. Its the whole pkg that separates Dimash from mere mortals. Divinely gifted. Really enjoy your reactions. Great comments.

It took him 3 yrs to complete. He Wrote the Story, the screenplay, composed the music, sang and acted in the video, and partly produced it. He did not Direct this! Dimash will have a one-year internship at the leading university of the USA - New York Film Academy, specializing in “Directing” at the Los Angeles campus... This is his call for Peace ! Thanks for your reaction to this masterpiece I’m enclosing a deep and knowledgeable analysis by Heiderose Kober that you might enjoy: « This is subtitled "Requiem” but it is also a vision and a call to action. Dimash is steeped in sacred music and has a deep understanding of the mystic teachings and symbolism of the major world religions as well as Kazakh shamanism. It is not by coincidence that the first performance of this work took place on September 14, 2022, at the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Kazakhstan. The written statement at the end of the video is directly from the “Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together” signed jointly on February 4, 2019, by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmad el-Tayeb. Dimash met and spoke with both men at the September meeting. Everything Dimash does is intentional, and this piece has layers that would take a dissertation to unravel. I only touch on some of what struck me in the symbolism. The music is a dissertation all by itself. The pendant is an interesting element. It is a gnomon from a maritime compass sundial. This triangular blade is attached to the sundial, casting a shadow on the sundial while the perforated pinhole projects the image of the sun onto the dial. It was used for both timekeeping and navigation, with the gnomon oriented to True North. (Thank you, Snarky Tart for that information). In the MV, the child who later becomes the military commander never puts on the necklace. After Dimash, the boy, gives his friend the pendant, the camera focuses on his hand and shows that his friend has bent the gnomon in anger over being rejected by the girl. Thus bent, it can never be oriented to True North, and he has lost his moral compass. Later, we see a version of the gnomon as the military insignia on the uniforms of the commander and his soldiers, but distorted and without the hole that allows light to shine through rendering it useless as a compass. When we lose the original intent of a symbol by twisting it into something it is not or by just paying lip service, it no longer has any spiritual meaning. At best it becomes a useless prop, at worst it is used to mislead and manipulate people. Contemporary music is also present: With the phrase "We have passed the moment of Imagine," Dimash reminds us that we are past the sentiments evoked by the song "Imagine" by John Lennon. It is time to stop dreaming about a world of peace and harmony. If we choose life, if we wish for peace, if we want a world without war for our children and grandchildren, we must act and take up the long hard path up the mountain towards the light. It is the only way. The storyline is a very human one: we start as innocents until our hearts are broken, we fail, or our dreams are not realized. If in our pain and disappointment, we turn to anger and blame instead of acceptance, power instead of love, greed and envy instead of generosity, hatred instead of forgiveness, and revenge instead of justice, we sow the seeds for conflicts that can turn into war. The Piper's call is seductive as it promises redress for our grievances, control over our circumstances, and power over those who thwarted us, and this appeals to our wounded ego. However, let's remember that the Piper is a symbolic figure of Death from the Middle Ages, often used as a metaphor for trusting and following charismatic but dangerous and malevolent leaders to certain death. Even if we resist, as the adult Dimash character does, we often employ the same methods and weaponry as the Piper, and thus those who fight back betray peace as well because peace cannot be won through violence. That is the dilemma of those of us who did not start the war, who do not support the war, but are forced to respond in order to defend ourselves and those we love. How can we rid the world of evil without becoming what we fight against? The burning sign "Waldenberg" is a reference to the end of WWII when the US Army destroyed the last of the resistance by the German Wehrmacht close to the end of the war in April 1945 in the part of Germany where I grew up. I have seen the aftermath of war as I was born a few years later when much of Germany was still in rubble. Waldenburg is only 28 miles from my hometown and was completely destroyed as you can see from the picture. Many of the dead in those bombed-out buildings were women and children. The good guys defeated evil but at what price? War is not the answer. We must find better ways to keep evil in check. iowaculture.gov/history/education/educator-resources/primary-source-sets/world-war-ii/american-troops-move-through The last movement is powerful: The cries over the loss of a beloved child and the cries of giving birth to new life are presented as a call-and-response grounded by a powerful Om chant that creates a sacred space, reminding us that death and birth are both sacraments and are interwoven in the tapestry of life. Dimash's vocalization and the pilgrims representing world religions and religious leaders, past and present, walking together shift the narrative toward the final conflict and finally redemption. When Dimash’s character decides to avenge the murder of his daughter, his state of consciousness is reflected in the darkening sky with lightning bolts of anger accompanying the storm of his emotions that buffets the pilgrims and hinder progress. The fog of war obscures the light. When he is killed after exacting retribution, he is dropped back into the "sacred womb" of Earth, the ocean of love and mercy, and is cleansed of the old hatreds and grievances that only bring more death and suffering. He breaks the wheel of endless war and suffering by choosing life. Dimash's scream of “we’re choosing life” is that of giving birth: the old earthly consciousness of an eye for an eye has to die to make way for a new spiritual consciousness that embraces all life. Soul is breaking free to return to its natural state of love and purity as exemplified by the images of the children and the newborn baby. The blowing of the shofar signals God's mercy for humankind when it turns from wrong to right: in the Zohar, the book of Jewish mysticism, it says: “When human beings repent of their sins, they blow the shofar on earth. Its sound ascends On High and awakens the heavenly shofar, and so mercy is aroused and judgment is removed.” Reborn as a leader for peace and love, Dimash's character in the form of his son becomes a spiritual guide for all of mankind on our shared journey up the mountain towards the light of God, however we may interpret or name the divine. We are all on the same path, even if our personal narratives, cultural heritage, race, and spiritual orientations are very different from one another. By focusing on our common destination rather than on our differences, we can walk together in peace and love and mutual respect. Carl Jung wrote: “Knowing your own darkness is the best method for dealing with the darknesses of other people. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious. The most terrifying thing is to accept oneself completely. Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.” This is what Dimash has done with this work; he has made the darkness conscious. We can only raise our individual and collective consciousness by bringing to light what needs to be healed in our lives and our world, and then we need to work together to restore wholeness to what is broken and bring about peace and unity, one step at a time. We don’t have to wait. We can start right now. As the hymn tells us: "Let there peace in the world, and let it begin with me." Baraka Bashad. »

Saludos

I fully agree with your analysis. A historical clarification The defeat of Nazi Germany was due to the resistance of nearly 27 million deaths and the liberation of Berlin by the Russian armies. The massive bombing of German cities by civilians was not militarily justified.

These are my views on this amazing masterpiece Story of One Sky - I have watched this many times and still find things out that i never thought of amazing video and i have said it before if anyone could bring peace i strongly believe Dimash could make it possible. This needs to be shared worldwide to show people there is another way. War is never the answer because the only ones to suffer are the innocent. Rewatched the song of Dimash today one line stood out to me One of the most profound lines in The Story of One Sky is the line "Learn to share the love, Not shares" Not shares meaning stop making money out of war rich people have many shares in companies that profit from weapon manufacturing making them richer while the innocent suffer sadly this is why war exists. MONEY, GREED and POWER. The boy who was drowning was (Dimash's character as a child) made the necklaces that were given to the girl who grew up to be (Dimash's pregnant wife) and the boy who saved him who (grew up to be the military leader), possibly out of jealousy. The military leader waged his war The part in the video with the little girl and the people in the hallway were Dimash's family who had been wiped out the little girl whose body he picked up was his daughter, the baby that was born was his son who grew up to be Dimash grown up at the end!!! The Dimash at the end can also be seen as Dimash in the afterlife leading others to the light in peace. The This video needs to be shown worldwide. Something else i noticed is in his dying breath he sang (We're Choosing Life) as he finally passed away now that is powerful

Grandioso!! The way I found to celebrate the majesty of Dimash's talent was to have written the following about him: If I were to rule the world, I would immediately add, to the universal declaration of human rights, another article (they would become 31) whose wording would next "All human beings have the right, at least once in their lives, to hear Dimash sing". I am a Professor and I believe that I have a special profession that allows me to transform the human heart and consequently the human society. I work with young people and young people need to have good references. I had been looking for someone for a long time, of whom I could speak to the young people I work with, as a good reference. That person should be young, a super talent, a super mega star in the art world and above all, because he is the most important, a good human person. I searched and never found anyone with these characteristics. Until, finally, I found this person and that person is Dimash. I had the opportunity to say this to Dimash, personally, when I was with him in Latvia where I went, coming from Portugal (there are 8000 km round trip), on the 7th of March 2020. With friendship Rui Baptista

Nobody knows what his plans are because he hasn't said anything about it. It is an exciting opportunity to learn more about something he is clearly interested in but we'll just have to see how he decides to do it. He is also still busy with his doctorate. Becoming a full-time student for a year is unlikely. I don't really wish to get into a discussion about it because I've learned that everyone feels that they know exactly what goes on in his head and his life. I'd rather stay out of it.

Dimash is one of this year's 178 recipients of the Bolashak program which provides scholarships and internships to young Kazakhs in order for them to pursue their studies, masters or doctoral degrees in leading universities across the world. From what we know of Dimash, his sense of responsibility and respect for his roots, he isn't going into this just for the heck of it. For sure there will be future cinematography work in Dimash's artistic journey and at only 28 years of age, he's already dared showing the world his values in a most direct, harsh and yet beautiful way. You said it and I completely agree, Dimash is an artist to be reckoned with. As they say in French, "il n'a pas froid aux yeux" and more commonly, "he ain't just a pretty face"!

I started watching this when it came out and stopped very early. Just couldn't handle - wasn't willing to endure - the emotions and the horror of it all. Finally got all of the way through a couple of months later. It's enigmatic, horrible, hopeful and devastating. I admire his courage in tackling this, and his unsparing eye.

Welcome home Lucas! Good to have you back. I missed you and that not very ugly face; the wonderful, intelligent, insightful and sensitive perspectives that you share with us. I think the last scene was of him and the others, who had died, heading towards the light; with him leading them. If I had been writing it, I would have had someone, a best friend, helping the faltering then fallen man - to say no man left behind. Show his friend desperately struggling, even if fruitlessly, to help, to save his stricken friend. If my friend fell like that, rest assured, I would never leave him alone to face whatever fate awaited us - even if it meant that I was to die. And as a man who has made such a sacrifice in this lifetime, I can say that knowing - that I know how to walk that walk, Lucas. But, perhaps, that was the way it was because it made it more poignant? But, it left me with a bad feeling - like an unattended to detail. That is the only criticism I have of the entire production. As The Fairy Voice Mother said, "The term masterpiece is bandied around too often, but this qualifies as a master piece and Dimash is possibly the most creative individual alive in the world." I agree. We are blessed to have him and, be able to witness his brilliance; the love it bespeaks of whom and what kind of man he is and hopes each of us by his example will strive to be.

🙏🙏🙏Truly nice to see you again reacting to Dimash and particularly to this masterpiece 💕💕💕. I really enjoyed your reaction 🙏🙏🙏 I’m enclosing a knowledgeable and deep analysis from Heiderose Kober that you might appreciate: « This is subtitled "Requiem” but it is also a vision and a call to action. »

As you may remember, Dimash is involved in all aspects of his work. This was 3yars in the making. The subject is his passion for the people of the world to wake up, and not rely on leaders to make decisions that are killing the world and its people.. Just like the film visuals, & the music and lyrics are not there to marvel at but to shock us, wake us up - not to just admire. His 1st work on the effects of war was written and made when he was only 17. still a student - called War & Peace. I feel you missed an opportunity to say more, about the theme of this important work. It is not always obvious to people, sometimes because they focus on the song. The Message at the end 4 me . should have been read out - reinforcing his message to work for peace in the world.- not everyone can see it or indeed read it. This is Dimashs main work, to move us all to play our part in bringing peace to the world. I hope you will listen to it again and maybe also watch his performance of it at his concert in Almaty. Apart from being stunning, you can see, and feel his passion to influence change in how we deal with each other, working from respect, and unconditional love towards each other no matter what creed, colour or politics we hold. Disappointed, too much focus on being a reviewer. You missed the real purpose of this offering.

The boy who saved Dimash from drowning tried to kiss the girl and she rejected him, that's why he had that look on his face and wasn't so happy to except the gnomon ( triangle from a sundial) from Dimash. This is the most expensive MV ever made. Great observations Lukas, with figuring out who was who at the different times from childhood to adult. The lyrics say a lot and so does the video that accompanies it. The other message, the one of the unity of the various religions going together as a group is exciting and daring to do too, as is the entire video. Dimash shows he's not afraid, even at this early stage in his career to put his values forward, and he has most of us Dears united behind him too. He first showed this to a Religious convention in Kazakhstan and the Pope awarded Dimash with a medal for it. They too seem to like the message. Hope to see you do more Dimash reactions, it's nice to hear your thoughts. Love from a Disciple of Dimash, Los Angeles Chapter

Glad to see you back. I hope you and yours are doing well. It has been way too long; I always enjoy and appreciate you genuine reactions and value you insightful analyses and comments. FYI, the song is called "The Story of One Sky." Dimash wrote the music and directed the video, someone else wrote the lyrics of the song. Listening to him performaning this live is absolutely stunning and an emotional rollercoaster. Here is the link to one fan cam recording. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/r9Ccm6ugzMvWZGw.html Btw, you can avoid the commercial interruption by installing an ad blocker for free. When Dimash premiered this song at his concert, he gave a speech prior to singing the song. I think that speech is important and gives context to the song and story: "Many thanks, dear friends; before I perform the next song, let me say a few words. Thank you very much. We, the people sitting in this stadium, each of us is different, not totally alike one another, but we are all God's children, each of us with different talents. And, as I mentioned just now, right now is a bad time. In fact, I am not satisfied with the present situation. I have not seen how such situations evolved in the past, therefore I don't know what will happen next. But many people are suffering today because of a few individuals, it's really true. We, we the adults, consider ourselves to be "smarter" than the small children and innocents, but while we do our best to teach and educate our children, we forget that we also have some things to learn from those children. They are pure-hearted, kind, friendly, untainted and without egos and their love for people is pure. Young children have such qualities. I started writing this song I'm about to perform, three years ago. Generally speaking, my main purpose in writing this work is to call for peace in the world. It's a small composition that has burst out from deep within my heart. To tell you truth, many thanks to God and with your wishes, I traveled to many parts of the world and met many different people during my tours. One thing I understood is that if you look at ordinary people, there is no such thing as a bad nationality, there is no bad nationality! I don't need to tell you what you already know about the reason for mentioning the topic of nationality here… Let there be peace in the world, Let there be peace. Let there be no war. Let no people, let no nationality, let no country suffer! Because after all, ordinary individuals, ordinary people are not at fault. The truth of the matter is, no ordinary person is guilty of starting a war! That's why the next song I'll be performing in your honor is about our common fate under one sky, it's called "The Story of One Sky.” Hope you like it."
