As a Dimir Hullbreaker player, I thought my deck was a disgusting affront to the senses. But Invoke Despair/Witness the Future control? What a madman. You don't even give yourself good chances to win, you just want to see them suffer. I approve. The Saltmines are sure to increase in productivity after this one.

This one is pure fun. I can hear the lamentation of my opponents over the broken client audio. Trip report - one game I saw my opponent ran some aggro discard (Elderfang/Acquisitions Expert/cheap black aggro). After I dealt with those I saw the opponent just holding five cards in hand while playing lands, turn after turn. No idea what he was going for so I left mana open each turn. Halfway through the game I took a look with Dread Fugue and saw: - 2 Mindflayer - 3 Grafted Identity - 1 Elderfang It was probably my decision to take his Elderfang which prompted him to understand I had no single creature in my deck :). Next turn he started running out the Mindflayers. This was a prolonged session of despair for the poor guy.

Hey CGB just wanted to say love the deck ideas and that you are keeping control alive for us blue mages. I've been using the azorius reanimator deck with a couple of changes and I've been sitting at a win percentage over 70%. Im in Diamond 1 making my way to mythic.

I just finished an epic 45 minute long game where I played your White Castle deck and my opponent played this Invoke Control deck. It took 28 turns and I had only 4 cards left in my deck but White Castle narrowly came out on top. One of the most epic MTG Arena games I've ever played. White Castle v Invoke Control, absolutely wild!

THIS VIDEO IS AWESOME MUST WATCH!!! I was shouting DESPAIRRRR this deck is really cool never ending DESPAIRRRR and destruction plus just being denied of all your fun the opponent made some serious mistakes in rune deck I would have target my land and blowing up that Titan saga deck was fun to see this just look like so much fun my type of fun I stayed till the end even through commercial for more support and I can't wait to see what you do next and please never forget CGB you're cool 😎🤟🏽❤️

This is why I love test of talents in my decks. Hitting invoke despair with test of talents. Farewell to exile their graveyard, or Lion Sash to exile key cards.

I've been running an endless value deck similar to this but it's in Temur and uses Galvanic Despair (or you can do a Simic version if you use Teach by Example instead) to copy Invoke the Ancients to create four (sometimes 6) 4/5 treants. Then I use Witness to put the spells back into my deck so I'm able to refill the board with Infinite value! You should try it out!

I was putting off investing in invoke despair, cause I kept having other deck ideas. With the latest set being alchemy only I got to finally catch up on cards, and I have to say, I have never had so many issues waiting for a 5 drop to hit my hand.

He did a video on a Golgari Invoke Despair a little while ago, it's more of a ramp deck since it runs Titan of Industry as something else to do with all the mana you need for Shigeki but it's still pretty focused on Invoking the opponent out most of the time kzfaq.info/get/bejne/lcyEjMiYydnWY2w.html It was pretty early on in the format though so I assume the list would be different now

I really like this deck, its alot of fun to run but I do have 1 problem with it: it just dies to tergrids lantern because it doesn't really have a way of dealing with artifacts other than counters

He has a Red Green Land Destruction Deck He killed at least 10 of my lands, I am down to a Celestus and 3 swamps. No blue. I had discarded a Siphon Soul to the Celestus Looting, to get that swamp His end step, I Siphon Soul him. I rip 2 cards off his library. ONE IS THE "RESTORE ALL LANDS FROM UR GRAVEYARD TO THE BATTLEFIELD" YONK cast all 4 of my pitiful mana on it Bam, all my lands back Siphon Soul can win games. THANKS CGB!!!!!!!!

At the time of this comment, i ordered one of the last 2. Looking forward to one day to getting it signed now only if i knew what locals i could find the rare CGB at since im back living in Michigan. If anything, next year i will try to go to one of the events just to get the playmat signed. like always i enjoy the control decks. Edit in: Checked back an hour later and last playmat is gone.

Siphon Insight may technically be a bad card, but it's probably my favorite card in standard right now. I put this deck together and had a blast with it, but I did drop a siphon and added in a devious cover-up for more shenanigans. I also put in another hive, because diamond has been kinda full of tenacious underdogs lately.

This is why I got into CGB to begin with. Dimir nonsense that isn't the top meta, but just *feels so good* to play. I also get the feeling that Dimir is going to get a bit better with rotation.

At least it plays a wincon. Control decks on Arena are incentivized to not even bother, since most people figure it's not worth hanging out another 5 to 10 minutes for a control deck to actually win.

Curious why not Devious Cover-up x 2 to give more despair options plus a counter. =1 negate and -1 disdainful

Maybe it's because of the price. You usually counter something at 3 mana, like Fable. And costing 2 mana means you could kill a creature and counter a spell, or draw card with Tainted or Siphon, instead of the exiling a card and not affecting the board. Witness the Future also gives a card, so there's that

'budget' is not really defined that much by mythics, rather by rares to me... there are not that many good mythics to craft usually so I am rather short on rares.

Omg, just got off arena and this was the last decked I played. F*ck siphon insight. Luckily I got the dude to 1 life before I was top decking. The idiot used my infernal grasp and killed himself.

First deck I don’t see why you didn’t destroy their lands and just keep getting back your land to destroy their lands. Wouldnt be able to cast their big payoffs cause it usually runs one basic
