I don’t care if I’ve said it before.... this is the absolute best version of mourning palace I’ve ever heard in my life, I’m 36 and I’ve been listening to this song since I was in high school. This performance is amazing, gaulder, what a beast, I don’t know the name of that keyboardist but he’s just as big a beast, especially during the solo/breakdown/bridge, whatever that climax part is called, and you all know what I mean, this performance was just epic

Im obsessed with the trombone player, just kind of figured out how to verbalise why ,bear with me, I think his face and his headbanging and everything else is an embodiment of what most of us on this thread feel about music and where it takes us, it's absolute pure joy and it's uninhibited expressions of that joy , he's let the music wash away everything else and he's just seriously rocking out. This is how I want my life to always be. Rip Nolan . My brother passed away in 2019 and was much like this guy, he okayed ,,7 musical instruments and sang . He was insanely animated when he conducted and his voice in the choir would lift to the ceiling and settle down on you and you'd feel the passion for music . Love you nols. Stop telling everyone what to do in the afterlife .

Daylight has finally reached its end As evenfall strikes into the sky Far away in the dark glimpsing moonlight Sickening souls cry out in pain Whispering voices summoning screams Waiting for Satan to bless their sins Blackhearted angels fallen from grace Possessed by the search for utter darkness Hear the cries from the Mourning Palace Feel the gloom of restless spirits Hear the screams from the Mourning Palace Feel the doom of haunting chants Eternal is their lives in misery Eternal is their lives in grief Abandoned in a void of nothingness A chain of anger, a fetter of despair In this garden of depraved beings This unsacred place of helpless ones Satan blessed the creatures Inswathed them in endless night Whispering voices, summoning screams Waiting for Satan to bless their sins Blackhearted angels fallen from grace Possessed by the search for utter darkness

This a perfect example of why many metal heads are huge fanatics of classical instrumental music. The level of musicianship, arrangements, instrumentation etc are very similar in both genres.

I love the song!!! I respect Dimmu Borgir a lot because they're able to create mesmerizing and consistent songs, they are heavy, catchy, epic and beautiful at the same time!!! I'm personally more into this style of metal.

Shawn Jones I'm Mexican and I've been listening to Dimmu Borgir for years, since I was a teenager! I'm not a fan though but I truly enjoy their music. I'm more into Power, heavy and symphonic metal but I really like them a lot and I'm glad they're back, just that, can you stop being a pretentious prick and attention seeker??? 😊

MarieleCastán explains a shitload. Some reason mexican/native chicks love metal. Bout the only ones left when i look around minus a few older ones in europe, How are they back if they didnt release any albums? Can you stop being a useless groupie? no one likes groupies, even though your type dates me, im basically not liking groupies just their money and sex

Mourning Palace was the first Dimmu Borgir song I ever heard, that was about fifteen years ago I think, still my favorite, I may appear strange but I find it so incredibly beautiful. It would have been such an honor to play in the orchestra alongside Dimmu :3
