You mean the sound crew, probably the most astonishing and most talented anywhere, combining electronic instruments and a whole orchestra, not to mention the adjustments on the choir mics... And totally spot on! We have to admit though that there are some post production, in studio, adjustments... Nevertheless, still amazing

For all saying the choir couldn't match Vortex: Did it ever occur to you that perhaps they were going for a choir sound instead of a soloist sound because, I don't know, they had an entire choir at their disposal and wanted to use that instead of attempting to recreate something that nobody would be satisfied with anyway? In terms of power and clarity, yes the choir doesn't match up (also not loud enough - engineering issue) but could Vortex sing all parts at the same time? - no, I don't think so. Comparing Vortex's ability vs the choir's ability isn't the same as comparing Vortex's purpose in the original track vs the choir's purpose during this performance.

To this day it amazes me that a band that would be casted aside for back in the day by how ridiculous it sounded compared to the trend can slap it back in a haters face and get an entire orchestra to back them during a live set. For y'all who say this isn't metal, do yourself a favor and learn the value of music. Because being able to pull this sound off is world crushing and high class
@smurfk2144

When was Dimmu Borg "casted away"? They were always one of the largest black metal bands. They aren't considered one of the second wave Norwegian black metal bands, like Mayhem, Emperor, Satyricon, Immortal are though, and they don't sound like those bands, so it's pretty normal for people that enjoy that type of metal to not automatically enjoy Dimmu Borgir too, because is just another thing all together, but they were always a huge band.

I just wanna know the orchestra's thoughts on playing with a metal band. I'm sure most never saw that coming in their career.

Lol, yeah probably not. A lot of the orchestra and choir members are big fans of dimmu borgir.

Thanks for the camera man For letting us see that Basically : 1 Vortex is equivalent to a sum of 5 rows of 44 man and woman of high range operal chants.

It sounds better that with Vortex live, and worse than with Vortex on a mastered studio recorded album. Stop being picky and enjoy.

@@lights8811 u got a point though Despite the fact they mostly sound better than vortex at some performances Not all the vortex's performances live sound less good But there is a few live performances that are really bad But mostly his good live performances surpassed those choir sets

@@komobg6403 Vortex's voice was OK. at best. On it's own it was nothing special. The missing piece of the puzzle is a mastered studio version of songs that Vortex sang but with the choir. IMO the versions with the choir add more depth to the overall sound. Maybe it's just me but I never listen to individual musicians in any band...it take's away from the whole. It's like having a Ferrari but obsessing over the trunk lid being made of cheap plastic. People should not be entitled to a creation they didn't had any part in making.

I don't know why, but every time I hear symphonic oriented Dimmu Borgir song - it's automatically make me think about Batman and Gotham City
