the worst part about all of this is that it was all because of a videogame that had absolutely no fucking impact on the world. no one has ever cared about dream daddy and no one will ever care. it's just so ridiculous that these two men have been suffering for years all because of a gimmicky soulless game.

I genuinely hope Ding Dong is doing alright now and has been able to at least mend his relationship with his family and deal with his mental health.

9:00 Super Mega actually used this technique before. When Tucker was embezzling money, they made so many jokes about it beforehand, that when he was fired and it was revealed that he indeed was embezzling money, everyone I knew thought it was a joke until almost half a year later.

The worst part is that people stopped caring for that horrible game within a month. It is so cool to destroy people's lives over stillborn projects. Also, Dd's explanation of "bring back bullying" is so spot on.

And even after this, game grumps will still pretend like it never happened and continue as normal for the sake of their careers. Absolutely disgusting.

I think something a lot of people are missing is how Ding Dong was talking about how people were telling him to put Arin and Suzy in his suicide note. Like that shit is straight out of rant grumps, it's insane to go that far for someone you hate.

the bystander effect is so real and soul-crushing. It's not just the entertainment industry affected by it; recently after months of planning and talking about it with my coworkers, I tried to start a union for better working conditions at our job. EVERYONE was on board, day over day they all said "what a great idea" "I support you" "I'll sign whatever you need me to" but as soon as I had a real plan of action, they all cowered. Every single one of them hid from the responsibility because it "put their jobs at risk" and I "had no right to mess with their livelihoods". I was crushed.

I just want them to not be blacklisted. I just want them to be successful. Hopefully people actually listen to this. It's insane. I hope he's just heard, but I hate that it would only be for drama.

As a gay man myself, I’ve listened to Ding Dong’s criticism of Dream Daddy, and I even played the game myself and…it’s all SO accurate, and SO deserved. The game sucks ass except for art design and the entertaining voice acting. It’s FILLED with gay stereotypes that just SCREAM “this story was written by a straight team that THINKS they know how all this gay stuff works cuz they binged 2 seasons of Queer eye”. The ONLY good part was the relationship with the character’s daughter, cuz gay single parent struggles are important to highlight, and it was actually written pretty ok. Ding dong’s comments were also SO simple and non-controversial. He RIGHTFULLY commented on how it felt out of touch and surface level. Which it IS. The backlash he got was INSANE. Also like…..don’t you think the ONLY TWO GAY EMPLOYEES should have their input be valued whether it’s positive or negative? Wtf is with this entitled crybaby response. Absolutely SICKENING. Game grumps should be ASHAMED of how they reacted and how they shoved all this stuff under the rug and refused to take responsibility. love how Ding Dong specifically mentioned how people would want to weaponize his story against specific members of the Game Grumps office and how little he thinks of people who act like that, and then every 5th comment here is someone going "oh man, Ding Dong has incriminating information about Arin..." as if that's their sole takeaway from this. Throughout this entire debacle from 2017 until now, he only mentioned Arin by name twice, once in the original stream where he mentioned how the Grumps (Arin and Dan) have nothing to do with his negative feelings about the game and now again when mentioning how people would try and use DD and his experience to try and incriminate him. I don't have a high opinion of the guy either because of various other shit he's been wrapped up in, but it's actually embarrassing that people latch onto Arin being the sole bad guy behind every possible situation to the point of their only takeaway from this emotional rant is "wowie imagine what this could do to Arin's reputation!" when there's so much more going on. Edit: To clarify further; I'm not saying that Arin is without blame here. He's a higher up within the company and without a doubt a contributing factor to the office attaining the environment that it has, past and present. What I'm saying is, your only takeaway from this whole situation shouldn't be "incriminating information about Arin! finally!" when there's an entire staff worth of people that should be held accountable. The Grumps office had more people than just Arin in management positions over the years, especially around 2017.

It genuinely hurts me to know that they were locked into horrible working conditions while I was sitting back and laughing at their content with Oneyplays. I was bummed out when they left the channel, but at the time the only information I could find for leaving was that they were going to be creating a game together (no idea if that was true or not). Instead there was this whole horrific sequence of events going on. I'm just glad they're still with us. I hope that knowing there are caring strangers in the world, who enjoy their content and wish them love and happiness, helps them in some way.

I was finally starting to become comfortable with my sexuality right around the time that dream daddy was about to come out. I remember the hype around it and then playing it at my friend's place and my only impression even as a dumb teenager was that it was really shallow and made me uncomfortable in a way that I wasnt smart enough to articulate yet. I thought the art style was nice but we played for like 10 minutes total before shutting it off. What a weird game.

as an avid GG fan, this sickens me. I was never fully aware of DingDong & Julian's situation. as a gay person myself, I feel 100x worse for not knowing any sooner. It does relieve me to see that the two are doing better on their own. these two are legit comedic, wholesome, amazing people, and to hear them going through something like that is upsetting to a whole new degree, for years nonetheless. I love them even more now.

I like Matt, but I am little disappointed in his dishonestly throughout this. I’m glad Ryan didn’t seem to cause any issues and was upfront. He did always feel like the more genuine of the two.

This is a lot to absorb. As someone who's spent many hours listening to compilations/playthroughs involving DD & Julian it's very disappointing to hear how they've been treated and how hopeless life got for DD at one point. I can't describe how happy I felt listening to this and knowing what a rock Julian is for DD and how he took a backseat and just let DD get off his chest what he needed to. We obviously aren't owed an explanation, but hopefully one day the filter will come off and we'll get a more clear outline of what happened. I think it's healthy to remind people that, beyond watching KZfaq videos and having to take internet personalities at "face value," there's a lot more that happens behind the scenes and relationships can become very complicated when friendships and working relationships intertwine.

I just hope these two are ok. I miss listening to these two on oneyplays or streams. I had no idea about this insanity, its so crazy to think people would do something like this to someone they consider a friend.

What's insane is that Dream Daddy isn't a well-written game at all. They _had_ to have known this. It's not at all worth the price for the lackluster story it attempts to give. The characters are all extremely shallow and uninteresting in every aspect. I don't mind stereotypes. I'm fine with them. But a stereotype should only be the basis of your character, not the entirety of it. The only thing i remember about the love interests were their designs. That's it. The story went nowhere. The second it started to give potentially interesting plot points, it ended. Every single time, i was like "That's it?????" There are free porn VNs with better writing than Dream Daddy.

Holy shit... They both have a really good reason to feel this way. How can we support Ding Dong and Julian the most nowaday? It was so nice having them both in these Let's Plays. It felt like 2 of my own finally ended up on a bigger platform, and god it made me very happy. Miss them both dearly. Hearing Ding Dong say "I was stupid to prioritize reality" Really struck a chord. Don't let truth die Ding Dong, you did the right thing. I hope both Ding Dong and Julian are doing well now. There are others who feel the same way as you both obviously, and it's a huge HUGE group of people. I think individuals like you both should do some of the leading now. Ding Dong, you have tons of viability, it just may not be in let's plays anymore. You should hit the truth sphere, and not the silly truth sphere. Think about podcasts like Jason Louv's, or even Duncan Trussel's, gosh even a Tedx talk or something would be fantastic. We need a conversation about exactly why the internet needs a huge social overhaul. Your story is SO necessary, and your wisdom is where I personally see a ton of your potential viability. Stay alive Ding Dong. You have a beautiful mind that deserves to live, you and Julian both. You both know what a mask is clearly, so you both should be working with others who know what masks are too. Your story just helped me substantially as an entertainer type. I will heed the hell out of your warnings about this experience. It's a serious jungle, and other up-and coming entertainers need the wisdom you both obtained through your experiences.

A bit that really sticks for me is Ding Dong noting the extreme reactions of people online. Why would people come clean about absolutely anything if it means they will be ceaselessly harassed online? I remember making snide comments on some videos following Julian stating he wanted to pretend OneyPlays didn't happen, but listening to this it's obvious why he'd feel that way. DD&J come across as super genuine people and they got dicked over in the most unfair ways.
