Laura in the Kitchen

Laura in the Kitchen

4 жыл бұрын

We captured this moment with the intention of sharing pieces of it throughout recipes here and there, but then realized that it's beautiful on it's own. This is what a typical evening with my nonna looks like, and oh how I wish it wasn't just once a year. When you're in the moment it feels like you've captured everything, but then when I watch it back I wish the camera never stopped.
Nonna has appeared on Laura in the Kitchen several times, here are some of her recipes:
Nonna's Fruit Tart Recipe: • Nonna's Italian Fruit ...
Nonna's Stuffed Calamari Recipe: • Nonna's Stuffed Calama...
Nonna's Stuffed Peppers Recipe: • Nonna's Stuffed Pepper...
Nonna's Spaghetti with Clams: • Nonna's Spaghetti with...

If you heard a chicken in the background of the beginning of the video, you’re not going crazy! It’s Mia’s mini chicken farm. You can watch them on their live stream 24/7 here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pJZ1ksSLmqmUqGw.html

This video brought tears to my eyes. My grandmother was my hero. And I miss her everyday. All four of my grandparents were born in Italy and traveled here with children in tow and not much of anything else. Rustic Italian cooking is the BEST! I have never been to Italy and I loved seeing an authentic Italian kitchen. Love to Nana and please keep these videos coming.

I’m so grateful she taught me all her recipes and I make them all the time- and I’ve added TONS of yours and combined them with hers and they are amazing! " Love, a warm smile, and laughter. Laura, thank you, thank you for letting us enjoy a true Italian family with authentic Italian cooks! We all need a Nonna in our kitchen! ***reaches for tissue***

Oh, Laura! I had a beautiful Nonna that I loved to watch in the kitchen and her house was my favorite place. I’d bike over to her on Saturday morning and help her cook, clean, iron, and if the doorbell rang an Italian neighbor would be at the door, they’d come in, we’d make coffee, sit down get out the cake and cookies(always available in the cupboard) and drink coffee and visit and eat. Bolognese, minestrone, polenta with strew, almond torte, biscotti, chocolate cake... these will forever be my favorite memories! Thank you for blessing me with this video!

I love this video. More of this kind please? I love family time there’s nothing better. Anytime you get to spend with them in this organic setting doing what everyone loves (cooking, eating, talking and laughing) is so precious. Time goes by so fast one minute you’re doing this or that and the next it becomes a memory. I regret so much not recording my grandmother in the kitchen. She’s still with us today but she can no longer cook because she suffers from pains in her hands and she can’t really tell us all the measurements of her recipes because it was all done by her taste and every now and then she forgets an ingredient or two when she’s explaining it. That is hard for me to take in because I don’t want to lose any bit of her. 💞

Love love love. Idk why but I started tearing up a little. I love Nonna! I could feel the family and love thru the screen. Great video.

Love your Nona!! I am amazed at her creative use of such a small space, with the gardens and outdoor area.

My grandma used to love cooking. She’s quite old now and has dementia so we don’t ever see her cooking anymore. You’re so blessed to be able to experience this with your Nonna still. What a happy kitchen and family you have. God bless xx
