______________
In this video I explore Sicily, Italy. I visit towns in the South East region of Sicily, including Catania, Noto, Syracuse and Ortigia. Sicily is a fascinating island in the South of Italy, with a rich mix of culture, history, food and the friendliest locals in Italy! I explore the bustling fish market in Catania, as well as try some popular Catanese dishes like pasta alla norma and eggplant caponata, I also feel adventurous enough to try the Catania specialty, horse meat burgers! I then visit the beautiful region of Noto and do some wine tasting of the famous nero d'avola red wine at a beautiful vineyard. Noto is a beautiful town known for it's sandstone cathedrals. I also visit the seaside town of Syracuse and Ortigia which have some incredible ancient Greek sites like the archeological park of Syracuse.
A HUGE thank you to Renato for such a fun tour of Catania, I highly recommend his tour. Here is the link:

another magnificent work, Malini, demonstrate your passion and the great italian cultural richness that is the heritage of the immense Italian history...think, what is the difference between a walk in the elegant and rich center of Turin or Milan, to the passionate and rustic Sicilian warm reality like in the fish markets, Italy is truly generous and those who have the sensitivity to discover what there is beyond pizza and the main tourist sites can truly reveal an incredible cultural treasure, for example the detail of eating meat with your hands, very different vibes from what you normally think of Italy, more like indian or arabic.

Indian is NOT the same as Arabs. Arabs have olive skin colors and white pale skin colors with many hair colors and eye colors. Real Arabs especially Northern Middle Eastern Levantine Arabs are Semitic Caucasians. Anyone look like an Indian are NOT Arabs but Indians living in Arab countries.

I read the wikipedia of the 'Rigorgsmento' and the Northern Italians did a pogrom of the Southern Italians. After 1870/ Garabaldi's time, forty million southern Italians left to America. Due to slippery Laws made by the Northern Italians. It was the Kingdom of Piedmont & Sicily? Republics kill people.

Great video, but Sicily is definitely Italy. I know many Sicilians say it's not because they feel Sicilian in the first place, but feeling Sicilian doesn't mean you're not Italian. I feel Neapolitan and Italian at the same time, I share my "napoletanità" with other Neapolitans and my "italianità" with other Italians. Italy includes so much diversity and that the main reason of its richness and beauty.

Wow, from the hustle and bustle of the markets the phrase life is an adventure from a down to earth or authentic point of view - amazing! My favorite segment of the show was from the guitar in Noto onto the spaghetti spot and the music in the church felt like I was in a movie with the art especially in Syracuse that cathedral all built from the ground up so interesting. Of course well done camera crew and all the scenes with the light in this show from the sunset-lovely, I can't wait for the next adventure 🙂👋

@@LUIS-ox1bv that is true for every part of the country. We were a collection of city states and duchies for a thousand years and more. And Italy existed as a nation well before the day of unification. If you don;t know our history, learn and come back when you say something less stupid.

Exactly, Sicily is one of many regions equally part of the modern Italian republic. How is it not Italy? Unfortunately, many of these statements are made by multi-generational Americans of Italian descent that know very little of Italian history.
