What do you do? You properly siege it. I've seen so many videos in men of war of attacks on forts, in waves. but never, a suspended, siege attempt. Bring out artillery, shell the place, soften it, bomb it, mortar it. Probe the defenses with recon units, fortify your own position, then, try to take it, if you fail, shell it MOAR. Unleash hell from the sky! I want to see a video like this. Oh, ye holy Diplex, could you deliver?

Well the Russian's weren't going to succeed due to the fact only one wave went in at a time. It was like sending lambs to the slaughter against that firepower.

The twin 120-mm gun is actually an Italian weapon. They were made for some of the 1920's and 30's era destroyers and large torpedo boats. Also used as Dual-purpose weapons on battleships and heavy cruisers.

Battle starts at 5:04 also when you do this battle again spread the attackers out and put more waves out at once

Why don't you just make unlimited waves and see how long they hold out??

Note: I used version 1.23.4 of the mod in the previous video. Version 1.23.6 is being used in this battle. AI aim tolerance was modified in this patch. That means that the AI will fully aim at their target before firing. It may have decreased the amount of shots fired by the Russians. It probably caused the Mörser to fire less due to the more precise target acquiring required.

Diplex, after each battle, you should replay it, but instead of wave by wave, send everybody at once for a real charge. Btw I love things like this, so keep building imposing fortresses to oppress the countryside.

Concnetrate the heavy and medium armor in the first few waves. The final ones should be mass infantry, static guns and light armor.

if youre not interested in sitting through he narrative, the initial wave commences its attack at 4:24 , followed by 6:36 to round out the tier 1 attacks, for tier 2, , 9:07, and the 210 gun initially fires at 10:21 followed by the next wave at 10:41, he actually launches the FOURTH wave at 14:04 , then 16:59, and the final wave is released at 19:33

You need to make bigger attack squads. And let the Germans Attack for a change maybe you can make something like the Stalin Line soo you would have the Germans attack the fortress and the Soviet Union defend it

The problem is you keep pushing one wave at a time on the same spot, poor tactics. Should split a wave in two and push on two sides.

If the waves were combined into 4 very large groups, the results would have been better

You focused way too much on that navy gun. And having all the Russians and British attack the same way is dumb and boring, spread them out and attack in different directions. Other wise it's just a rehash of the last wave.

You could give the atackers static artillery to soften up the fortress.

One problem I don't like about sieges is that the attacking force bodies disappear due to the artillery and we can really see how effective the defense is

I think the big mistake in the attack plan was not leading with the heavy tanks. IS series tanks were infantry support so the guns could smash fortified positions. That was the same role for the KV2 but that tank had the added feature of not working. Not working is generally looked down upon in military circles.

Some Ideas ! : Karl Thor in the backround , Hummel in the backround , give the attackers some planes and more heavy attacker tanks !

Diplex, please try this fortress against a naval invasion.

This fortress is awesome.

Diplex, it might be against a set of rules you've set for yourself, but perhaps you'll need to order the infantry up yourself, so they don't hold back and stay in cover. The assaulting infantry seem cowardly at best and are running to the cover of the tanks, but the infantry aren't going to move and will sit there, getting pounded by German artillery. With all the MGs there will be an abundance of casualties, so it will likely come to something of a land-based D-Day scenario, but it seems to be the only way to enter the fortress.

Keep this setup! Please! I'm American and although unrealistic for us to just charge a fort without bombardment or softening of any kind, I want to see if we can by some whim of luck do this. Happy Holidays Diplex!

You should do an alternate timeline for this base. The Italians decided that the war was to costly so they betrayed the Germans and joined forces with the U.S. and British forces.
