Diplopia is the medical term for double vision, which is when a person is looking at an object and instead of seeing just the one object that is present, they see two, for example. Diplopia can be intermittent or temporary, but if you are experiencing double vision, you should see the advice of an ophthalmologist. @@Kathhhh294 if the double vision is caused due to squint then ask the doctor to prescribe u with prism glasses,and wear them for atleast 6 month... U can see the improvement after couple of months❤️ Don't worry ❤️

I've had binocular double vision for 2 years, doctors said it can't be fixed. Glasses the only solution apparently. Gets much worse in the winter time, which I've never understood, I suspect it's because of lower light making eyes more tired.

I'm confused, I only have double vision when I look at two things for example when I'm looking at my phone I'll see double vision if I look at the phone I will see double if there's something in the background, like if I focus on the phone but something else is in the background like a light I'll see double of the light in the background but if I look at the light and not focus on the phone in the background I'll see double of the phone, its not there 24/7 just when I focus on one thing that isn't close and the other is close,

@@molkisha thanks for responding 🙏. My double vision was due only to high myopia with too much difference in correction powers. I had cataract surgery done in both eyes to eliminate this difference. Being 57 this was easier. This problem was totally gone immediately after. One can try contact lenses of correct powers for each eye separately instead of glasses. This was my exoerience but doc knows better. Wishing you well 🙏

I have been off balance. I've had a double-vision episode just once, lasting less than 2, maybe 3, mins -- about 6 / 7 years ago. Never before and never after. My ophthalmologist thinks it must have been a freak occurrence since she found nothing abnormal during my yearly eye exam.

Binocular double vision in the distance for the last week, gets better with rest but only for a bit, or if I move my eyes with my fingers. Eyes look good, CT scan clear. Suspecting Myasthenia Gravis, awaiting more results, MRI and bloodwork.

@@molkisha Better lately, but have been really resting eyes, won't know until I have e.g. driven for a few hours looking in distance. Awaiting MRI (backlogged) and followup with ophthalmologist.

I don’t understand why, but I don’t see them too separate, but just a tad bit off, so it looks layered, but I can’t differentiate the two, I just know it’s there, and it’s annoying. If anyone else has experienced this please let me know

Doctor I have had this illness over 5 years I am 18 currently and I have binocular diplopia it worsens especially at night. 5 years ago I had Double vision between 80-100metres now it has reached 2-3 metres.I am so disappointed and frustrated with this illness. I live in Uzbekistan. I even met with lots of doctors and they couldn't figure out this illness. They recommended me to see neurologist.And The neurologist prescibed some medicine after seeing my brain's radiography results. To tell you the truth I can see no changes . Been freaking out over this. Been Having double vision in one eye since yesterday. It's better today but still there. My new job is online so I'm constantly looking at a screen and also haven't been getting hardly any sleep. Both eyes are red and sore. Going to go one more day of giving my eyes a break and see if this goes away.

What was your solution. Was is warming,massaging,cleaning ? I’m in the same boat now. One eye seeing double. Optometrist told me it was meibum glands that I need to keep clean twice daily.

@@rikdol really? Glands being blocked can cause this as well? Because of dry eye or? Ahh resolution to this?

@@molkisha well. His explanation was that it makes the ‘tearfilm’ blurry. And I do notice a difference after cleaning but so far the double vision stays. The tear film stabilizes the corneal surface. And if this gets disturbed all kinds of weird artifacts can sometimes be seen.

@@rikdol I’ve heard that dry eyes can cause this, but it’s so weird that it has started all of a sudden for both of us? Or maybe I just paid attention to it? Sounds like it could be astigmatism also, no? Let me know if you have any solutions eventually or see another doctor.

I also have this, it's called bilateral monocular diplopia or ghosting vision, I see like an aurora of the object I'm looking at, I see everything like that, but it's more noticeable at night with the moon separating further, the image is frustrating and I've had suicidal thoughts. I don't want this. The truth is, but we have to find a solution. Today I woke up better, it went away but I'm sure it will come back at any moment, and as you continue, you found a cure. I hope you did.

Mines in my right eye. It feels kind of sore when I look up without moving my head. At the same time I'm looking up, I see double but not when my eyes are level or looking down. It's also with both eyes. Doesn't happen when one eye is covered. It started after I was recording some music. My face was in the pop filter and I had to look at a weird angle to read the lyrics. It's been like this for a few hours.

I had double vision for like 7 months it turned out I have myasthenia graves. It’s an autoimmune disease that affects the muscles making them weak. If you are having double vision you may want to see a neurologist and get tested for myasthenia graves
