Hi doc!! I'm currently self-treating my binocular diplopia and have many questions. I was born with 4 degrees of astigmatism in my left eye and ptosis, so basically as i was getting older I didn't want to use my left eye so i would close it and use just my right eye and my face angled to the left to have more periferic suport for it. With 6 years i did blefaroplastia and started using eyepatch but i didnt know any physiology at that time and i ignored it ( external/up strabismus) till college when I couldn't use pippetes cause i would see two eppendorfs. Also I've always felt like my left side of the face was kind of "non-expressive" and flat, so i started doing researches and here i am. Could you tell me if i continue stimulating my left muscles one day my diplopia will be gone (I've started experiencing stereoscopic perception in a couple days)...

Also Glaucoma causes some type of Diplopia (Ghosting Vision in the affected eye/eyes due to loss of axons and RNFL) which the brain can't interpret the full signal from the eyes.

I think I have binocular, I recently had a pons stroke and my right eyeball moved to the right. It always been a lazy eye from birth but it was straight. I just couldn’t read the eye chart after the first big E and maybe early on the second line with 2 E E’s . Now I have double vision more in that eye, but if I cover that eye I have double vision in the left eye when I look all the way left in that eye. The main symptom is I’m extremely dizzy and my peripheral vision in my right eye is off. Objects appear doubled/closer than they actually are. I was told by the ophthalmologist and neurologist that only time will tell if it will return to normal. Meclizine doesn’t help much and at times I’m so nauseous to the point I don’t want to eat or if I do, I vomit. It’s hard to walk around and do things cause I feel like I will fall, I’ve actually caught myself from falling. I will eventually cus before the stroke I’ve had falls. In closing… This sucks!

Have monocular diplopia in right eye from ptosis induced astigmatism (in my opinion) and cataracts (to be removed shortly). Will the preliminary exam for the new implanted lenses be able to get the Rx correctly going thru the ptosis induced 'wrinkle' of the astigmatism? Or will that astigmatism go away after ptosis corrective eyelid surgery no longer has the eyelid drooping across the field of vision causing the wrinkle? And if the implanted lenses were compensating for the "temporary" astigmatism that fades away after the ptosis surgery, where does that leave me with wrong Rx for the lenses?

after not being able to afford glasses and nothing really working i started really breaking down what was happening when my vision went double. I found that my dominant eye started to "look around" my nose vs looking through it. Now i watch tv on my bad side to train my eye, forcing my good eye to look through my nose, as opposed to around it. My double vision is almost completely gone in a matter of weeks. Anyone reading this, try picking a spot on a wall, or head on a tv to follow. Try really hard and look through your nose at the object (like a side gaze), open your eyes up real wide as well, the more light that can enter the better.

Can you explain more? I dont get how did you do to cure your diplopia, it would really help as I sometimes see 8 ghost images of one object
@airic2897
@airic2897 4 жыл бұрын
@@mustko999 does this happen with one eye open or both eyes open? start doing eye exercises every day, there are a lot of good ones online. i just basically learned how to control each eye individually and can make my double vision disappear now. but my muscle memory is still messed up and i dont remember to do it sometimes. i found that i was making my right eye dominant when looking left, which made my left eye veer and caused two images. also try looking at something close like a book, then focusing on something far away. close your eyes often to rest them as well. also Systane makes nice eye drops that id suggest you get too

@@airic2897 i have it in both eyes, when i close one and the other it still remains, when i open both i see 3 objects, original and 2 ghosts, if one openws i see 2 objects original and a ghost, but I think its way worse, like today at 01:00 (lisbon timeline) when i was on a dark hallway, there was a light and I could see up to 7 ghosts of the original, on the bottom, up and right, one eye worse than other. I dont think eye exeecises will make it better

@@mustko999 the eye exercises will definitely help, but have u seen a eye doctor yet? i had prism lenses and it sounds like you definitely could use them too. eventually though they did more harm than good, for me. so i just did tons of different eye exercises until one day i made my double vision when looking left, correct itself. best of luck man

@@saravanankumar9580 Yes. I had an eye exam since I posted. The condition is called strabismus. My condition is aggravated by poor vision over all-at my age, I have to corrected both distance and close up vision. Coincidentally, there was a report on TV that eye doctors are treating a lot more kids with the condition. They suspect it’s because students have spent an inordinate amount of time on their digital devices because of remote schooling. I use my phone a lot less now because the season is changing and I have a lot to do outdoors. If my condition doesn’t improve on its own, I’ll consult a specialist who might recommend eye exercises.

hi. i try to understand the uptodate information. " If vertical separation is worse on right gaze, the right superior or inferior rectus or the left inferior or superior oblique may be underactive; separation that is worse looking to the right and down suggests underactivity of the right inferior rectus or left superior oblique." can u make a video explain the pathophysiology behind this?

@@naturehub782 I have a stigmatism and also Irlen Syndrome. Tinted lenses for the Irlen helped some and the eye MD called my double vision in either/both eyes "ghosting" - a prism is supposed to help the stigmatism but for me it doesn't eliminate the ghosting 🫤 I'm hoping to try my Irlen tint on prescription prism lenses next and see if that combination reduces the effect.
