Direct Contact will release as an early access title on Steam, release date has been pushed back. Really excited to see where this game goes! Sharing my first impressions of Direct Contact, and showcasing some features of the game. Thanks again to the developers Mountain 81 for giving me a key to try the game out and feature it on the channel! I don't think I even need to say this, but incase you were wondering NO this wasn't sponsored, I wasn't paid anything from the devs. IF I ever did a "paid" sponsorships, you would know. I would make it known before the video even begins.

*update* The steam page now says "coming soon" no longer being released on December 13th! Since recording this gameplay, I have downloaded 3 updates from the devs, so they are hard at work by the looks of it! The game can only keep getting better from here. I didn't show too much of the customization here because I was trying to keep this video quick and to-the-point, but I would like to do a video specifically on the customization, because the customization is pretty extensive, reminds me of Ground Branch. I think it would be interesting to go through it for a video. In the meantime I have the Ghost Recon Breakpoint FPS mod to try and I want that to be next up for me!

GLID introduced me to this game, and the fact that he's working with the devs to make it as realistic and accurate as they can is what makes me so excited for this game. And from what I've seen so far, it looks really good so far!

You're looking at a game where the dev don't care about you, making an actual good game, or any true feedback. Unless you stroke ed's ego, don't mention anything honest about the game that needs fixing. They claim they want your feed back, yet give it and possible solutions to anything they're struggling (example ai with super vision and reaction, all it takes is a pixel to spot you) to fix it and guess what? Well along with a number of other people; you'll be the next one to lose the key you paid for( with no refund) , banned from their discord, and then on top of that have lies about you madeu up on discord saying you either where trying to force them to do something or you were really rude to them yet they give zero evidence of it. On top of that lemon will say "HA HA you got banned" yet won't even tell you what reason they made up for you being banned. So think and protect yourself instead of supporting a dev that just wants your money to feed his dream instead of making an actual good game people want.

wow, sounds like a mess I watched one of his videos where he was comparing his game's control binds to Zero Hour's, I can't remember the exact details (since he deleted that video) but I remember it sounded like has was downplaying Zero Hour for having less complex controls and that's not the most interesting part yet, he even compared his game to Call of Duty and Battlefield, and the crazy thing is this is not the first time he drew such comparison, it made me chuckle and wonder if this "developer" had an identity crisis that he even considered his game like CoD and BF, or what kind of game he wanted his to be like, or simply an acknowledgement that different people have different taste and that having a more or less complex controls or gameplay doesn't make a game better or worse than another

@@phulam3458 yeah he screwed me and idk how many other peeps. And I got banned from commenting on his steam page for "spreading false information" when I'm only trying to protect others from being screwed.

@@josmo2256 I kinda saw a slight spark of ego from watching some of his videos but had no idea it was this serious, it's not a bad thing to take your game seriously but letting too much ego get in the way can be harmful if I might ask, what did you say specifically that made him deem it "false information"?

@@phulam3458 Basically that I mentioned that the ai had "xray vision" because it took just one pixel for them to see you and could see you through the bushes, I gave him free of charge a possible soution. And also mentioned that a 3080ti (taptop) getting 10 fps is really bad otimization and that they banned me for sayting that stuff and then lemon said I told him how to make his game and other bs.. and so I warned people on steam about. Well that's the "false info" that's actually truth. I get nothing out of sharing it instead I even got mocked by other from writing it. So no gain for me.

two questions: 1) is this planned on console? 2) being a controller pleb that I am, if it's only a PC release, will there be controller supported?

This will be a PC game not a console release, unfortunately. Tbh, I haven't checked if there is controller support. At this stage, I don't believe so

@@GhostIslandThunder Can you create a controller layout? In Arma, I use both as you can't do everything with the controller. But my basic shooting, leaning, nvg, reload stuff I have schemed on a controller.

it is a one man show and it is very noticeable. some parts of the game look kind of weird and amature and other parts look kind of OK. I think he should get some reinforcements on those aspects that are not his stronger suit.

Are you another content creator that signed an NDA with these guys for early access and now can’t give an honest review after the disaster of a launch? I’m very curious why none of the KZfaqrs who were hyping this game are crickets now especially as there should be so much to discuss like the Discord meltdown, mass wiping of comments and bans on Steam or the basic fact they’ve taken down the official KZfaq channel which had thousands of subscribers and replaced it with a Mountain81 channel with 34 total subscribers…lol. All the old videos are gone including the links to them on Discord. The Dev changed his Discord name and so did some of the mods. Seems there should be so much to discuss yet most content creators went silent.

Big Fry did a pretty good video on the topic covering all the drama after release. As far as my "relationship" goes with this developer. I have no relationship. Never received an NDA. Never signed anything. The reason why this video exists is because randomly outta nowhere one day via email, the dev reached out and asked if I wanted a free key to try out the game to cover it on my channel. I said sure! This is the first time a dev has reached out to me like this. So I did the video, they never replied back to me after that or messaged me saying thanks for the video etc. I just went in blind knowing nothing about these guys or the game. I saw that they were a small team and they were trying to make a tac shooter and I was happy for them and looking forward to it but I felt there was a LOT of work left to be completed on the game to even get it as an early access release. Now the reason I haven't done a follow up video after everything, is because I'm over it, and don't really care about the project anymore enough to even do a follow up. I wasn't part of any of that discord drama or meltdowns etc. I simply won't make a follow up video either just to crap on the devs now. Like I said Big Fry already covered the game, there's really nothing much for me really to report on. Hope this reply finds you well and clears things up for ya.

@@GhostIslandThunder Thanks for the reply. I wasn’t trying to single you out, I often go back to older videos that I watched to see if there are updates. I just believe content creators should bare some responsibility for games they highlight to their viewers. BigFry did a great video but BigFry never covered the game during the pre-release. I know at least one other content creator who told me he can’t give his honest opinion due to NDA so that’s why I brought it up. Thanks for the explanation. Cheers!
