I loved unicorn store. I saw myself in kit and I cried when she finally saw the unicorn. It made me so happy to see a film that portrays the idea that it's okay to fail at being conventional and just make your own way in life!

Storytimes with Brie are awesome. Now, she did get to share more about Unicorn Store which is one of the films not many talk about but it is an actual gem. She did a great job with that movie, whether it was with directing and producing. She's quite talented.

She a really human and she is like the rest of us. She own her own money and doing the job she love and care what happening in the country and how people are treat each other. She care about people to be treat equally. I agree what she said about that report complain about a kids movie . Kids don't care but if adult care so much need to grow up and everyone attack her need to realize that they are bully and death threat need to be report. Don't let people tell you that you can't fight for human right. I know what discrimination mean for someone with a learning disability and woman and not part of my state (Utah) religion understand what is discrimination mean.

the unicorn store takes such a special place in my heart and has been so inspiring. i hope to write, direct and star in my own movies, and it's so so meaningful to see another woman who has already done that. makes me feel less crazy for wishing that lol. also the movie is so good. it's just very niche, it will resonate with a specific audience and most people who hate on it probably just can't relate to the main character so they immediately assume it "bad". but that movie is like a love poem to artists and creatives who struggle to fit in the system. personally, it has impacted me a lot and i'm so happy that Brie got to do it. it's absolutely perfect the way it is.

Hi Brie!I just saw your speech on equal representation for minority groups in film review and I just wanted to thank you for speaking up. You really came prepared and did a lot of research, and it was so well thought out and powerful. What I primarily wanted you to know is that as a straight white male whose films preferences are pretty aligned with the standard straight white male, you got your message across very clearly and I understand the issue much better. Honestly, most of the films that are being neglected wouldn't be my style anyway, but I accept that not everything is made for me, and that men like me don't need to be gatekeepers for films that aren't for us. Anyway, thank you, Job well done. Message received. Oh and also, Unicorn Store is easily my favorite movie of yours!

I'm so happy to get to watch this! When this movie came out was around the time when I was trying to decide whether or not to chase down my dream of being a director or to give it up and pursue finance. The Unicorn Store was among the factors that helped me to decide the former and it's been a great ride ever since.

I just saw it tonight so I'm late to the party but this is one of the most unique and resonant films I've seen in a long long time, the whimsicalness of it is breathtaking and the set and sound and prop and costume design in it is brilliant, the acting gives such palpable life and depth to every single character, and the writing is literary in a kinda hidden way and beautiful, and the way its shot and edited is revolutionary and expertly crafted for maximum impact and awe, this is truly a film that's firing perfectly on all cylinders, a completely profound one of a kind work of art

And to be fair, you also seem like a terrible judge of character. Realistically she does not look fake AT ALL. There are other actors on YT who do, and she doesn't. Unicorn store was such a magical movie for me because the first time I watched it I had recently applied to art school and not getting in was so stressful and watching kits story just made me feel like “well if all else fails I can just put glitter on my feet and everything will be okay” (and now I’ve finished my first year of art school and loved so much of it!)

What a beautiful film, 🎉It made me cry, in the end it doesn't matter if the Unicorn is real or not, what mattered is the journey it took Kit on, and what it represented in her life, both her loneliness and also her awesome imagination and her need for self acceptance and bravery to live her life. I absolutely love that you're actually talking about the production process and behind the scenes bits. It's all so fascinating! I remember watching Unicorn Store when I was real low, and just sobbing near the end, because it's really relatable and hit harder than I thought it would. But it honestly was so uplifting and beautiful, and I love hearing how much you enjoyed and loved making the world (and story) real.

As an aspiring director, this is so good to hear. I’ve directed a few short films but never an actual movie. I know the process and all the crew members responsibilities and all, but what I’m lacking it’s experience (and money, lol). I truly admire you Brie, and watching this after pandemic and having had to turn to something other than filming to support myself, I think I’m ready to get right back on the horse again (as long as it ain’t on the 2nd floor right?) thank you for this, I truly appreciate it. And if things go the right way, who knows... maybe you and I could end up working on the same project (I wish). Good luck with your KZfaq adventure, I genuinely enjoy it and many more people do so as well.

This film means so much to me! I used to watch it when working on projects right after I switched to a theatre major in my second semester. It helped me see that I made the right decision. I will graduate in December with a degree in theatre design and tech! Best decision ever!! (I was also working a very boring job at the time that involved scanning documents for hours on end in a bland, dull office)

Honestly I always love watching Brie's videos, but when I saw this was about Unicorn Store I don't think I ever clicked so fast. Unicorn Store is truthfully my favourite movie, I watched it when I felt in a very similar place to the character I'd just left art school, had moved home and had absolutely no idea what I was doing. The movie truly helped me alot and is such a comfort and beautiful story. The ending when Kit is talking to the unicorn without fail makes me cry everytime. It's so whimsical and beautiful and thank you and the team behind it for making such a wonderful story it truly is so full of magic

Unicorn Store's plot seems very simple, but one can find many layers... It's captivating how so few elements can achieve different readings... The hand of Brie conduces us through a experience with some reminiscences of Carrol's Alice. I'm writing an essay about the film and l find each time I like this movie more. 🌼

I've been looking forward to this video for a long time. As much as I want to see you act in Captain Marvel 2 and other projects, I want to see your next film as a director just as much. Also, I'm so happy to see how you treat your collaborators. People often create this false division between "creatives" and "technical." But they're ALL creative people using their talents to help tell a story!

I personally just finished watching the Unicorn store this week and I can honestly say I loved it. I do agree with you that many people when they think of a director they think that the director knows everything and the truth is not everybody knows everything sometimes it's good to think out of the box and defer answers to be answered by people who may be more qualified than us due to their experience. Life is all about learning what we don't know failing at things that we do in learning how to achieve at those things that we fail and those things that we strive that we want to do at least in my opinion.

I love the breaking the rules part. I am trying to be a writer, 12 years ago I was trying to sell an animated series (in Latin America, which is a million times harder cause there are not many studios) and at first, I got a couple executives excited, but at the end, no one bought it cause It was too weird. I gave it a lot of thought about changing it, and I quickly came to an answer, no way, I always wanted it to be weird. I am turning the idea into a book and in a turn of events things like the Good Place and Coco had great success, so maybe now is not as weird. Still, even if nobody publishes it I am honestly so ok with that, I just wanna write it to see how far my imagination can go and that is enough for me.

I connected with Unicorn Store in a way I never expected to. I went in thinking it was just a fun quirky movie that an interesting concept then- BAM! It ended up speaking to me soul.

This is a fantastic and underrated movie. I hope that you continue doing indie films, especially ones with an experimental approach. When I read Salinger, it feels like someone whispering a reassuring personal secret to me, and that's how watching Unicorn Store felt. Also, I think we may share a similar sense of humor. Thank you for taking risks. That's what the best artists do.
