He’s just a film snob with a controversial opinion or two under his belt like all of us. Love that he’s not afraid to shit talk, he’s got a good spirit. It’s not like a revolutionary or anything but it’s refreshing when a film maker is not all peaches and cream about film. Nirvanna The Band The Show is a great stab at geek culture and unabashed obsessions

The fact that it's kinda mindless sh*t is what bothers me. He guested on Sardonicast and said that Under The Silver Lake just had pacing/structural issues that could have been tightened in editing. Now he's devolved to just saying it's worthless outside of Garfield's performance with no real justification behind it.

Just came out the North Hollywood Laemmle theater in Los Angeles, this is the first review I clicked on, driving around with Ninja turtles movie in hand was hilarious, film was great. My number one of all time is Requiem for a Dream, followed by A Scanner Darkly, Martyrs and The Prestige... gonna go start a Letterboxd now.

Been doing some research on you since seeing Blackberry this past Sunday 5/May/2023. Absolutely loved it!!! So much better than all these shitty comic book movies. You obviously focus on subjects regarding Canada and I have a suggestion: do something on the Northwest Rebellion in Manitoba in 1885.

Comic book movies are a low standard. He focuses on subjects relating to Canada in order to meet funding requirements set out by the federal government (if they want to use any of the grants and such. there is a very strict set of rules one has to follow.) I doubt he would have had been able to get this film funded if he decided to shoot it in the US.
