This spring, the JBFC is thrilled to offer a new after-school production course, Director's Cut: Fundamentals of Filmmaking! In this intensive pre-collegiate course for high school students, participants will learn the craft of filmmaking through the creation of an original short film. Guided by Anthony Q. Artis, NYU Adjunct Faculty, and collaborating in crews, students will engage in a series of practical exercises and activities aimed at mastering the core components of crafting a visual narrative.
Tailored guidance will be provided to enhance each student’s existing skills, with sessions featuring live demonstrations, hands-on test shoots, film screenings… and always plenty of fun. On the last day of class, students will showcase their work for family and friends at the Jacob Burns Film Center’s Theater. Please note that payment plans and scholarships are also available!
