By chance, I was able to meet Wolfgang Petersen thru a friend. He was a very nice, humble person with a great sense of humor. He was easy going, and quite funny. RIP

"Das Boot" is as good as it is, because it goes clise to show humanity. Wolfgang Petersen was in certain films an extremely good director. You knew how to show humanity.

Hate Charlie Rose, always has to interrupt the people he I s interviewing to put words in their mouths to show us how smart he is. Glad he is finally shut up.

And to mispronounce the name of his interviewee's greatest movie. It's cool you don't know how to pronounce "Das Boot"; after all, you're not German. But how about checking on it before you start taping?
