In this video Watch me have fun creating a coffee "grinder" from old tools and scrap parts in my workshop mostly working on my 1945 South Bend 16" x 8' lathe.
My coffee is awesome, I start every day with a cup - they’re great pre ground but if you want some extra flavor grinding em right before you make them on you home made coffee grinder!

Maybe it's free just for USA and Canada... Still it is improvement since regular store did not ship to Montenegro when I wanted ice picks. Had to get it trough mail forwarding service which failed as it is "weapon"... better luck next time

i can't even begin to imagine what James Hoffman will think of your grinder, but I certainly was entertained. And you can also use the thing to cut onions!

It's not a coffee grinder, it's a coffee chopper. And a chopper isn't good for coffee beans.

I'd like to believe that this entire video was shot between 8am and 9am one morning as Jimmy desperately tries to get some coffee before starting the real work for the day, probably with Taylor in the background complaining 'Jimmy, where's my morning coffee???'

I would love to see you build a actual grinder. This one is more like a blender. I am curious as to how hard it would be to align the burrs or stones

Amazing. My Dad's Uncle Arthur had one of the grinders in his workshop. When we visited his farm my brother and I would play with the grinder and sharpen whatever we thought needed it. LOL. Thanks for the memory and sharing the video.

Oh this was a fun build! I always enjoy watching you design on the fly based on what you find laying around the shop like this. Positioning the the mounting ring for the bean jar/blade carrier with that janky pile of clamps and welding the support arms directly into place was pure genius!

I really really like this one, specially since I have that old hand-crank grinder similar to yours. It was something that my granpa bought, to keep his knifes sharped, and when I see it in the video dude.. brought me back some good memories!

This is one of the most enjoyable videos from Jimmy in a long time. Not crapping on his recent videos - I just really enjoyed this one. I think what I liked most was that I had no idea what he was going to do next. What wound be the next problem/design requirement and what wound be the answer. I don’t drink coffee and I’ll never make a coffee grinder but it was truly fun to watch the thought and build process. Thanks.
