Gravel road and driveway owner here. I love the look of that stone but I normally use some thing like 3/4 minus. In the winter I find that most of the larger stone will end up in the plow’s snow pile. The 3/4 minus compacts much better, especially if you wet it down after compaction.

Nice looking job!! Better be careful or the tummy will start to grow with Colin doing all the heavy lifting!!! Hahaha. He seems like a good employee. Young and willing to learn, and just doesn’t like standing still. I have used this in some areas in the past for appearance, but I’m a little OCD and as such, since it never really packs, I found I was often raking the gravel to clean up all the tracks that showed up every time a vehicle went over it. I had so much gravel base at the ranch from the years, I just bought a levelling blade with scarifies as part of it. The size of our yard that wasn’t paved was rather significant, but after a day on the little 45 hp John Deere we had it was looking good! I would put the teeth on the bucket and dig out and pack, in lifts, the deeper holes we would get from all the heavy equipment. Went 4 years before adding a bit of clean gravel to get a better mix. That more than paid for the implement and it’s yes. This doesn’t work for everyone and would never have been worth it for this smaller parking pad/driveway. As usual, the job looks great when you leave! Nice work Mike & Colin!! I’m hoping today is a great day for you both!!

Funny I just spread about 20 yards of 3/4 stone at my house with my compact tractor and mini ex. All I could think about was that tilt bucket lol. The edges are really difficult to do then I would end up with too much in the middle and have to hand rake. Can't complain, I didn't have to do it with a shovel and wheelbarrow!

Did you see that new skid steer from Case called the "Minotaur" with the Dozer attachment and ripper? Mike [Dirt Perfect] lent it to Kleeman to jam in a road to his brother's new property. Be cool to get your take on the 2 vids Captain Kleeman did to show what it's all about [he gave it the two thumbs up and didn't spare it the ponies]. Popping out stumps and all. Thing was / is impressive. Like to see Case drop one off for you to put one through its paces ;-)

Really nice job. You have great control over the speed at which the gravel leaves the bucket edge. I like how the tilt will fill in areas on the side that usually require more effort. Question: I am looking to get a tilt attach but not sure what brand and if it should be outfitted with the auxiliary valve to run a grapple or 4 in 1. Your thoughts?

@@alittlebitofeverything5090 I think you're right. It would probably be too heavy for my tractor as well. I have a 2019LS XG3025, which is really a MT225 with a LL3300 FEL. But I think the top and tilt would be great for it, especially with my land plane...
