Yamaha, if you reading this, please: offer different versions of the YXZ. Like a YXZ1000R, being the way it is. A YXZ1000XC, being a trail cat with big tires and gear reduction + heavy clutches from factory, and a winch. And something like a YXZ1000DS for the dunes and desert, with a pre-installed GYTR turbo kit and everything that goes along with it...i personally would love the XC idea

I have 3700 miles on my YXZ, most of it with the gear-reduction kit and Rekluse clutch. This thing will go anywhere you want to go, and it is so fun to drive!! The quality fit and finish of the YXZ is unmatched in the SXS industry. After 3700 miles, the cab is still tight as a dish. Everyone I have talked to that has had any seat-time with the YXZ -- just loves it. The gear-reduction kit is now a dealer option for the 1000R version of the YXZ. The 998cc triple-cylinder engine is a monster to say the least, and it keeps you grinning from ear-to-ear. I live near the rock crawling capitol of the world -- Moab, Utah. I have been to Moab 6 times with my YXZ, and it performs like a champion in the rocks and desert conditions.

Rodney Sessions I 100% agreed. YZX is the best for now on....

Hey man so be honest, I really want one of these but I'll be honest I want the best of every world haha with the gear reduction kit, does it still rip when you want it to? Is it still fast as shit and spinning tires in turns and still good in the wide open? How did the gear reduction effect the speed when trying to really open it up and race around?
@JsGarage5 жыл бұрын
Rodney Sessions I don’t think any one would deny it as a nice machine or a fun machine. With that said I’ve seen plenty that went yxz and moved on for various reasons. Personally, I think the X3 and Turbo S are the leaders. With big travel, big power, good gearing they have great overall capability while soaking up jumps the yxz dreams of.
@JsGarage5 жыл бұрын
Matthew Young what ever makes you feel good guy. Don’t get your feelings hurt so bad. You send the yxz all you want. The suspension design and lack of turbo level power leave the YXZ with more room for improvement. It’s a fine machine but it doesn’t compete on the high end of SxS.
@matthewyoung72465 жыл бұрын
@@JsGarage I'm making fun of you because you have no clue what you're talking about. I can get a 2019 yxz ss with a yamaha turbo for 22,000 out the door 16,000 without the turbo . The 19s have motor internals to take up to 400 hp. You can get the option of the turbo right from the dealer, same with gear reduction. The suspension is the only thing they fall on. But with shock therapy and long travel ,if you want ,it's just as good . And all that for cheaper then an x3 . They are all fun , but to say it's not as good or as High end , is absolutely ridiculous especially when it comes to polaris shit product. They still burn to the ground and have constant recalls.

Yamaha owes it to Tubeworks for saving their east cost sales.

totally think this machine would be so much better with a high low range transfer case..... go Balz out in high and launch your boat or pull a stump or mud bog in low.
@ROTAXD6 жыл бұрын
Ernie Desjardins no need. If they designed a true wide ratio gearset the yxz would have a granny stump puller of a first gear & a nice tall 5th that could hang with a n/a 1liter rzr up top.
@JsGarage5 жыл бұрын
ROTAXD that engine just doesn’t have the bottom end. Even with the bottom end power the RZR has it is beneficial for it to have the low gear that it has.
@sharoncroom79187 жыл бұрын
Currently considering this gear reduction kit but I'm wondering if and how much of a hit do I take on top end speed after it is installed? 'm just looking to rip on straight aways but when the trails slow me down, I would like to have the best configuration. Thanks

YXZ 1000R SS What happens if you add Gear Reduction Kit And Turbo kit?
@LegacyIvyTerascale6 жыл бұрын
i just wanted to know what Ratio does it have
@ROTAXD6 жыл бұрын
A true wide ratio kit is what's needed. A shorter 1st & second gear. Keep third about where/what it is. Fourth & fifth could actually stand to be a bit taller for the guys running oe sized rubber.

Very informative video. If I plan on trail riding, I should get a sxs with a cvt.

We just bought the Can Am. Good in the dunes AND trails. They were smart enough to factory install a LOW RANGE. LOL!

went to mulberry Ark first time have a 2021 txz1000 yamahal don’t like the clutch 5 mph it we’ll kick out not good. putting in a gear reduction 1st 70% 2nd 50%. 3 rd 30% and a clutch didn’t want to give up the soft ride

para que sirve este kit??????

70% is too much off first gear unless you're climbing Everest. And yes you do loose a lot of top end. I lost 10 mph with 30" tires and the OD5th still.

The gear reduction should be an already factory installed option for the East and Southeast drivers. I took a test drive down a paved road in a 2016,personally I wasn't impressed with how fast 1st gear would carry you. Made me rethink about buying a YXZ.
@Chevysrule4547 жыл бұрын
Uh isnt it low range?
@endurotruckererniedesjardins7 жыл бұрын
something I noticed about the yxz is alot of people are buying this thinking this banshee of a side by side is gonna do the job of a big bear. it's too bad people don't understand what this machines intended use is. this up grade is a great idea to help all the unhappy customers who are to stupid to buy the right machine for the type of riding they do. reality is most people who buy this should of really bought a rhino or Wolverine or something with a high low range gear box better suited to go slow.
@shawndejong66997 жыл бұрын
Same idea for the SS?
@shawndejong66997 жыл бұрын
Neat, It's sad it'll probably cost another grand or two over stock, which makes the new X3 that much more appealing. I do have a soft spot for rowing my own gears tho.

They still won't work adrenaline junkie in his vid they had a yxz with a recluse clutch and a 70% gear reduction not only did it get stuck a lot but the clutch still burnt up

no low range? For same money May as well get a Kawasaki Teryx 1000 then. Otherwise Yamaha better lower the price for this thing to $10k

I love how the Yamaha rep degrades people that would buy the recluse clutch kit "they are not very confident". Lets get real honest here on the YXZ for a few min. IT IS NOT AN EAST COAST MACHINE RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. If it was you wouldn't have to buy THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of dollars worth of add on's (from Yamaha) just to make it be able to do the tasks that other SxS's do right out of the box with ease. I guess I should say you have to buy the parts to make it do it as easily as the others do it. Shifting is fun....but not when your slow crawling on rocks and bouncing around because that bounce pulls your foot on or off the clutch pedal. Thanks Yamaha for also degrading people that happen to ride in large groups and calling it a "Parade" and saying that people that do that are not as comfortable with driving a stick. That is not the case. The reality is that you didnt make a machine to do what people wanted. You made a machine to do what YOU wanted and then expected us (the consumers) to mold to your machine. Sorry but it doesnt work that way. Just the fact that you offer the recluse and this gear reduction kit is admitting that you fouled up and only thought about dunners.
@garyroberts72577 жыл бұрын
Chad Shumaker it's simple haven't seen a razr yet that would hold up as far as reliability and wearing belts out or melting them down on to can am price tag is huge and their parts even a spark plug give u sticker shock I will give can am a little higher ranks in reliability Yamaha reliability is worth the price I have ran Yamaha everything and never been let down or left to walk home the rekluse clutch is a option with gear reduction not a requirement to each their own I suppose
@fzjake92307 жыл бұрын
Yamaha pretty much did exactly what I wanted. i had always thought side by sides were dumb, boring, wife-mobiles until the yxz came out. If it's not your machine, then fine, don't buy it. I couldn't imagine not being able to bang through gears like a race buggy. CVT seems boring as hell, and just sounds plain annoying. Is it better for tight trial stuff? Yea, maybe, but that's not what I do much of. They are selling plenty of them here in the PNW.
@wraleen5 жыл бұрын
Jake Carpenter they are selling plenty..... so many that I just found a Brand New YXZ 1000R, with the new sales tags, sitting in the dealership today right beside of a used 2018 that a guy traded for a 2019. The 16 is selling for the same price as a 2019 RZR RS-1. Come down to NC and see for yourself

I own one I ride with razors and can am I go everywhere they no proper aren’t adrenaline junkies but we ride hard and so riding every trail black blue and green that the Hatfield and McCoy trails have to offer and have had zero problem on any of them if you can’t drives manual Tranny then I would get a cvt and be done with it but in my case I love the fact that it is my driving that gets me to the top
@j.gilman937 жыл бұрын
let's pay to fix their machine instead of buying a side by side that can do everything better
@manbeastx697 жыл бұрын
Buy a new YXZ 1000 then buy a gear reduction kit then purchase a rekluse clutch kit just to be able to ride on the east coast or with your friends,sounds like Yamaha missed the boat on this one ,just go buy a polaris or can-am and hit the trails and be done with it.Time for Yamaha to rethink what they are building.
@dexterlexter1237 жыл бұрын
maybe a hi low range in the future

with them coming out with this they are admitting it has a problem...up here in tight trails this thing is junk
@derekparisian20236 жыл бұрын
This comment is coming from a Can Am rider who clearly doesn't know what he's talking about. They are not admitting there is a problem. This machine is meant for pure sport as in sand/trails. Rock crawling and mudding requires a gear reduction all they are doing is offering more options for the owner to get to where he wants for his riding style. All of the brands have a regular sxs for normal use and have a mudding option sxs. Polaris has their highlifters and can am has their XMRs. Instead of making gear reduction standard and causing the price of the machine to come up they made it for the customer to option their sxs for what they want. With a comment of "this thing is junk" you clearly have no knowledge about machines and are clearly just a turn key driver that doesn't do mechanical work.
@ROTAXD6 жыл бұрын
Derek Parisian thing is...can am's xmr is actually far less expensive than ther top of the line x3's. What yamaha should do...is have 2 or 3 different gearsets that can be ordered when a customer orders their machine. 1 set being a granny gearset for mudding, another as it is now for dunes type riding, and a third that's got a true wide ratio setup. Granny 1st gear and a nice tall 5th gear that'll allow something close to 75/80 mph when they want to let her run. The yxz platform has tons of potential...yamaha shoyld give the end user the iption to tap that potential without first going through the tranny after they buy the machine.
@derekparisian20236 жыл бұрын
ROTAXD Your paying for reliability and quality. Their engines are bullet proof unlike can ams and Polaris. This is their first real performance sxs which has been running for a few years. In a few more years they will have all the kinks worked out.
@TheBandit76135 жыл бұрын
Or, you can spare yourself the expense and hassle and buy a Maverick that doesn't need thousands of dollars worth of "corrections" you know, things the engineers should have addressed during design. I did.
@GIGABACHI6 жыл бұрын
Sorry Yamaha but that's just admitting that these things are flawed to the low speed crawling stuff(which I personally believe people got wrong from the get go and this SxS is more of a desert racer). P.S: Your PR guy sounds like a total condescending DOUCHEBAG. Typical. And of course, no word about improved clutch lubrication and why burnt clutches so easily. Of course not, they are all mighty Yamaha, no OEM is ever wrong. It's alright, Tubeworks it's more than happy to help the buying sheeple with the factory installed problem. LOL.

YAMAHA NUMBER 1
@kylestewart83546 жыл бұрын
I never understood why people would want a 1,000cc machine for technical trail riding. these high HP machines were designed for the open areas. there are a lot of great options out there better suited for this type terrian. anything over a 750cc is just wasted.
@lauderdalechad6 жыл бұрын
kyle stewart you obviously cannot tell the difference between power and speed. More power is good for long steep hill climbs, churning through thick mud holes, plowing though deep snow in the winter, not revving the piss out of your machine to maintain roadway speed limits ect. If you can't afford a big bore utv I get it and I could say that anyone that thinks a 750cc engine is more than enough for a 1200-1600lb utv should just shut up and go buy a golf cart. but anyone that says "having more power on tap is a waste" is clearly in denial or is just plain retarded
