At the risk of swelling your brain bladder and inflating your ego; Honest, conscientious people like you restore my faith in humanity-let me tell you I constantly see people who’s lack of integrity just crushes my heart-you showed me there IS hope for the human race. Also, I’ve met people who are masters at their trade, but can’t teach. You sir are more than a master at your trade, you’re an excellent teacher. I anxiously await your next video!

Hits home! I'm one of those 'elderly gentlemen' who can no longer maintain my house. In years past I NEVER had to depend on others cause I could do it all- both for my self and for folks who couldn't do it themselves; it really hurts to discover that even though the skill is still there the physical ability isn't. I really appreciate the extra effort you put in to help one of my contemporaries. It's an admirable thing to do.

As i get older i find my ability to take care of the simple things eroding and the more difficult impossible. Finding someone to do it is frustrating no matter what you pay them. Currently i need a toilet replaced but cant find someone to do it at a reasonable price. Wish there more young people like yourself out there. Really appreciate the time you spend on the job.

As an elder with failing nerve disease your last part is real to me. I was a chemical delivery engineer so I know the importance of attention to detail that seems to be lost amongst tradesmen these days. Some are lazy and/or greedy while others are not trained in these tricks of the trade. Past pandemic it's hard to find workers. "Handymen" now are trying to step up but especially in the well business small mistakes can cause high dollar failures. Thanks for your efforts to train and help with video classes in correct procedures.

I used to work for a company that sold expansion tanks for hydronic systems and Hot Potable water. The most common problem we saw was the "Parts Changers" not adjusting the air pressure in the tank when they installed them. They only ship with 12psi. in them.

@h2omechanic
@h2omechanic 4 ай бұрын
If you added air to the tank, you set it back to original pressure and allowed it to clean out any trapped sediment in the bladder. If it clears up, you may be fine. The ole Knock test on the tank never fails! Most tanks last 8-10 years. So if it's old, just replace it.

I have been working in the plumbing wholesale business for 45 years at the same company. Moved onto the sales desk in 1986 and every time I sell a pressure tank I always remind the customer about the precharge in the tank, should be 2 pounds less than pump cut in. I am very confident you do this as you are very thorough however your D I Y viewers may overlook this vital step. Really enjoy your videos and keep up the good work. 👍

Side note: I purchased that same water filter you installed in your house. I have to tell you that it's the best water I've ever tasted. My daughter who spends hundreds of dollars on bottled water says it tastes better than the Smart water she buys and now she's hooked on the filtration system. Also, their customer service is amazing from them. I think I've saved enough by not buying bottled water to pay for the filtration system. Lastly making coffee with filtered water makes the best tasting coffee.

Just had the bladder tank replaced today, 33 gallon just about totally full of water. Had to cut off the Schrader to drain the water that was above the bladder, that was black too. Bought the house this week, home inspector didn't catch it at all, and I didn't realize it until I actually spent a day in the house and heard the system pulsing repeatedly with a toilet flushing.
