Hi Mike, thank you so much, my friend. Means a lot 😊 There will come some amazing things in 2024. I'm currently working hard on something big, which will maybe even change landscape photography as we know it. Will be revealed soon here on my channel. But for now I'm enjoying some relaxing Christmas days with my family. Merry Christmas also to you and your family! Nice greetings, Christian

Something that i find dramatically improves how i perceive an image after importing into lightroom is to turn on corrections for the lens, which evens out the lighting. After that, it is easier to get color balance and overall exposure looking nice. While i usually prefer the more open look from removing vignetting; if i want it, usually i manually dial it back with more control in lightroom. Next for color balance, often i will make subtle color temperature adjustments between different parts of the image, which adds to the contrast, as well as being closer to the truer mood out in the field, because cameras are making an overall color balance estimation, while our eyes are not under that limitation (particularly because of the greater dynamic range). Often what we perceive as a great image out in the field has that magical relationship of colors, which we need to bring back to the flat color balance that a camera gives.

Hi Michael, thank you for your insights, my friend 😊 Yes, I agree. We are often enchanted by colours out in the field and the raw image of the camera doesn't reflect it in that same way. And the camera usually also doesn't have emotions, which affects the perception, but the photographer maybe has 😉 Merry Christmas to you and your family, Christian

Hello Christian, Definitely I have the same feeling when I import my photos to Darkroom. I don't really understand why looking image on phone is so different? Because we can look at the image of the scenery in another direction? So we are little disconnected from real scenery front of camera? It's could make sense. In viewfinder it's the same. We are in the "tunnel" so disconnected from peripheral scenery and we see only image. May be a big tablets 12 inch can help also to see image closer to real print size. But it's another device to carry on.

Hi Marek, there is a big difference in how a human and how a camera sees. I mentioned that in my video about Depth: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/id6Be9qLrNWRYJ8.html And yes, a good screen is definitely an advantage. In my experience, the phone display is already good enough. But of course, if you are able to carry an additional screen around, that would be an advantage for building up compositions 🙂 Nice greetings, Christian

Hi @gr-os4gd, funny quote 😆 In fact, we all had to deal with most of the beginner mistakes out there, we are all sitting in the same boat. But that's good, it helps us to grow. Thanks a lot for watching, my friend. Nice greetings, Christian

@@christian.irmler Indeed; the funny(?) thing is that it's still easy to make beginner mistakes...
