A cheap 2009 Nissan Cube popped up for sale with a bad transmission. I jumped right on that and had it delivered to the warehouse sight unseen. We quickly learned this was a smokers car in the worst way. Ashes in the door pulls and cup holders, very strong smoke smell, weird stains on the seats and carpets... this car has basically all the worst issues you could run into. We're going to wash it, detail the interior, start the smoke removal with the ozone generator, and ceramic coat it with Avalonking.

Flip it and move onto the next one. You know that it will cost more than you anticipate. Not to mention that it’ll be the most expensive cube in the country by the time you’re done. You could put 100k into a cube, but when you’re all said and done, it’s still a cube...

@@Brian-jv8iy Yeah but JR doesn't seem invested enough in doing it. He even mentioned what he'd have to sell it for, so it's not like it would be a perm. fixture for the fleet. So it's not worth it.

I just made a comment about it, but the wheelbase on a B15 Sentra is nearly identical to the Cube, and even the S-ER and S-ER Spec V models can be had in rough shape for not much money. With that there is the option for a 6speed manual transmission and I don't think there would be as much issue getting everything to fit. While it wouldn't be as crazy of a build, it would still be unique and add some sportiness to the Cube.

@@NissanSkyline901, the base model Cube came with a 6 speed manual - clutch, shifter, etc wouldn't need to be custom built because there are already exact fit parts.

You're right, I would've had so many words for the contents of that Cube. My guess is that tire gauge was bent so that it always reads the correct PSI and nothing more 🧐 😂

My sister's car was so disgusting from her and her boyfriend smoking in it, that you got a headache from just sitting in it. So she had it detailed inside with a deep cleaning and the detailer had to run his ozone machine for 2 whole freaking days! He took a razor blade to the inside of the glass and scraped the tar and crap off of it. That's disgusting.

I once moved into a house like that. 3 months rent off to clean it up. The brown walls... well. They turned out to be a very pretty peach. The ceilings.. the everything. It was horrific.

@@Canthus13 we moved into an apartment that was like that. We had small kids at the time and the smell was horrible. The walls were covered in wallpaper that had soaked up the smoke and everything else and transferred it to the walls. They tried painting and that didn't work. They replaced the carpet and that didn't work. We told them we wanted out of our lease because it was bad. The company refused and we had to get an attorney. Luckily I knew one amd she went after them. We had an inspector come out and she smelled it from the front door. She walked in 5 feet and then left. We were told it would take 3-5 business days to get the report, she did it that night. So they let us leave, then tried claiming our security deposit was theirs. So that was an attorney call. We knew some people that moved into the complex and drove by that apartment and it had the -Smokers Apartment-O² users please use caution- out in front. I guess they gave up.

@@SpiritDonkey it did. They chain smoke. Then when they go to trade in a car they act mystified that they get offered next to nothing for the car. I told her to quit smoking in her car then. She said she knows they have special cleaners and masking agents, they are just punishing her for smoking. I said yeah they are! They probably have to replace the seats, deep clean the carpets, redo the headliner. Her headliner was collapsing from all the accumulated crap and the smoke embedded in it. Just sitting in her car for 10 minutes gave you a headache, stung your eyes, and made you feel like you had a sinus infection, your throat itch and you smelled like an ashtray. Her detail guy wore a hood with an air hose on it. He specializes in smokers cars. He got 85% of it out. But the moment the ac came on, all the accumulated garbage in the vents blew it right back out. The glass heated up,and that got more going. Really the car needed to be set on fire.

We all came here to this channel because he was a nice man working on car's with his passion and love for them. Somehow I have been seeing this across many car channels where they just take cars now a day's and flip them plus get paid for KZfaq videos at a tune of 1k per video because of all the subscriptions and views. After taxes they keep about $770.00 and like the Joker said "it's never been about the money, it's about sending a message" but these channels have lost that or are loosing it. But it can all be solved with a ceramic coated on a cube R spec V

I bought a smokers car, once. It was the perfect one otherwise. Took it to a thorough interior cleaning and took about 2 months of deodorization to get it good. It's not the end of the world, if you can stand the smell for the while it takes to remove it.

I remember my first detail on a smokers car I bought a 69 Chevelle and a vinyl interior that was an off-white and they were smokers and my friend taught me how to clean with soft scrub (reg sent)we scrub on that thing it took us two days to get the interior clean and all the smoke residue off the windows and seats and when we’re done it looked like brand new My guys are going to awesome job and turning this cube Around 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍Amazing resultsSend it on down the roadHarbor freight is just killing it with their boxes

I have had my Cube for 5 years now, its a 2009 with 84k on it got it at 25k and never gave me a second of trouble. Pros- extremely easy to get in and out of the room is terrific so easy to park Cons- the CVT is not exactly great sounding or able to be pushed hard Can barely keep with with Texas hwys, we drive fast down here

I bought an old pickup that was a smokers car. Stripped it to the steel and cleaned an cleaned and cleaned . Replaced the seats and headliner, not too bad now.

What a combo. The inside of a car says a lot about the owners. When we used to have a rental house, we would peek in the car while interviewing. If the car was a dump, they didn’t get the house. Your Nissan was an obvious kid hauler. Yet full of cigarette paraphernalia. Obvious responsible parents.

Two suggestions 1 invest less than $80 on Amazon for powerful ozone machine with fan and timer. Run inside car with car fan on high with doors closed and windows up for two 15 minute intervals. You will be pleased with the reduction of smoke smell 2 collaborate with Junkyard Dave and DIY gang to put Hellcat motor in the Cube.

Try this, we used to get old K9 police cars and used this to get the dog smell out of the cars. Buy 2 bags of cheap apples, cut them in half and spread them on the floor add 2 bags of charcoal briquetted cut open, 1 in the front and the other in the back. Park the vehicle outside and give it a couple of days. Depending on how bad the smell is, you might need to repeat.

My coworker smokes in the work van and they let him drive so I get to smell it all the time. Never smoked after watching my Dad smoke 4 packs of unfiltered Camels a day just as they started admitting it was really bad for you. It stinks up the car and they always think everything is a ashtray 🤢

When I was a kid, my step dad smoked 2 packs of Camels a day. Loved to smoke and drive, it always made me ill. In my sophomore year in high school he quit cold turkey after 25 years. Man, he was a prick to be around for about 3 weeks, but he did it. Got to admit he had guts. Died 2 years ago at 85 but never smoked another cigarette. It ain't easy but it can be done!

@@Karmy. My favorite uncle owned and ran a autobody shop for 50 years, he smoked camel shorts ( unfiltered) from the time he was 20 till he started chemotherapy for the cancer they gave him. He had throat and prostate cancer, he went in for his last first round of chemotherapy session and suffered a heart attack. He was only 72. My father buried his baby brother. Not really because my uncle was cremated, but you know what I mean. That is not the way its supposed to go. My father being 3 years older then my uncle should've gone first. My father has smoked off and on throughout his life ( mostly off) and is now 79 . I tried a cigarette back in high-school. It was not for me. I don't smoke and never have. I don't drink or do drugs.

My last Mini Cooper R53 was a former smoker call. I ended up buying and running an Ozone machine inside the car for three cycles along with using a Bissell Spot Bot with Chemical Guys carpet shampoo. It worked! Sold the car with the second person who drove the car. The first offered me the same amount but he was a jerk... so no car for you!

Smoking. One of the most destructive habits known to man. Bad enough smokers damaging their own health, they endanger the health of everyone around you with secondhand smoke. My grandmother died at the age of sixty eight from her thirty year pack a day habit. Not to mention the smoke residue creates brown tar stains all over the interior. A truly disgusting habit. I'd be all for the Cube R project. That would be a one of a kind Cube.

Hi JRGo. You need to take all the seats out and vaccum everything out and make sure to remove smoke smell from the headliner.

Welcome to the loudest channel on youtube. Not going to do the C10 front end conversion on this? I did a near detail level cleanout on a flip car just once. Guy bought it for parts. I decided I wouldn't work that hard again.

No to the Cube R....sure if would be fun, if you already had those parts. Not so sure it would work anyways...and I suspect you have a time problem already. Haha. That toolbox wall....words don't describe how awesome that is!!

The former owner could only be described as "low-rent trash". I bought an Explorer where the former owner smoked cheap cigars. It was rank!! I used Purple Power to pre treat the upholstery, then I used my Hoover Steamin' Vac to clean and rinse it. The wash and rinse water was an awful deep brown. It turned out nice, but whenever I turned on the A/C, it had that cigar smell. I didn't feel like taking the dash out to clean the coils and ducting.

I went to a used car dealer who did not even do a simple detail on the cars on their lot. We were looking at Cadillac CTS's so we weren't looking at cheap cars. Because of the lack of a clean up and a poor attitude about fixing minor body damage we walked away disgusted and will not return to any of their locations.

Everybody's here saying do the Cube R and I'm like, if I had that I would go get some B's from pick-a-part cars and turn them upside down/backwards so it said pube on the front and back of it. Someday maybe I'll grow up

I'm thinking skip the Cube R. You might make it faster, but in the end it'll still be a Cube.

I loved my 2010 cube, it was mint and fun to drive! Great motor but the transmission went out twice, Nissan even extended to warranty on the transmission to 120K miles, but it wasn’t worth keeping.

The little rug does come standard in that car, and mine had the interior light kit.

I love that you’re working on my favorite cars, I’m driving a ‘18 Kia Soul+, the champion of the box cars. Let me know if you want some of those missing hooks, I have a few I forgot to send with the old car when I traded it in.

JR check out an early '60s custom called "the Lil Coffin" from the first time I spotted a Cube it reminded me of that car, some of the design cues must have come from it. Mostly the roof and tail light area.

I passed on a deal of a 2018 Odyssey with 34k miles because it was a smokers car. They only wanted $24k (+$1k dealer fee, +$1k processing fee) which was $5k (really, $3k) below KBB but I didn't trust a detailer to be able to get the lingering smell of smoke and disgusting grime off the 'leather' seats.
